I'm too angry about brexit. And the effect it'll have on us all. I can see a tory majority happening and it sickens me. I don't know what's happened to ordinary people. They've fell for something that will make their lives worse, sold to them by an elite that has shafted them.

I can't fucking bare it.

A vote was cast. We voted to leave. Yeah but no but? Move to Korea - you'll agree with their politics more

Err, no thanks. As i said, this IS democracy in action. It doesn't make it any less so, just because you disagree.

Alsohuman · 19/11/2019 23:43

That “joke” was a fucking disgrace. I can only imagine MNHQ has a skeleton staff tonight since it’s still there.

Soen · 19/11/2019 23:46

@longtimelurkerhelen - my family has been affected by it. That attempt at humour by Yappy hit close to the bone. A lesser person would call them a disgusting cunt.

JimmyGrimble · 19/11/2019 23:47

Lumene the forces at play around the referendum made damn sure that the democratic process wasn’t followed. Even in the hinterland of politics world what they did is not allowed. Harvesting and manipulating data isn’t allowed. Accepting excessive campaign contributions isn’t allowed. And that’s before we take into account the actual fucking lies they told. The barefaced knowing mistruths they spouted and wrote on the side of that twatting bus.

longtimelurkerhelen · 19/11/2019 23:47

@Soen Oh I'm happy to be a lesser person, they are indeed a cunt.

JimmyGrimble · 19/11/2019 23:49

Soen you’re not a lesser person. A disgusting cunt is a disgusting cunt.

Do you have a crystal ball? No-one can say what life will be like after Brexit. We should have left on 31st Oct. with no deal as Boris wanted.

Crystal ball? No.

Have I read more than you about Brexit preparations, and the impact on various aspects of society, borders, supply chains etc? Evidently.

You don’t need a crystal ball. Think for a second. We leave Brexit with “no deal” - what do you think a “deal” is?

What do you think happens to the borders on our island with no agreements in place?

What do you think happens to the medications and foods we import from Europe when the borders are backlogged and there’s no arrangements in place for customs?

What do you think happens when companies no longer benefit from EU tarrifs on imports / exports?

Do you even know anything about what the EU is, why we pay money and what we get in return? Surely you must do since you’re so hellbent on leaving.

And again, this election is about more than Brexit. Look at the impact of tory policies on this country over the last decade - on homelessness, poverty, nhs, education etc etc.

Do you want these people in charge, selling out our rights and public services in exchange for trade deals with countries like the US?

If you do know what you’re talking about, please explain why I am wrong.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 19/11/2019 23:51

it really saddens me that you don’t know the difference between this and a leader who understands he works for us, and his job is to do what’s best for us

And we told him what was best for us aka to leave the EU. And ever since then he has sat on the fence bemoaning the fact that he doesn't know what to do. So now his position is 'please vote for me so I can ask you what is best for you, so I can ignore you a second time'

Yes, its very sad Corbyn doesn't know the difference between leading and not knowing who to follow.

Soen · 19/11/2019 23:51

Thanks Jimmy Grin

caringcarer · 19/11/2019 23:52

I just wish JC would answer the question. He avoided it four or five times and people need to know what would happen if he won election. Would he seriously negotiate with EU and then try to get public to vote against his own negotiated deal or to vote to accept it?

Soen · 19/11/2019 23:54

@Walkingdeadfangirl if by resolving one 'problem' will create even bigger problems then I really dont see how the issue can be fixed without asking people if they are sure it will be worth it. And even then....

JimmyGrimble · 19/11/2019 23:54

He very clearly said what he would do. Perhaps you didn’t hear him as there was a buffoon waff waffling in the background.

PickAChew · 19/11/2019 23:54

Was it tonight? I'm more interested in an all major party debate, mind, even if it includes frogface.

Soen · 19/11/2019 23:54

Yes caringcarer, he really would. It's in the manifesto. Read it. It's there in black and white.

workhardpartyharder · 19/11/2019 23:56

I absolutely despair - when people are claiming we should be democratic and democracy 'rules' - we dem-o-cr-at-ically voted, as a country, in 2016, to leave the European union.

On what planet can you argue - that de-moc-racy- should be maintained and because you didn't get the result you wanted this de-moc-racy should be ignored and we have a 'better' one!

I dispair - no arguing with fudge.

Soen · 19/11/2019 23:57

You can't maintain democracy when it was built on a hot bed of lies. It is fundamentally flawed from the off.

Soen · 19/11/2019 23:59

The only way forward with Brexit is to put the true version of leave back to the people. Then you know what you will get.

curlykaren · 19/11/2019 23:59

Yappy your view on Brexit is positively schizophrenic. Boris and many other conservatives voted against a Brexit deal. How come he didn't want to GET BREXIT DONE then?? And if you're going to say its because it was a shit deal then you have to acknowledge that there is more than one kind of Brexit. Which of these Brexits were people voting for in the referendum??

JimmyGrimble · 20/11/2019 00:00

workhard that referendum was in dem o crat ic ally and cynically manipulated by vote leave. Duh.

Deathgrip · 20/11/2019 00:00

And we told him what was best for us aka to leave the EU. And ever since then he has sat on the fence bemoaning the fact that he doesn't know what to do. So now his position is 'please vote for me so I can ask you what is best for you, so I can ignore you a second time'

This is just so far away from reality.

Okay, imagine this.
Scientists discover a miraculous chemical compound which prevents the common cold. It will save the country millions in lost productivity.

Although we have very little information, we know that daily consumption means no more colds for anyone.

The government holds a referendum and the public vote, by a very small margin, to add this chemical compound to the national water supply.

While the logistics are being worked out, it becomes clear that actually:

  • It will only prevent about 5% of people from catching colds.
  • Some people will have no benefits and no negative effects
  • A good proportion of people will react badly to it and have frequent diarrhoea
  • A small number of people will die

Should the government just do it because that’s what we voted for?

We didn’t know the impact of what we were voting for. Now we have much more information. It’s the only logical approach, for people who actually care about the impact of this process.

Jakymz · 20/11/2019 00:02

JC won that debate by a country mile. I liked every one of his answers. All Boris did was lie yet again, repeatedly. About the NHS, about his integrity, about his bloody deal, and about his opponent. He cannot be trusted. Neither can Priti Patel. I’m wondering whether it’s hilarious, or deeply disturbing, that some people would actually want a bunch of compulsive liars running the show. Let’s just say that if you vote Tory, it tells me everything I need to know about your character and morals.

RockinHippy · 20/11/2019 00:02

*God imagine being so brainwashed you don’t want a leader that cares about your opinion and wants the best for you.
**
*Daft bastards the lot of you

😂 absolutely spot on

workhardpartyharder · 20/11/2019 00:07

We didn’t know the impact of what we were voting for. Now we have much more information. It’s the only logical approach, for people who actually care about the impact of this process.

I don't agree. I think you're insulting voters who absolutely knew what we are voting for. And to disregard that on the arrogance that 'we didn't know what we were voting for?'

Apologies I have no idea what you're saying? JimmyGrimble Wed 20-Nov-19 00:00:02
workhard that referendum was in dem o crat ic ally and cynically manipulated by vote leave. Duh.

Soen · 20/11/2019 00:09

I think if you're 'insulted' by being told you didnt have all the information to hand at the time of the referendum, you need to get out more. It's a fact.
