AIBU to find this response to us telling our friend we are having twins a bit rude?

I can imagine I may (possibly) be a little bit hormonal etc, but I feel like this is a weird response. It wasn’t said in a jokey way, and was the only thing she said before saying she was on her way out.

My husband also thought it was rude, but he might just be agreeing with me to make me feel less stupid.

As if twins don't happen naturally Hmm😂

We had naturally concieved twins - for some reason many people thought it was fine to ask if we used IVF. Even complete strangers in Tescos.

As others have said, you'll need to get used to this. Twin mums get asked this sort of stuff all the time by complete strangers, let alone friends.

My favourite was an elderly lady peering over her glasses into the buggy asking "One egg or two dear".

"Did you have some help?"
"Yes. My husband has no willy, so I was impregnated by my father-in-law so that we could keep the paternal bloodline going."

Actually, due to the refinement of assisted reproduction technology, the twinning rate of IVF has gone down a lot. It's usual to put in only one fertilized egg these days.

"Yes I had to neck a bottle of wine just to let my husband stick it in me!"

Get used to it! Every other person asked my daughter if she’d had IVF.
