This one ->

www.itv.com/news/2019-11-27/jeremy-corbyn-says-uncensored-documents-show-nhs-is-part-of-toxic-post-brexit-trade-talks-with-us/

I had already decided to vote for the conservatives, mainly because I couldn't bring myself to vote for any of the others who seem hell bent on gleefully ripping up womens rights. I've always voted so abstaining/spoiling wasn't an option.

But after reading/watching the above I think I am going to switch to voting labour. We are a disabled family, and could never afford to pay for healthcare (and I doubt insurance would touch us with a barge pole).

I don't like Momentum/Corbyn really but I'd rather complain and fight for my right to a single sex ward than not be able to use one at all

Re: brexit I voted remain in the last referendum but to be honest just have fatigue about the whole thing, so I'm not basing my vote on any of that. (Though seems a second vote isn't that terrible an idea).

Just posting because I can't see anything on here about this yet and I've gone from feeling quietly confident that Conservatives would win to feeling nervous about it now. Anyone else?

Of course I support a party who want things to change.

Why is there an unquestioning, 100% belief in one party's manifesto as a gospel truth, but the other side is a complete pack of lies from start to end?

Both positions are ridiculously extreme and incredibly naive.

We've had governments of both sides in recent history, so we know neither party will do everything they say they are going to in these manifestos.

KaptainKaveman · 27/11/2019 16:22

Actually it was John Major who initially held secret negotiations with Sinn Fein so technically that makes the Tories.... IRA SYMPATHISERS AND THEREFORE BY DEFAULT TERRORISTS...OMG.

This thread is like reading the daily Poke, Breitbart and the New Statesman all rolled into one. Happy days Grin.

NeverTwerkNaked · 27/11/2019 16:22

Yanbu. The Tories will destroy the NHS. And they will go for a hard or no deal brexit that has disastrous consequences on many levels.

KenDodd · 27/11/2019 16:24

Any idiots been on yet saying 'Boris said the NHS isn't for sale and I believe him'?

Funny how even though we've had "austerity" for years the debt has doubled. Where has the money gone?

I asked google, which then quoted wikipedia at me:-

Since 2008, when the British economy slowed sharply and fell into recession, the national debt has risen dramatically, mainly caused by increased spending on social security benefits, financial bailouts for banks, and a significant drop in receipts from stamp duty, corporate tax, and income tax.

what i did like about corbyn was what he said in the manifesto on mental health.especially joining and working with the dumpthescales initiative which will fingers crossed go towards helping out so many suffers of eating disorders.who currently are being turned away and essentially dying or slowly dying because of appearance and numbers and weight.

PettyContractor · 27/11/2019 16:27

Lots of fascinating facts.

In 2012, the British population numbered around 64 million, and the debt therefore amounted to a little over £15,000 for each individual Briton, or around £33,000 per person in employment. Each household in Britain pays an average of around £2,000 per year in taxes to finance the interest

TheGirlFromStoryville · 27/11/2019 16:28

i can never understand why anyone who cares about disabled people would ever vote tory

Our DS is severely disabled (autism, adhd, developmental delays, very poor motor skills.)
I'll be happy to vote Conservative. I wouldn't trust Labour to run a bath never mind the country.

kateandme · 27/11/2019 16:30

because to help the nhs you also need other things to be helped.social care, schools, eating disordeers, mental health, cost of living, social clubs and young people etc.becasue this stops so much sickness.so much depression,so much hate and people health nose diving because other things in their lives are in the gutter too.

Legoandloldolls · 27/11/2019 16:31

It's a terrible bunch of options. I dont want to vote for anyone but I will as I always vote. You have a lieing protect the rich one, a pure idiot who could run a shopping trolley - forget the UK and lib dems who never get it.

It's like voting for your least hated idiot.

Lilyflower1 · 27/11/2019 16:33

The Conservative party is never going to sell the NHS down the river. it's a scare story. The Blair New Labour government opened up the NHS to an internal market and to controlled private initiatives and companies to increase efficiency and to deliver more and better services.

Voting for Labour now means voting for a hard left Marxist governent which will crash the economy and this is a far bigger danger to the NHS than any other.

I do not think any one party has all the answers and I am far from being a 'my party, right or wrong' voter but it is clear that this is the vote of a lifetime.

It is not about Brexit or the NHS or any one thing.

It is solely about keeping Corbyn, McDonnell and other Marxists from getting the power they crave.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 27/11/2019 16:35

I emailed my LD MP about their policies on women’s right to single sex spaces. She didn’t bother to reply. I can’t bring myself to vote for any of them. They’re all a bloody disaster so it’s either don’t vote or vote Green which is a wasted vote. What a depressing situation.

Bibbidybobbitysplated · 27/11/2019 16:39

Has he actually shown anyone the proof yet? Thats what I'm confused about

Deathgrip · 27/11/2019 16:42

The Conservative party is never going to sell the NHS down the river. it's a scare story.

A scare story from their own minutes or their own meetings?

curlykaren · 27/11/2019 16:44

@maddy68 the concluding paragraph on 'Communications' has left me feeling creeped out, the sinister machiavellian undertones shiver

Venger · 27/11/2019 16:45

Has he actually shown anyone the proof yet? Thats what I'm confused about

He handed out copies of the document at the press conference, didn't he?

The document states that, as far as the US are concerned, everything is to play for in the event of a no deal Brexit. That's worrying.

blubelle7 · 27/11/2019 16:46

YANBU, pregnancy (even if it ends in miscarriage or abortion) and childbirth are pre-existing conditions. How the fuck is any woman supposed to be able to get health insurance? The Tories have decimated all public services and will do far worse in 5 years. The country is already on its knees, what more in 5 years

Nonnymum · 27/11/2019 16:47

If you are are worried about womens rights don't vote for Johnson.
