It seems like the stories about the old silver fox are ramping up. Feel like there's more mileage in this one that we know...

I’m starting to fret a bit about MM. if he was my ds I’d have dragged him home to protect him, whatever he’d deliberately or accidentally got involved in. Hope he’s ok.

ManonBlackbeak · 10/02/2020 07:51

As he’s sold his story to The Sun, I think the Daily Mail and The Mirror will be interesting reading over the next few weeks. Look out for lots of hinting and nudge nudge wink wink stuff on the DM online.

Sarcelle · 10/02/2020 07:54

There is a photo of him with the theatre group going way back. MM is in the shot with all the other troupe. He is 10.

So their association goes way back. But its a group line up shot, so at that stage he may not have ever met PS, just in a here is a patron of the theatre group way.

@Handsoffisback and that other guy with her just said that 'they suspected for years'!!!!

Hairydilemma · 10/02/2020 08:22

That Mail article is really interesting. I don’t usually trust the Mail as far as I can throw them, but that sounds like it’s come from someone who knows - lots of inside detail.

No wonder Pip looked so ashen and gaunt - it wasn’t (just) years of being quietly gay, it was 24 hours of ‘fuuuck, the Sun are onto me and I’m in a whole shedload of trouble’.

OneUsernameOnly · 10/02/2020 08:25

Joan Collins also said about allegations of inappropriate behaviour and grooming- Perez Hilton stepped in to say they were so far unfounded but even he was careful with his words!

It won't be worded as resignation, it'll be a taking time off to focus on himself.

derxa · 10/02/2020 08:32

I know this is irrelevant but Joan Collins is 86. She must have had a lot of work done but even so- she looks great.

Expo · 10/02/2020 08:51

I just don’t understand why the mail and mirror don’t print it. Does MM have to go to them first?

LoseLooseLucy · 10/02/2020 08:52

Just seen the clip with Joan Collins, she really does look good.

nauticant · 10/02/2020 09:06

As I wrote on the other thread, if the runner denies that anything improper happened, and this would help preserve his career, and those in the ITV camp keep their united front, which they're motivated to do otherwise they'll look very dodgy indeed, then a newspaper going with this story could see a very nasty libel claim, not just in terms of money but in terms of appearing to have acted out of "homophobia". It's too risky unless they can get a solid first hand account.

RapidRainbow · 10/02/2020 09:16

So Joan Collins hinted at grooming? That's worrying. I was about to post that I'm quite appalled that because they appeared in a photo together when MM was 10/11 that this will send Twitter into more paedophilia meltdown but I doubt Joan Collins is sat reading through the MM hash tag so what is she basing her thoughts on?!! Confused

LoseLooseLucy · 10/02/2020 09:20

Joan Collins didn't hint at grooming, she said basically that it has always been known he was gay, so why the big statement and announcement?

LoseLooseLucy · 10/02/2020 09:22

Perez Hilton jumped in and said there have been rumours of inappropriate behaviour, but they're unsubstantiated.

LoseLooseLucy · 10/02/2020 09:27

Joan then asked what inappropriate behaviour, and got shut down rapidly by everyone else at the table basically.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 10/02/2020 09:33

Got to love Joan Grin And Piers’ face was a picture. He must have signed something because you could see his cogs working: say nothing, say nothing.

CallmeAngelina · 10/02/2020 09:35

Joan didn't mention inappropriate behaviour. The subject came up around the table, and she said she hadn't been in the country recently so didn't know the latest. She then looked a bit confused and said that everyone had known for years he was gay so why had he felt the need to make his statement now (good question). It was Perez Hilton (that old gossip!) who mentioned allegations of inappropriate behaviour (disclaimer: unsubstantiated) and then they all looked horrified and shut him down - except for Joan who continued to look "what the fuck is this all about?"
Later on, she again seemed like she was asking the same question (why now?) but was actually making the point that being gay is so mainstream nowadays that there shouldn't be any need to make a statement about it anyway.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 10/02/2020 09:37

How stupid Perez Hilton is - “unsubstantiated rumours”?! Clearly very much substantiated Confused

I think JC was only talking about PC being gay, not about any alleged grooming.

If the allegations about the runner are true, then I think the vast majority of the gay community are going to be absolutely appalled, and rightly so.

It's one thing to be proud to be gay and quite another to be a sexual predator.

bobstersmum · 10/02/2020 10:20

Just watching and waiting for someone ringing in on spin to win to say So Phillip, what about you and this runner!
