If so, where will you be going?

@Justanotherlurker

Who exactly do you think is a social media activist? If you have doubts, please report those posters, I'm sure MNHQ will respond appropriately.

I'm not aggressive, you ignoring the points I raised and still try to muddy the waters highlights your posts than it does mine

I'm sorry which points did I ignore? I am not trying to muddy the waters, I believe everything I have posted to be true. If you have factual evidence to disprove anything I have said, please enlighten me.

Justanotherlurker · 22/11/2019 22:10

Again, it’s the tories who have been open about paying people to sing their praises on the internet. And there are many regular posters here, myself included, using their regular usernames saying precisely the same thing.

To even try and spin this line as one sided is totally ignorant, many long standing posters have openly come out as labour activists in previous GE, and the parroting of momentum lines of attack is obvious, you picking up on this point does highlight that you havent been in the recent discord though.

People are dying because of this government’s policies. The country is worse off by almost every measure because of their policies. So you can spout utter nonsense as much as you like but in no universe is another tory term the best option for this country or the vast majority of people in it.

Imagine saying this without trying to refute my previous points and still pretend you are not just shilling.

longtimelurkerhelen · 22/11/2019 22:19

@Solihooley I also like Kier Starmer. He seems to be a reasonable man.

I also think Labour should raise the tax for lower earners as well to enable them to achive their aims. I can see how how the highest 5% of wage earners think it is unfair, but it is also not fair that people on NMW work just as hard and still go hungry and have trouble paying their rent. I'm sure there could be a better balance.

Justanotherlurker · 22/11/2019 22:36

Is astroturfing your word for the day to be posted ad nauseum @Justanotherlurker?

When it is obvious then yes it is, you playing partisan politics and yet being unaware of the situation is why politics discussion is tribal shit is part of the problem.

MN is infiltrated with momentum bots, it is becoming a joke

longtimelurkerhelen · 22/11/2019 22:40

@Justanotherlurker Again which posters are you accusing of being momentum bots?

Strugglingmum73 · 22/11/2019 23:01

Definitely not. But it won’t happen anyway, more the pity

misspiggy19 · 22/11/2019 23:07

Nope, not going anywhere.

busybarbara · 22/11/2019 23:18

No but I’ll probably lay off a member of staff to cover the extra taxes we’ll be paying

TheBlueStocking · 22/11/2019 23:19

No!

TheBlueStocking · 22/11/2019 23:19

I can't actually believe people are that stupid to believe the anti-Labour propaganda.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 22/11/2019 23:20

I previously voted Tory

This is DH

Though i am well aware that astroturfing is going on from both tory and labour

And you might think you're not aggressive just but you are constantly rude to just about everyone. That may just be how you come across in the typed word though, and not how you are in real life

housebuyingistheworst · 22/11/2019 23:21

No. Lesser evil.

Twillow · 22/11/2019 23:28

I'm not a Momentum bot, but I did make a paltry £20 donation to them. The Tory campaign is absolutely vile, I've been watching it on Facebook and all the positive comments seem to made by either a) nutters who can't spell or use punctuation or b) posters who say ' We love you Boris!' but have very dodgy looking {fake} accounts and don't come back to engage in debate.
I don't know if there are Momentum bots, but there most certainly are Tory ones...

gamerwidow · 22/11/2019 23:34

The idea that the average person can just up and leave if the wrong person gets into government is laughable. Most of us have just got to get on with it regardless of who gets it.
Imagine saying yeah 'Fuck you mum you can manage your old age on your own' or 'just leave all your mates and everything you've known' to my DD just because Labour gets in is just ridiculous.
FWIW I don't particularly like Corbyn, I think under his leadership Labour has been slow to deal with antisemitism and their position on Brexit is confusing but I'd rather have Labour than the Tories.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 22/11/2019 23:35

The idea that the average person can just up and leave if the wrong person gets into government is laughable

Absolutely

Alsohuman · 22/11/2019 23:39

When it is obvious then yes it is, you playing partisan politics and yet being unaware of the situation is why politics discussion is tribal shit is part of the problem.

What does that even mean? I seem to remember partisan is another of your favourite words.

MissPepper8 · 22/11/2019 23:43

Always voted Labour, don't know who to vote for after Corbyn got in.. But hey we'll all have free superfast broadband 😐

Canada, I'm going to Canada.

