(prepares to be shot down by all the posh people who have their outside oven...)

OP posts:
Slubberdegullion · 21/08/2007 21:48

There are no Tory's on my island. Maybe Hagues new book is lying next to my towel to be read after Hugh has finished with me.

specialmagiclady · 21/08/2007 22:05

Here - let me help you up.

I used to know HFW's sister vaguely. Nice lady, did look exactly like Hugh. Same hair and everything.

Pannacotta · 21/08/2007 22:12

sophable just to go back to teh GR rumour and osrry if amn being dense, glass of vino too many (hic)! was the GR sucker male or female?!

krabbiepatty · 21/08/2007 22:13

Erm, quite a lot of this thread is defamatory and I suspect there is no one around from MN HQ to pull it so maybe let it die out?

Heathcliffscathy · 21/08/2007 22:13

right. male. allegedly. tana, really it's all about making him more attractive.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 21/08/2007 22:16

Quite a lot of this thread's defamatory? Eh?

Heathcliffscathy · 21/08/2007 22:18

i believe that it is a woman's right to gossip.

no one is saying 'this or that definitely happened' we're talking about rumours.

which is think is allowed, oh spanky one.

krabbiepatty · 21/08/2007 22:18

Well, Kathy unless someone can prove all this stuff is true, yes it probably is...

Pannacotta · 21/08/2007 22:18

Very JUICY!
Sure GR wont give a stuff what mumsnetters write about him, he is always slagging off his fellow chefs!

Pannacotta · 21/08/2007 22:19

definitely - gossip is FUN!

Kathyis6incheshigh · 21/08/2007 22:19

Krabbie, there are a few posts quoting rumours. That doesn't amount to a lot of the thread.

krabbiepatty · 21/08/2007 22:22

The problem is that with the state of the law at the moment, it doesn't matter hugely that this is on a late night thread and not in the front page of the Sun.
[Feeling like a killjoy emoticon]

krabbiepatty · 21/08/2007 22:22

"on" even

Kathyis6incheshigh · 21/08/2007 22:24

If it bothers you then report the specific posts - there are actually only a very small number retailing this rumour.

Heathcliffscathy · 21/08/2007 22:25

but the fact that they are couched in rumour rather than fact means that they are not surely.

otherwise no speculation or alledging about anything at all.

do we need a legal expert?

Heathcliffscathy · 21/08/2007 22:25

'retailing'
i'm not selling them kathy

Pannacotta · 21/08/2007 22:27

bah humbug!!

krabbiepatty · 21/08/2007 22:27

Eeeh, am not bothered personally, Kathy, I just think it's a but late at night for anyone at MN HQ to be up to delete particular posts. Probably GR is not the most litigious person in the world and won't give a stuff BUT you never know...
And I seem to be keeping this in active convos so I think I'll just shuffle off to bed...

Kathyis6incheshigh · 21/08/2007 22:27

[Kathy gets insecure and goes off to check Dictionary.com]

"5. to relate or repeat in detail to others: to retail scandal.
?verb (used without object) "

But if you have any more as good as that one I will pay good money

krabbiepatty · 21/08/2007 22:30

It's not quite my field, sophable, but my recollection from lawschool days is there a limit to how much you can get away with the old "allegedly" - otherwise if you think about it, the tabloids would be even more stuffed with scandalous crap than they already are.
I really am going to bed now.

paulaplumpbottom · 21/08/2007 22:31

I often wonder if he really uses that sort of language "At Home" in front of his kids

puffling · 21/08/2007 22:39

This made me laugh:

By the way Sophable, what is a pinko?

Heathcliffscathy · 21/08/2007 23:25

puffling have you been trawling through old threads.

a pinko is a commie. but people that call people that are generally referring to socialists. or indeed anyone that doesn't think you should bring back hanging, not to say lynching.

i started a great thread once (preens) about pinko liberal guardianistas uniting.

mumsnet has gone all right wing since then.

expatinscotland · 21/08/2007 23:31

Only read OP.

Mmm, BBQ.
