What's happening to Phillip Schofield?

It seems like the stories about the old silver fox are ramping up. Feel like there's more mileage in this one that we know...

The whole agent/celeb thing around some of those people has always been a bit incestuous.

Back in the day, Pip used to be managed by ex-radio 1 DJ Peter Powell and a chap called Russ Lindsay.

They also managed Anthea Turner and Bruno Brookes (blast from the past!) who used to go out together, then Anthea ended up dumping Bruno and marrying Peter Powell.

They also managed Caron Keating (RIP) who allegedly went out with Pip for a while, and ultimately ended up marrying Russ Lindsay. It was all very intertwined.

Haven't the PS stories of boyfriend/runner come out this weekend?
I was assuming the tabloids would be printing it all this weekend?

If there's an injunction or NDAs they can't print them- even if they are on Twitter.

This what is usually behind seemingly random and bizarre celeb stories in the press.

Allegedly the affair started when he was 18. The runner was upset it had all ended, went to flog it to the sunday press (my betting is the Sun on Sunday as they hold the exclusive interview with PS) PS got wind, had to quickly out himself and get the sympathy PR drive going. In inner circles it has been wildly known for years and years. His wife has known since the beginning and is probably very upset now how it has all come out.

I feel for his daughters the most. I also hate with a passion people who flog kiss and tell stories after the relationship ends. It's just bitterness. I also hate liars and PS should of just been honest and up front to everyone.

Did anyone else notice how thin he is?

Yes. I've wondered if that was relevant to the overall circumstances of the disputes and the ultimate revelation.

Was it The Sun that had the Ant McPartlin exclusive interview as well? The one where he admitted an addiction to prescription drugs? There were assumptions at the time they had a different story on him about illegal drugs and in exchange for not running the story they were granted the exclusive. ITV has a very shady relationship with the tabloids.

A couple of things struck me about the TM interview one being the Eamonn Holmes comments as a previous poster mentioned. It suggests that Holly, Dan Baldwin and Steph all knew, that it wasn’t a recent revelation. This is backed up by PS stating quite vehemently that he and Steph had never had any secrets - does that mean his sexuality or the alleged relationship with the Runner?

Popbitch had an interesting story about ITV a few weeks ago (I think it was December, definitely within the last 10 weeks as it is still up on the website and only the last 10 articles are free).

What a mess. An absolute mess.

It is an absolute mess. In any other profession ps would now likely be suspended pending investigation, not celebrated. ITV has serious problems.

So if someone commented on the This Morning Facebook feed (as friends of mine did saying ‘how brave 🙄) saying what’s all this about an affair with your runner, would it be taken down or would one be sued??

I watched the runners presenting showreel which features him, Phillip, Holly, Eamon & Ruth.

Very confident, a bit cocky, I thought he would be quite well spoken but has a norther regional accent. Seems he had full access on the set.

When he interviews P he said the last time I interviewed you was 3 years ago. At the end he says, I wonder if when I interview you again in 3 years, where we will be/what we will be doing. Phillip says if I am still getting away with it in 3 years I will be a happy man.

He probably meant still on telly, but could be read another way....

If it was an open secret in the media and TV world, I expect the praise for being brave just means coming out in public. Ruth and Eammon will have known but they could have been talking about him being honest with the public.

How do injunctions work? Is it that the person who wants to talk can’t, or just that papers can’t print what they say?

Amanda Holden has just tweeted about “always more interesting what goes on behind the scenes”. With a wink emoji added.

Is that the tweet with Amanda lying on her back at a photo shoot? I don’t see a wink. I don’t think that related to PS.

Oh she's deleted the first half of the tweet and removed the emoji. I definitely thought it related to PS

The Mirror heavily hinted it was Schofield related as well. That’s a newspaper which knows what’s going on and doesn’t dare quite say it.

The Daily Mail also alluded to Holden's tweet being aimed at PS, and that it was accompanied with wink emoji.

It looks like the first part of that text is missing but she left in the full stop.

What did it say? Anybody see it?

Re people working for just one channel I think, it used to be called Golden Handcuffs. Back in the days when morecombe and wise moved from bbc to itv was front page news. And for some years later. Doesn't happen anywhere near as often. For eg Gary Lineker hosts match of the day for the bbc but also does by sport etc etc.

Having caught up with all this, will PS "resign" this week, or will TM be taken off air for a while?

They certainly look after their own at ITV. Remember how they all minimised and mitigated Coleen Nolan’s appalling behaviour on Loose Women. Public opinion was at complete odds with the crap they were spinning but they just soldiered on regardless.
