to wonder if flu jab side effects are particularly bad this year?

Had mine a couple of days ago, feeling pretty awful today. I'm pretty sure it's just side effects so hopefully won't last too long, but I'm just wondering if it's been kicking people's butts particularly hard this year? (The flu jab, I mean, not the flu itself.)

1st Flu jab this year for a long time prompted by losing a couple of young patients to Flu recently.
No side effects.

Just a sore arm

Snowybunny · 03/12/2019 08:35

I had mine on Saturday and since yesterday I've been achy all over, very tired, sore throat and phelgmy.
I dont know if it's a coincidence or not but I usually dont get I'll often at all so I'm betting its because of the jab.

Damntheman · 03/12/2019 10:18

I felt slightly under the weather for about 6 hours after the jab - but this is normal for me as I have allergies that require monitoring post vaccines and am overly sensitive to a lot of medicines. My arm hurt like an absolute beast for about three days, but after that all golden :) I don't think it was worse than any other year but that first day was a bit uncomfortable.

Having said no side effects, we're now having them I think. I woke up this morning with aches in my quadriceps but only one one leg so decided I'd slept in an odd position. It was only when DS mentioned the same thing that I thought maybe it was a side effect.

Can't say I'm bothered though, it's better than the flu.

WeArnottamused · 03/12/2019 17:09

DS is on Immunosuppressants - he had his, & it was a week before he could get out of bed.

He mentioned it at his next clinic appt IBD nurse told him a few people had had problems this year.

The rest of us no problem

MumOf1plusBump · 03/12/2019 17:13

My arm was very sore for 2 days but that's all

Mamabear88 · 03/12/2019 17:16

Me, my hubby, my dad and my mum have all had it. Not one of us has had a single side effect. Think you must've picked something up OP, there is plenty going around atm.

Vampire my mums having chemo and so ds had to stay away all weekend as he had nasal spray. Nurse recommended 48 hours.
Especially careful though as mum had chemo 16 hours before he had spray!
