This one ->

www.itv.com/news/2019-11-27/jeremy-corbyn-says-uncensored-documents-show-nhs-is-part-of-toxic-post-brexit-trade-talks-with-us/

I had already decided to vote for the conservatives, mainly because I couldn't bring myself to vote for any of the others who seem hell bent on gleefully ripping up womens rights. I've always voted so abstaining/spoiling wasn't an option.

But after reading/watching the above I think I am going to switch to voting labour. We are a disabled family, and could never afford to pay for healthcare (and I doubt insurance would touch us with a barge pole).

I don't like Momentum/Corbyn really but I'd rather complain and fight for my right to a single sex ward than not be able to use one at all

Re: brexit I voted remain in the last referendum but to be honest just have fatigue about the whole thing, so I'm not basing my vote on any of that. (Though seems a second vote isn't that terrible an idea).

Just posting because I can't see anything on here about this yet and I've gone from feeling quietly confident that Conservatives would win to feeling nervous about it now. Anyone else?

I can't trust Corbyn he supports terrorism and in the past said he would sell our submarines so if he did that then what protection would we have? I just don't trust him. I feel Boris hasn't been given a proper chance either so I know where my vote is going

Deathgrip · 27/11/2019 15:39

The NHS has never been managed effectively. Does that mean it can’t be? Of course not. The labour pledges aren’t just throwing money at it, have you read them?

Will the NHS be perfect under Labour? I highly doubt it will ever be perfect. But it will still exist. It will be funded and steps will be taken to improve things, which is the opposite of what’s happened under this government.

Considermesometimes · 27/11/2019 15:41

death Why are you on every single thread championing Corbyn if you are not a labour supporter?!! That is truly messed up. At least have the decency to own up to your persuasions!

You are most definitely a Momentum lover, and you are most definitely someone that is on here all of the time with one link or another spouting the joys of life under Labour. The only fly in the ointment is that we are real people on here, and can see for ourselves the policies, and some of us are truly frightened by them. People are in utter disbelief, aghast at the manifesto is the truth of the matter.

You can not change the fact Corbyn will sink us, even member of his own party think so. End of. I am not talking about this with you anymore because it is pointless, you are robotic in your insistence that he is good for our country, when we damn well know he will finish us.

CodenameVillanelle · 27/11/2019 15:41

YABU to have considered voting conservative if you care about women's rights. For goodness sake - self id is not a done deal whereas with the tories austerity, destroyed NHS and hard brexit definitely is.
Vote labour to save the NHS and the welfare state and we can sort out self id after

Womenwotlunch · 27/11/2019 15:42

I am seriously worried about the NHS.
I really don’t trust Boris

Deathgrip · 27/11/2019 15:44

suports terrorism

Maybe read another perspective on that and see what you think is more likely after looking at the linked evidence?

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/nov/20/corbyn-terrorist-sympathiser-double-standards

Said he would sell submarines? Nope
www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-politics-35337432

i just don’t trust him

Instead you trust a man who has been proven to lie constantly, at every opportunity, and suspended Parliament illegally to try and push through a no deal result for his chums in America?

PaddyF0dder · 27/11/2019 15:45

@MondeoFan

“ I feel Boris hasn't been given a proper chance”

Wow. An aristocratic professional politician, in public life for decades, who has held multiple senior positions over the years, “hasn’t been given a proper chance”.

WTF?

Sakura7 · 27/11/2019 15:46

It is going to end very badly for those that do not have the option to leave the country.

Oh give over. Social democratic policies are normal in many European countries, and they work very well. Of course those countries don't have a rabid right wing press influencing the public with their scaremongering.

The biggest threat to economic stability in the UK is a hard (or no deal) Brexit. Economists agree. Who is the Brexit cheerleader again?

Deathgrip · 27/11/2019 15:48

Why are you on every single thread championing Corbyn if you are not a labour supporter?!! That is truly messed up. At least have the decency to own up to your persuasions!

I said I’m not a Labour member nor am I a Momentum member. I’ve only voted Labour at the last election and will do so again here. I never said I don’t support them.

I am living with the horrific impact of this government’s policies. Of course I support a party who want things to change.

You can not change the fact Corbyn will sink us, even member of his own party think so. End of. I am not talking about this with you anymore because it is pointless, you are robotic in your insistence that he is good for our country, when we damn well know he will finish us.

Hey you said “end of” so you must be right. Not going to address me the economists who disagree with you? Did you read the letter? Thought not.

