I'm too angry about brexit. And the effect it'll have on us all. I can see a tory majority happening and it sickens me. I don't know what's happened to ordinary people. They've fell for something that will make their lives worse, sold to them by an elite that has shafted them.

I can't fucking bare it.

Jeremy Corbyn lives in the clouds. If he gets in this country is fucked. No immigration control, no real idea of brexit and a magic money tree to fund everything.

MustardScreams · 19/11/2019 22:18

@happyandsingle why don’t you do some actual research instead of regurgitating headlines? It’s really not that difficult.

ssd · 19/11/2019 22:18

The tories have spent more than Labour.

What worries me is, we had a vote which is democratic, and one side won, while the otherside did everything to derail it. What if that had happened with the scottish referendum, or votes in the houses of parliament, whereby the losing side does not respect the vote. This has nothing to do with leaving the EU now, it is about democracy, and voting in a bunch of idiots from one side, or nut-cases from the other.

We had a referendum which is advisory, not legally binding, at a time when we had absolutely no idea what Brexit would entail, and based on a leave campaign which blatantly lied. The reason it has been derailed is that the deals available and leaving without a deal would all be demonstrably harmful to the country.

Giving people the opportunity to vote on the actual details of what’s involved is the only sensible policy.

TheGirlFromStoryville · 19/11/2019 22:18

I thought JC looked tired. I always get the impression that he lacks passion although that may just be his natural demeanour.

BJ won it but only just. Clear message on Brexit.

misspiggy19 · 19/11/2019 22:19

My opinion of Corbyn has changed after the debate. He came across far better than clueless Boris who couldn’t string a coherent sentence together.

Soen · 19/11/2019 22:19

Happyandsingle - seems JC isnt the only one with his head in the clouds.

Justanotherlurker · 19/11/2019 22:19

I remember the first leaders’ debate, I think it was in 2010. The contenders were Brown, Cameron & Clegg, none of whom were ideal PM material but next to Johnson & Corbyn they look like Churchill, Attlee and Lloyd George....

The common knowledge around 2010 was that no one really wanted to take power as everyone knew we was already in recession drastic austerity measures was needed (the EU even championed Browns initial austerity measures and the IMF and EU have said how well Cons did in illiminated it to a measured situation) the tired meme of it being ideological ignores many globalised factors and pretends the country resets after every GE.

We are in this situation because of Thatcher, Blair, Brown and Cameron there is no quick fix and everyone pretending there is, is just kicking the can further down the road, it's a shame people don't treat economics that they do the enviroment, nut just with the enviroment the underlying issue is that they expect the others to change, no introspection whatsoever.

TiceCream · 19/11/2019 22:21

Sadly I feel if Labour had a different leader they'd get in no problem
This. I can’t vote for a doddery old man with IRA links no matter what his policies are.

In any case, they totally lost me with their suggestion that I should sell my house cheap to anyone who rents it from me. Plus their ludicrous support for McDonalds staff who think they should earn more than nurses, teachers, police and firefighters. And their policy about requiring employers to offer flexible working to menopausal women will just result in even fewer older women being offered jobs.

CendrillonSings · 19/11/2019 22:22

I refuse to believe that even the most fervent tory supporter watched that bumbling twit “er...” his way through that debate and truly thought “great job Boris”.

Whereas I do believe that most Momentum drones saw Corbyn’s comical lack of a Brexit policy and thought “Yes, we’re really nailing it now!” Grin

cdtaylornats · 19/11/2019 22:24

Given that the EU has said negotiation is over how do you think Corbyn is going to negotiate a better deal?

happyandsingle · 19/11/2019 22:26

I'm not against JC as such but I dont think he would be good at running a country.
I like his policies for living wage and abolishing zero hours contract but the idea of a second referendum is bollocks.
And what is the deal with him and nicola sturgeon? Cant stand that woman.

ssd · 19/11/2019 22:26

Nicola sturgeon talks more sense than any of them.

magic money tree

Seriously? Have you read anything in the last 2 years? Those media soundbytes really work on you.

How much do you think the tories have spent on Brexit so far? Not to mention the £1bn bung to the DUP.

What about renewing contracts with ATOS and Maximus to screw over disabled people? That’s hundreds of millions paid out (and ATOS pays no U.K. tax by the way!), an utterly false economy.

People bang on about Labour wanting to give everyone free broadband - but Boris wants to subsidise private companies to the tune of £5bn to rollout fibre broadband across the country. A subsidy that will only increase private profits and wouldn’t give everyone access anyway, since it won’t be “profitable”. Yet another utility / service where the taxpayer funds the infrastructure allowing corporations to maximise their profits.

If you can’t see what’s going on here I don’t know how to explain it to you.

Corbyn is talking about increasing income tax for the top 5% of earners. Which includes himself, and he’s doing it for the benefit of the country - just as any changes to inheritance tax etc would affect him. Please point to a single tory policy which would adversely affect Boris for the good of other people.

JeffreeStar · 19/11/2019 22:27

Chill out lovely whatever will be will be.

Deathgrip · 19/11/2019 22:27

comical lack of a Brexit policy

There’s a very clear policy. A five year old could understand the policy.

Bluntness100 · 19/11/2019 22:28

Seemingly it was fairly even, 51 percent to Johnson.

Watched jo Swinson interview, in her yellow dress and hot pink court shoes, she made Corbyn look well dressed. Talks absolute tosh. Really thinks she's going to be prime minister or has a crack at it, quite astounding how they voted her leader of the Lib Dem's. She really thinks it's all about her.

I actually struggle to watch her.

Soen · 19/11/2019 22:28

If you can't understand Labour's Brexit policy, you really should educate yourself.

CendrillonSings · 19/11/2019 22:30

Oh, and what a surprise - Corbyn caught lying about antisemitism again:

mobile.twitter.com/JewishLabour/status/1196894635387506689

Jewish Labour Movement
@JewishLabour

Jeremy Corbyn has claimed that anyone who has been antisemitic in the Labour Party has been "either suspended or expelled".

This is a lie.

Bluntness100 · 19/11/2019 22:30

A five year old could understand the policy

Attempting to negotiate a new deal in three months is hardly a policy. We all know it's highly unlikely to be possible. So where does that leave them?

Jux · 19/11/2019 22:30

Could it be that JC wants a PV and feels he cannot represent the people until we have spoken on that? When I say a PV, presumably he means one where we vote either for a deal or for remain. I suppose he thinks that the referendum we've already had doesn't count as we didn't have a deal we could compare Leave against?

This is the only real reason I can think of for his silence on the issue.

ssd · 19/11/2019 22:30

Jo swinsons voting record is horrendous, even worse than Boris's.

Soen · 19/11/2019 22:30

Only comfortable with Tory lies are you @CendrillonSings

happyandsingle · 19/11/2019 22:31

Soen what the fuck is there policy then. Please explain.

Bluntness100 · 19/11/2019 22:32

Corbyn has all but given up, he doesn't want to win, and he knows he's not going to.

What's going to be interesting is how long he can continue to lead the Labour Party. A drubbing in the poles and they will take him out. The writing is on the wall and he knows it.
