There isn’t a budget. They have said it wouldn’t cost anything. Apparently they are going to use the profits to issue government bonds to shareholders as payment.

  1. What is the point of nationalisation then - Labour said the profits would be invested back ‘for the good of us all’. This can’t happen until owner/shareholder debts are met.
  1. Somebody must have forgotten to mention the huge pension liabilities these companies have......

Maybe the pensions are being democratically redistributed, a la Philip Green.

Under a corbyn government our household would be approximately £3000 down per year and we're not rich by anyone's standards. He would be an absolute disaster for so many from across the classes, and our children and grandchildren will get the joy of footing the bill as well as us now.

ajandjjmum · 29/11/2019 09:09

Alsohuman is clearly being disingenuous.

Alsohuman · 29/11/2019 09:37

Am I, dear?

curlykaren · 29/11/2019 09:40

If your household will be down £3000 per year then you are clearly rich my many peoples standard.

ajandjjmum · 29/11/2019 09:41

Probably what you're paid for, so don't worry about it. Grin

Alsohuman · 29/11/2019 09:59

Of course it is, dear. I won’t bother with the silly face.

EntropyRising · 29/11/2019 10:06

Sure, anyone who earns less than them.

I read an article yesterday about the psychological effect of money, people are hard-wired to redefine their definition of wealth as they cross their previously established thresholds.

So a person who is making 20K thinks 40K is rich. If they start making 40K, they no longer define it as rich; maybe they now view it as 80K. And so on.

You occasionally find people who say 'I'm rich, I can pay more'. They're in the minority, and some of them are lying.

PreseaCombatir · 29/11/2019 12:58

I can’t believe a fully grown adult doesn’t know what ‘additional tax liabilities’ means, but can understand and dispute ‘disingenuous’

howabout · 29/11/2019 13:05

Or in the words of Stanley and Michael ... let's not debate prepositions and propositions.