Rosehip345 · 23/11/2019 00:17

Like a previous poster my husband is one that would likely pick up the huge tax bill of Corbyns government. He and his colleagues have all discussed the potential exit strategy. I love this country would love to not leave but if it just ends up not viable for us then we’ll have to.
The business he’s in removed two major offices from the UK when brexit was voted in (losing almost 400 jobs) and the majority of this is now between Germany and Denmark. If needs be we would relocate also.

Random18 · 23/11/2019 00:22

Nrtft

But seriously wtf

If I was going to abandon my country it would have been in 2016 when the lies won out.

I don't like JC but hes hes not going to bankrupt us.......that's the others

WagtailRobin · 23/11/2019 01:22

You're happy to stay as the Tories crucify the working class with policies designed to penalise the poorest in society, but you'll flee if Labour get in and implement a fairer system?

Woah, only on Mumsnet!

Merryweather80 · 23/11/2019 04:23

Corbin is nothing more than a conman after his dictatorship, with Diane Abbott doing the maths - and we all know she can't add up let alone help provide any kind of useful input.
Nationalisation will help no one. The rail systems will be a money pit, does everyone need free fibre optic bb? Nope. He won't help the poor and disabled at all, he will send the country into recession within a year - then everyone will be poor. Taxing the top five percent won't bring in anywhere near enough to cover his spending plans and business will leave the uk or fold.

Austerity is over. We all have a better future under the conservatives. We are being offered sensible government spending with good economic growth by Boris, fair for all. We haven't seen the best if him yet.
The problems of h the uk can't be wiped away overnight. We need a sensible plan that will take years to deliver before we are in a position where crime is lower, education is improved, standards of healthcare are improved.

Why would anyone vote for Corbin the conman. Open your eyes, do the maths. The IFS have and have said his economic strategy is utter lunacy.

Vote for Boris means a stable future for all with massive spending we can afford going into the services needed. Austerity was only necessary because of the mess the previous labour government left the country in. We would end up in the same mess all over again.

Don't get me started on Corbin's Brexit ideas. How very un-democratic. We voted, he wants to ignore our choice and have another vote because he doesn't like the result. Most of his own party have little to no respect for him because of the way he has led the party. He's a dictator, a racist, a liar and can not be trusted.

Boris’s Britain will be a better, brighter, stable, safer, fairer place to live for everyone.

JoObrien7 · 23/11/2019 04:36

Yes I will be leaving is he gets in power ... but I honestly believe he will not win. A lot of people can see that a lot of his ideas are extremely reckless and will bankrupt this country. For example free internet for all ... what will happen to virgin, sky, talk talk etc if he does this because they will no longer have a product to sell. I know a manager at BT at they are furious about this as are their share-holders. I feel that strongly about this that I have joined the Conservative party to help keep Labour out. I have lived through 2 Labour governments and they like to spend loads of money that we simple haven't got. I am not saying the Conservatives are perfect far from it but I don't want this country to turn into a little Russia with Corbyn dictating to me how I deal with my rental properties. No way will I be selling any of my houses to my tenants at a reduced price! The only reason I brought the properties was to let them gain in value and then sell them for my pension pot when I retire. I could go on and on about Corbyn who has sat on the bank benches for years and has been a thorn in the Labour party's side for many years always voting against their policies, Tony Blair (who I don't like btw) cannot stand the man.

JoObrien7 · 23/11/2019 04:37

@Merryweather80

Well said!

JoObrien7 · 23/11/2019 04:38

I know a manager at BT and they are furious about this

SinkGirl · 23/11/2019 05:20

JoObrien7 where to even start with your post:

Multiple people on this thread have explained how this government have harmed them, and shared information about how their policies have hurt others. 120k people dead due to heath and social care cuts. Hate crimes against every group have rocketed. Hundreds of thousands of children forced into poverty. Half of homeless families are in work. I’ve spoken myself of the impact of this government on my children who are disabled.

But you’re so angry that BT shareholders might have their shares bought, and what Corbyn might do about your multiple rental properties that you’ve joined the Conservatives.

You are the problem. I hope you realise this. You’ve joined a party which has chosen to harm people, especially people significantly worse off than you. Pensioner poverty is growing annually too. But hey, you’ve got tenants buying you a pension pot every month, so who cares about everyone else.

This sort of attitude is why our country is completely screwed.
