It’s ‘best of a bad bunch’ in my case but there are three threads petrified of BJ/Tories so wondered if any MN Tories would like to gather here!

So I should also be aware of the wild confirmation bias of the guardian then @EffervescentElephant ? In that case I think you should have a word with Woolie.

woolie34 · 25/11/2019 14:07

@ OK won't do it again

GhostofFrankGrimes · 25/11/2019 14:07

I bet people in finance were delighted when financial jobs started moving out of London and over to Dublin and Germany post referendum Hmm

Chattybum · 25/11/2019 14:07

I don't think she got the memo...

woolie34 · 25/11/2019 14:08

@singinglily oops forgot to @ so you can see, won't do it again

JKScot4 · 25/11/2019 14:08

I’m loving how despite twice mentioning Boris’ complete lack of morals it’s being ignored because pp know they are selfish short sighted hypocrites. Hey who cares if the poor and disabled die as long as you get a tax break eh?

scaryteacher · 25/11/2019 14:08

Can I ask on a personal level if you read a post on MN about someone’s DH who was a serial cheat and liar, a racist and had a child he refused to acknowledge, what would you think of him?
Yet you think these are admirable qualities for a PM 🙄🙄
Women consistently voting against their own selves

You can be a shit bag of a human being, but still excellent at your job. Go figure. The PM is a politician. I'm not expecting Mother Theresa (and she wasn't as wonderful as she was painted either)..

SingingLily · 25/11/2019 14:09

Thank you, Effervescent, genuinely. I offer support on a sensitive thread so can't, unfortunately. However, I really hoped Woolie would take notice the first time. Let's hope the message gets through this time. Smile

jakeyboy1 · 25/11/2019 14:10

@JKScot4 I'm sure Boris is about as moral as the local stray tomcat. I don't like it but I still think it's better than a terrorist sympathiser who can't commit a yes or no on Brexit.

Chattybum · 25/11/2019 14:10

@GhostofFrankGrimes no that was ok because all the French financiers who were getting hammered by Macron moved over here. Funny that.

SingingLily · 25/11/2019 14:10

Oh dear oh dear oh dear.

Woolie, I've asked you nicely twice now. You've done it three times. Pack it in.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 25/11/2019 14:11

Genuinely interested to know why anyone finds Jeremy Corbyn terrifying

Then perhaps look at any of the countless threads ... it's all there, along with the reasons so may detest Boris too

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 25/11/2019 14:11

JKScot4

Maybe, unlike the current Labour Party the Conservative Party isn’t a personality cult.

woolie34 · 25/11/2019 14:12

@chattybum not seen where the guardian was mentioned must have missed it. But like I said, you're right, we can all agree we chose different sources to gain our views. I asked for someone else's just to see if I was missing something. I wasn't. I said I wasn't. And that was it. Not sure why all the animosity

woolie34 · 25/11/2019 14:12

@singinglily sorry!

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 25/11/2019 14:12

For the record, I actively dislike Boris but I think the Conservative Party is the better option.

Jenpop234 · 25/11/2019 14:13

Best of a bad bunch! Having looked at the policies, conservatives seems to be the only party who hasn't spent a stupid amount, will stop endless re votes and referendums. Are their policies amazing? Not really, but voting Tory is the sensible option to create jobs and a stronger economy.

Chattybum · 25/11/2019 14:14

You asked for sources and then claimed they were biased and therefore irrelevant @woolie34. You really need to stop contradicting yourself.

SingingLily · 25/11/2019 14:14

For Christ's sake.

Unexpected comprehension problem in the bagging area.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 25/11/2019 14:14

Under johnson the Tories are a personality cult. Loveable, affable, bumbling Boris Hmm First PM the population are supposed to be on first name terms with.

GiveHerHellFromUs · 25/11/2019 14:15

@GhostofFrankGrimes Thatcher is referred to as Maggie, for goodness sake

JKScot4 · 25/11/2019 14:16

But of a shitbag but good at his job 🤣🤣🤣
Terrorist sympathiser? Stop reading the DM and Express 🤣🤣
The hypocrisy is strong here.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 25/11/2019 14:16

Jenpop, you didnt think the Tories spent a stupid amount on get ready for brexit ads, brexit planning? All to make the country poorer.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 25/11/2019 14:16

As for the help to save scheme.

It’s a good scheme aimed at people on UC/Tax credits. People don’t just save to buy houses Hmm, they save to buy christmas/birthday presents for their kids, fill up their oil tanks, buy a car to help them get jobs, start a small business to ease them out of poverty, start an educational training course, buy a laptop, a deposit to rent a better house, pay off debts that may be keeping them in poverty etc... and maybe, yes, shock horror, a person in poverty might like to save over several years to take their family on a well deserved holiday. It’s a pretty wide spectrum really. Anything that encourages saving and not debt is good news to me, I used to save back when we had next to nothing, even if it was just a few pounds a week. When the washing machine broke, it meant we could afford to replace it. When my kids needed new shoes, it meant I didn’t need to use credit cards, worsening our situation etc... I appreciate that not all people even have a pound spare, but if you CAN find a way, why would a scheme that significantly boosts that effort, in a way, no other savings account can, not be welcomed with open arms? Confused

GhostofFrankGrimes · 25/11/2019 14:17

Thatcher was referred to by both names, johnson almost exclusively as boris.