Gottobefree · 27/11/2019 15:48

YANBU ! go with your gut

longtimelurkerhelen · 27/11/2019 15:50

And the national debt that’s doubled under those paragons of prudence, the Tories. Funny how Labour supporters apparently wanted the Tories to cut the deficit much faster, despite the fact that they cried and whined about “austerity” (i.e. reducing the deficit) every day that the Tories did it

Funny how even though we've had "austerity" for years the debt has doubled. Where has the money gone?

Sakura7 · 27/11/2019 15:50

I can't trust Corbyn he supports terrorism

Confused

Do you actually, genuinely, believe that? If so, what evidence do you have to support your view?

"The Sun said he supports the IRA" isn't a valid argument by the way.

MondeoFan · 27/11/2019 15:57

I like Boris I dislike Corbyn. Boris might seem like the class clown but in time you never know he might end up being the best we've ever had.
And indeed Corbyn supports IRA

Coyoacan · 27/11/2019 16:00

If you think that we're heading for healthcare ceasing to be free at the point of use, you've got the wrong end of the stick

I don't live in the UK, but do people seriously think that there will be enough government funds to pay for health services and give a profit to the private companies providing it? That just doesn't make sense.

A friend of mine sells health insurance and private hospitals charge ridiculous amounts for things like aspirin. Is the government going to be able to pay that?

1moresurvey · 27/11/2019 16:01

So this document, which isn't really a document it's just lots of documented minutes from lots of meetings, over a 2yr period. About trade possibilities that may or may not happen between pharmaceutical companies, if Brexit does ever happen.
Gets leaked by Corbyn and to show how Boris is selling the NHS?
I'm sure Boris hasn't been PM during ANY of these talks, Brexit is nowhere near a done deal yet, and Corbyn should concentrate on trying to deal with answering a simple question about his own political agenda, morals and ethics instead of slinging mud and whipping up hysteria.

Deathgrip · 27/11/2019 16:01

*The biggest threat to economic stability in the UK is a hard (or no deal) Brexit. Economists agree. Who is the Brexit cheerleader again?

Indeed. And anyone who reads those documents now understands:

  • Johnson explicitly wants a no deal brexit
  • Johnson prorogued Parliament to try and force a no deal Brexit
  • this is why he barely bothered to negotiate with the EU
  • the reason he’s set an absolute deadline to leave is not because he wants it “done” - it’s because he knows the only way that happens is no deal

He can’t possibly deny it - well, knowing him he will try, but anyone with any objectivity can surely see what he is now.

I’m a consultant doctor in the NHS.

I would never in a million years vote Tory.

If I was in england I’d vote labour or greens.

Thankfully I have the option of voting SNP, which I shall do.

Brexit is nowhere near a done deal yet

If the tories get back in, it is. And it will be no deal as his WA won’t get through Parliament. The tories even if they win will be very unlikely to have a significant majority.

Deathgrip · 27/11/2019 16:11

Not those on the upper end of the payscale, like my DH (out campaigning for the local Conservatives at the weekend) or his friends. Even our nursing friends favour Boris, on the whole.

Oh I see. You’ll be okay under either party, so why not throw other people’s disabled children (and your DH’s patients) under the bus since it will save you some cash.

Deathgrip · 27/11/2019 16:13

Yes, Jezza is definitely the unluckiest non-terrorist sympathiser in the world

Care to post a link so I can fact check that? Posting in text without a link is hugely suspect unless of course no rational person would trust the source...

Sakura7 · 27/11/2019 16:15

And indeed Corbyn supports IRA

Well that would be difficult seeing as it doesn't actually exist anymore. But presuming you're speaking of the past, you haven't been able to provide evidence of that as requested. You're just spouting nonsense.

Sakura7 · 27/11/2019 16:16

Not those on the upper end of the payscale, like my DH (out campaigning for the local Conservatives at the weekend) or his friends.

Oh well that's ok then Hmm

Blkllama · 27/11/2019 16:17

YANBU. Tories have sold out a lot of the NHS already. Look at SEN provision and mental health services. SEN children locked up in private company facilities with few legal rights. 70% Private now I think.

Large Private SEN providers do little for the children but shovel money into shareholders pockets and owners.

I am voting Labour because I want a NHS for my children.

I am voting Labour to restore some form of sanity into the education system.
I am voting Labour because there is no access to justice unless you are rich. The legal system is on its knees and is only accessible to those with money.
