If so, where will you be going?

Yes, very easy for me to work elsewhere. I won’t live in what a socialist country. I can’t believe anyone with half a brain would even consider voting for Labour.

AnnieAnt · 21/11/2019 21:16

No.

But it will be very difficult to live in SE anymore looking at plans; our outgoings are based on our salaries.

Would be inclined to sell up and move closer to family in UK - remove the long commute, high housing costs and both work part time jobs.

longtimelurkerhelen · 21/11/2019 21:16

No Companies are going to leave, they will be making less profit but still profit. Why would they not still trade here if they are making money?

People earning over £150,000 have accountants that get creative to help them NOT pay that much tax.

No one is going to leave, or so few that there will be no effect.

I doubt even half the proposals in the manifesto will come to fruition, but if Labour only do 10% it will be a vastly better country.

I can’t understand why anyone would vote Tory, look at the state this country is in, everywhere you look, fear, hate, division and hostile environment. 120,000 (at least) preventable deaths. They have blood on their hands.

Alsohuman · 21/11/2019 21:18

I can’t believe anyone with half a brain would even consider voting for Labour.

I can’t believe anyone with a vestige of a heart would even consider voting Tory.

littlepaddypaws · 21/11/2019 21:20

where are the 120,00 [at least] preventable deaths coming from long not being funny but i'm curious as to this as i've heard it before on here but don't understand how these numbers come about.

Fr0thandBubble · 21/11/2019 21:20

@Alsohuman What a ridiculous statement. What exactly about the Conservative manifesto do you deem to be “heartless”.

Pomley · 21/11/2019 21:20

It is possible to not be a fan of the Tories and also think Corbyn's manifesto is pie in the sky, it doesn't have to be one or the other. The real conondrum is deciding who to vote for.

Kirigiri · 21/11/2019 21:20

No, we'll be holding a massive party to celebrate the end of this vicious, pitiless Tory regime of ideological austerity. It's not likely to happen though, unfortunately

This this this

maddening · 21/11/2019 21:22

No, however if brexit happens maybe, Holland or Sweden

FriedasCarLoad · 21/11/2019 21:23

I can’t believe anyone with half a brain would even consider voting for Labour

I can’t believe anyone with a vestige of a heart would even consider voting Tory

Maybe you should each have a civilised face-to-face conversation with someone of the opposite viewpoint and listen, suspending judgement?

The truth is that there are plenty of people who are both intelligent and compassionate who vote for each of the main parties.

Living in a bubble of those with whom you agree, isn’t healthy for your own mind or for society.

Trewser · 21/11/2019 21:24

I can’t believe anyone with a vestige of a heart would even consider voting Tory

This ridiculous hyperbole just makes me want to distance myself from the current Labour party and all those who slavishly follow them. It's like a nasty cult.

longtimelurkerhelen · 21/11/2019 21:25

@littlepaddypaws

You can google it, but here is a link

www.independent.co.uk/news/health/tory-austerity-deaths-study-report-people-die-social-care-government-policy-a8057306.html

That figure does not include all the people that died within 6 months of being found fit for work, which if memory serves was approx 13,000. The mortality rate for the sick and disabled is obviously higher that the healthy population but there was a high increase in the death rate from 2010 - 2015 which is when the DWP would not release anymore figures, presumably because they were even higher.

Willowcat77 · 21/11/2019 21:26

No I will be happy if Labour get in because their Manifesto is awesome and the cruel years of Tory austerity will be over 🙂

Alsohuman · 21/11/2019 21:27

But you’re happy with the corresponding statement about a brain @Trewser. Hypocritical much?

WithTheTide · 21/11/2019 21:27

It would make staying more attractive. For the many not the few appeals to me. A fair and equitable society is surely something to aspire to.

Kirigiri · 21/11/2019 21:28

Cuts to benefits, homeless services, drug services, mental health services, youth services etc etc. Removing support from the most vulnerable members of our society. Privatisation of NHS services. A PM who seems to do what he wants and says what he wants with no repercussions because he’s apparently funny. Finally there’s someone who actually gives me hope - Corbyn may not be perfect but his values earn him my respect

Trewser · 21/11/2019 21:30

A fair and equitable society is surely something to aspire to

Yes it is. But i dont think the current Labour party are fair or equitable.

LapsedPacifist · 21/11/2019 21:33

Yeah, let's all move to sunny Spain, or the Dordogne!! , Oh hang on. Errm, as I recall, 52% of the population recently voted remove the rights of 100% of the population to seamlessly move to and work in any one of the other 22 member states in the EU, so I'm curious as to where exactly the OP had in mind? Last time I checked, moving to the US, Canada or Australia for example is a very very difficult process.

I've been voting in general elections for the last 40 years, and every time without fail, the Tories have peddled the tired old rhetoric that a Labour government will bankrupt the economy overnight, wealth-creators and higher-tax-payers will flee the country in droves and ordinary folk will be starving on the street. 10 years of Tory austerity has resulted in a massively indebted economy, homelessness and use of food banks have skyrocketed and the NHS is on the point of collapse. How anyone could believe the country is safe in their hands beggars belief.

happinessischocolate · 21/11/2019 21:36

No, but if the Tories get in again and austerity continues I will campaign for Welsh and Scottish independence and stay where I am.

I think Wales and Scotland are going to get quite full if the get independence.

Solihooley · 21/11/2019 21:41

The tax increase will be the same business rate as it was in 2010. I wouldn’t call that ‘insane’. It will be more in line with most other major EU countries will it not? Funnily enough they have much better public services. As for individuals earning over 80k paying a bit more tax, well I’d hardly call that insane either. They are vastly more wealthy than most people in this country.

You know what I would call ‘insane’ ? The damning U.N report into poverty in the U.K. the ‘5th largest economy’ as we’re always told. Selling our world revered NHS for a US trade deal? Insane. I could go on. You get the picture.

I will be buying my adult children a one way ticket out of GB if the Torys get back in again. Our young people do not stand a chance of a decent life under a Tory government. Labour is their only hope.

Sayhellotothethings · 21/11/2019 21:43

If Labour win I will be hosting a party (more of a lunch with a bottle of wine) to celebrate the end of nearly 10 years of austerity, people struggling to make ends meet, privatisation, and closet racism.

Justanotherlurker · 21/11/2019 21:44

No Companies are going to leave, they will be making less profit but still profit. Why would they not still trade here if they are making money?

That is false on so many levels.

There is a reason why Facebook etc etc have headquarters in Ireland, you are just parroting the same rhetoric of arch brexiteers of how great our country is and not understanding the globalised interconnected world, the talent will just move overseas (like it does now but we won't be the net importer)

RedSheep73 · 21/11/2019 21:45

Considering leaving it if Boris gets back in
