Me too🌹

Listeningtoday · 21/11/2019 19:43

No. Maybe we will leave if the tories stay in power. I have a tempting option in Canada.

malfoylovespotter · 21/11/2019 19:43

I'd consider Le sing if the Tories win again.

MissingLinker · 21/11/2019 19:44

No, currently the possibility (however small) of Labour getting in is the main thing enticing me to stay here.

Actionhasmagic · 21/11/2019 19:45

Yes please leave and take the rest of Johnson’s gang with you

DameFanny · 21/11/2019 19:46

Are you encouraging political or economic migration OP?

Pomley · 21/11/2019 19:46

No, there will be free broadband, wahoo.

StoutDrinker2019 · 21/11/2019 19:46

The labour manifesto calls for systemic change. We desperately need this direction, the status quo only works for the few. Unfortunately it's never going to happen because people don't understand economics and so will support the party that is most likely to screw them over.

Oliversmumsarmy · 21/11/2019 19:47

Spain Dh has to stay because he has cancer so will commute. My income will be decimated.

I can set up business pretty much anywhere

BreadSauceHmm · 21/11/2019 19:47

Nope and we'll be having a street party! 😉

SQLCat · 21/11/2019 19:48

We’ll be looking at Canada if the DUP and Tories get in.

NewName73 · 21/11/2019 19:48

I'd be far more worried about a Tory majority than a Labour-led coalition.

I really hope neither of them gets a majority.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 21/11/2019 19:48

Nope...not going anywhere

KittenLedWeaning · 21/11/2019 19:48

Nope.

ThatssomebadhatHarry · 21/11/2019 19:50

The Tories are not even bothering to cover up their lies any more. The Tove channel 4 interview today was shocking.

Jillyhilly · 21/11/2019 19:52

I wouldn’t leave but it would be interesting, if depressing, to watch yet another generation wake up to the realisation that far left policies don’t work.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 21/11/2019 19:52

Stout drinker. I agree with you, but l also think that if the Tories win this time, the next GE will return a strong left wing result. Similar to after WW2. It will happen at some point.

StealthPolarBear · 21/11/2019 19:53

We're seriously considering Scotland if Boris wins, which he will. They may not make it into the EU as independent but I'd rather be in a pro remain country anyway.

Alanna1 · 21/11/2019 19:54

No. I don’t believe they will get in, but if they do it will be good for the country to have a period of change, reversing the harshness of austerity and another referendum. I disagree with many of JC’s policies but leaving the country because of a democratic outcome electing him is ridiculous.

Songsofexperience · 21/11/2019 19:55

Perhaps, but the Tory plan to go No Deal after transition and align with the US won't work either.

JustDanceAddict · 21/11/2019 19:56

No, and I’m Jewish too (but wouldn’t vote Labour now).

Oliversmumsarmy · 21/11/2019 19:58

Or if Dp was able to we could end up in the US.
He works for an American company.

I remember a general election many years ago when all sort of "celebs" kept threatening to leave if Labour got in - and i thought "well off you fuck then, close the door behind you

The problem is when the celebrities and business people did leave when Labour did something similar it was the poorest workers in society who ended up paying the bill.

I was one of those workers and it didn’t pay me to work.
I actually gave up my job so I could have more income.

Notonthestairs · 21/11/2019 19:59

We are far more worried about a Tory majority and a hard Brexit in Jan 2021 and the likes of Raab, JRM and Patel getting 5 years to reduce workers rights, increase austerity etc.
Get Brexit done my arse.

Dragongirl10 · 21/11/2019 19:59

*Corbyn will bankrupt the country. I’m not one of the richest 5% that will apparently be bankrolling everything and I would love to be able to vote for a credible liberal, fair and honest candidate. The people and companies that he will tax heavily will have the means and the motivation to flee; and flee they will. So the tax burden will roll downwards to the lower earners whilst our national debt grows ever larger. Meanwhile, those that create the wealth and drive industry in this country will have left. The state can’t employ everyone so what happens when employment goes into freefall? When corporation tax receipts fall because the rate has been hiked so much that the big companies simply leave? Where will the cash come from to fund everything?

I’m all for a fairer more compassionate politics but take it from me, voting for that man is not the way to get there.*

THIS^^

We would leave as having been in business all my life, and never avoided any tax ever, l am not willing to see my secure retirement eaten away by Corbyn's ludicrous unsustainable spending and aggresive taxation on the 'secure but not exceptionally wealthy' people like myself.
He WILL cripple the country with excessive debt, and he won't be able to deliver what he says he will, and what many are voting for.

My Dh works in an industry where many are high earners, and without exception, every one has an exit plan. These people can work in many major financial hubs around the world....ypou may say who cares...but we should all care about losing the amount of tax they pay which goes into our services.
Corbyn hates business and enterprise, without which Britain will suffer badly. I wish you could all see that.

StealthPolarBear · 21/11/2019 20:00

We're not thay far from Scotland so it wouldn't be a huge move :)
