I take DS to swimming. I got the times wrong turned up for the wrong lesson. I decide to go back to the changing room to wait. I find it hard to breath in the pool area, 30 minutes is ok, an hour and I can feel my asthma begin to act up.

There is a dad there getting his daughters dressed (fine) he was in the pool and he's down to his underwear.

Another dad arrives with his son, him and my DS are in the same lesson.

Anyways dad of daughters decides to get dressed... he drops his pants and is stark naked in front of his daughters. He is also by the door so if another parent was coming in their child would have walked into his penis! And it wasn't less than a minute because he was drying himself as well 🤢...

There are cubicles. He could have used a towel as well.

Why would and adult choose to get naked in a dressing room at a swim lesson for children with strangers around.

AIBU to find it bizarre?

His bum was also hairy and unattractive 🤢.

OP why do you feel that the fact your child was there trumps this man's right to use the male changing facilities in the way in which he did?

GrannyBags · 27/11/2019 16:12

This is a wind up, right? Can’t believe this thread is still going.

Oh dear. I got wet 4 times today doing school runs, 20 mins at a time. This is the UK, it rains. Men and boys are entitled to change without woman sat in there for 30minutes. Your desire not to get wet does not trump their right to change without you staring at them. You didn't need to go outside anyway there was a female changing room right there.

spacepyramid · 27/11/2019 16:27

NZ is certainly warm enough for sea swimming - where we lived people would be swimming in the sea at this time of year.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 27/11/2019 16:29

If I saw an adult sitting in the changing room of the opposite sex, just watching people get undressed, I would suspect their motives and report them.

Winesalot · 27/11/2019 16:30

sorry spacepyramid I was focusing on the ‘hot’ areas. Of course there would be sea swimming in NZ.

JoannaObrien · 27/11/2019 16:30

I cannot believe this thread is still here!

I personally would never enter a men's changing room, apart from the smell it is not place that women would want to visit ... I think this thread is a wind-up but also very funny. I also think my husband needs to shave his hairy arse tonight because it is looking a little bit untidy Grin

Vulpine · 27/11/2019 16:35

I would have asked you to leave

spanglydangly · 27/11/2019 16:41

@pinkboa my suggestion is that you get the times of the swimming lesson right!

Poor men being ogled at for 20 mins by you! Outrageous!

pinkboa · 27/11/2019 16:54

@Teachermaths
A 2 year old in nappies... where else would he take him?

Are there many men's with changing facilities? Last I checked they were either paired with the disabled or in the ladies...

No you clearly didn't read.

@FrangipaniBlue

I'm not going back outside.. I said what I said.

@Biancadelrioisback

Where did I say that?

@FrancisCrawford

You again, oh God save us! Thought you'd moved on to better things. 😂.

@my2bundles
Me too... still doesn't change the fact I wasn't going to leave the building and walk back to my car.... 😐.

@Hearhoovesthinkzebras
That's quite an assumption... wow.

@JoannaObrien

At this point it is.. as I keep reiterating... some people seem to be the professionally offended and are intent on making their point! A point made at about 5 posts in, to which I have conceded.

It's at a school not not men men... so it doesn't smell. It's one toilet with a door... two showers and open space.

And the reasons you say you wouldn't enter are the reasons my husband says he wouldn't take our daughter into one. Apparently that's also wrong.

@Vulpine
Well maybe if you're in there next time ask away. I'll happily oblige.

@spanglydangly
He came in at the end of his lesson... which is when my sons lesson starts... so how does that equate to 20minutes? When I had already been sat there by with my son for that amount of time...

Did you read at all?

OP posts:
Oldfail · 27/11/2019 16:56

OP. Were you expecting the male to change or was this a swimming lesson where the children go in while parents sit on the side?

JoannaObrien · 27/11/2019 16:59

@pinkboa

Does the school know about this thread?

spanglydangly · 27/11/2019 17:00

@pinkboa your OP doesn't indicate that and to be honest I've not ready very many of your updates they are very wordy and repetitive!

Did it never occur to you that no other mothers with sons were in the changing room? Just you and your son?

SimonJT · 27/11/2019 17:01

@pinkboa I noticed you ignored my post where I stated that I’m going to sit in the ladies changing room on sunday and stare at naked bums and then complain about the amount of body hair.

Odd that you think men should be subjected to the above, I assume you ignored my post as you think it would be wrong for me a man to sit and oggle in the women’s and it reveals you for what you are, a pervert.

JoannaObrien · 27/11/2019 17:05

@SimonJT

It makes a change because it is usually the men doing the oggling ..

Bigearringsbigsmile · 27/11/2019 17:06

Has anybody asked what kind of pool offers lessons to still in nappies 2 year olds that dont involve the parent/carer actually being in the pool with the child?
A 2 year old needs a 1:1 ratio.

my2bundles · 27/11/2019 17:08

And to repeat you did not have to leave the building, you could and should have used the ladies . Repeating because this fact seems to have gone straight over your head the first 100 times.

GrannyBags · 27/11/2019 17:09

@Bigearringsbigsmile
Good point

Whyyyyytho · 27/11/2019 17:15

@JoannaObrien that doesn’t make it acceptable does it?

Teachermaths · 27/11/2019 17:20

Erm nowhere have you mentioned nappies until now.

A lot of 2yos are toilet trained.

Nonnymum · 27/11/2019 17:21

I'm also a bit confused about the set up. All the pools I have been to have separate male and female changing rooms and/ or separate cubicles that include family rooms. But I don't know any with unisex open plan changing rooms. Where is the pool?

Practicalmagico · 27/11/2019 17:24

You went into the men’s?!?! 😂 blimey

Trebla · 27/11/2019 17:26

It's a changing room. People change in there. You were the one hanging out not changing. His behaviour was appropriate for the context. Men have a penis and bottom. Can you imagine if this were written from the perspective of a man to a woman. Specifically with the value judgement about the attractiveness of his bottom. Seriously, get a grip of yourself.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 27/11/2019 17:27

But I don't know any with unisex open plan changing rooms

This wasn't a unisex changing room.

The op Sony took it upon herself to go and sit in the men's changing room.
