to wonder if flu jab side effects are particularly bad this year?

Had mine a couple of days ago, feeling pretty awful today. I'm pretty sure it's just side effects so hopefully won't last too long, but I'm just wondering if it's been kicking people's butts particularly hard this year? (The flu jab, I mean, not the flu itself.)

I didn't have any side effects at all

noeyedeer · 02/12/2019 20:23

I've noticed nothing but a slightly sore arm. DSs had nasal spray, and both been on top form, despite getting the sniffles in previous years. DH has had neither and has an absolutely horrid cold at the moment, sinuses, headaches, aches etc

NannyR · 02/12/2019 20:24

I had mine in Sept and didn't have any side effects other than a sore arm.

sleepyhead · 02/12/2019 20:24

Nope, none of us at work had any side effects at all. There are some nasty viruses doing the rounds though.

LagunaBubbles · 02/12/2019 20:25

I've gave 50 do far at work and haven't heard anything much apart from a few sore arms.

TinkersBell · 02/12/2019 20:25

I was absolutely fine other than a bit of a tender arm.

Crunchymum · 02/12/2019 20:25

Flu jab isn't a live vaccine.

Whatever you have you either a) already picked up or b) is a strain of flu that isnt being vaccinated against this time

dementedpixie · 02/12/2019 20:25

Dh had no side effects

MolyHolyGuacamole · 02/12/2019 20:26

Had mine end of September, no issues whatsoever

XXMansplainShieldActive · 02/12/2019 20:27

No side effects this year for us and in fact the only year I had any was when I was pregnant so could you be OP?

Jollitwiglet · 02/12/2019 20:27

I had no side effects this year either other than a sore arm

Solitaryradiator · 02/12/2019 20:28

No side effects

AnotherDFSsale · 02/12/2019 20:28

Not a live vaccine from what I remember being told? Only the nasal are live is that right?

chipsandpeas · 02/12/2019 20:28

i had mine about 3 weeks ago and no side effects

CAG12 · 02/12/2019 20:28

Nope. Nor any of my colleagues. As PP said, it isnt a live vaccine so anything you've got will have just coincided with you getting the vaccine

Pipandmum · 02/12/2019 20:28

Fine for me too.

Wintersnowdrop · 02/12/2019 20:29

No side effects here for me or my teens .

SimonJT · 02/12/2019 20:29

No side effects apart from a sore arm, it’s not a live vaccine.

yikesanotherbooboo · 02/12/2019 20:29

What Crunchymum said.

BabbleBee · 02/12/2019 20:29

No side effects for me or my colleagues either.

RhymingRabbit3 · 02/12/2019 20:29

Probably not a side effect, you're probably just ill. A friend of mine came down with flu a few days after having the jab, she was just unfortunate and had already contracted the virus before having the jab.

OceanVillage · 02/12/2019 20:30

Had mine in October and no side effects.

bringincrazyback · 02/12/2019 20:30

Definitely not pregnant @XXMansplainShieldActive but starting to wonder if I'm coming down with something unrelated to flu jab! Confused

OP posts:
DippyAvocado · 02/12/2019 20:30

I was fine but both my DC were unwell afterwards which hasn't happened before. I did wonder if it was related.

dementedpixie · 02/12/2019 20:32

The nasal one is a live vaccine, the injection isnt
