I'm too angry about brexit. And the effect it'll have on us all. I can see a tory majority happening and it sickens me. I don't know what's happened to ordinary people. They've fell for something that will make their lives worse, sold to them by an elite that has shafted them.

I can't fucking bare it.

Greggers, it was a GLOBAL recession. Not caused by the Labout party (or the Tories or the Greens....). I think it actually started in the US and just had an awful unstoppable effect worldwide, like a run on Dominoes! Everyone fell. Something to do with sub-prime mortgages?

Schemes which made the rich richer anyway. Unfettered capitalism, imo.

Anyway, certainly no mere political party here could have done it or stopped it.

Soen · 19/11/2019 22:56

I can't believe someone would comment on a parenting website about benefits that have enriched the lives of children and have the audacity to call them stupid. What exactly was stupid about them? Or was it just they cost money, ergo, must be stupid by proxy?

Walkingdeadfangirl · 19/11/2019 22:56

So 3 years later and I still dont know what Corbyns opinion on Brexit is. How can anyone vote for someone impaled on a fence? We need a leader not a muppet!

Yappy12 · 19/11/2019 22:57

I hope Swinson loses her seat which she could well so. The SNP will try and take it and she doesn't have a huge majority.

MustardScreams · 19/11/2019 22:58

@Walkingdeadfangirl dear god.

It is SO CLEAR. Honestly, you’d have to be dead not to understand it.

He is putting the vote back to the people once he has renegotiated a deal with the EU. Because that is literally what democracy is.

sunglasses123 · 19/11/2019 22:58

Corbyn DID say free broadband and would nationalise the other 600 internet providers!!!

People don’t want free broadband. They want the money spent on more worthy causes.

Soen · 19/11/2019 22:59

I posted up thread Labours stance on Brexit as have other posters @Walkingdeadfangirl

satanstoenailsandwich · 19/11/2019 22:59

'My husband is massively into politics and knows his stuff'

Ay up, a posters husbands opinion has been voiced, let's all listen because Man Has Spoken.

JimmyGrimble · 19/11/2019 22:59

Swinson is vile. Their ejection strategy is just attacking Labour and they won’t rule out another coalition. Lib Dem whores for sake to the highest bidder.

Yappy12 · 19/11/2019 22:59

@ssd

The electorate voted OUT so we should be out by now if it hadn't been for MP's faffing about. Let's get Boris back, a good majority, his deal passed and us out by Jan. 31st. No second referendum needed.

CallmeAngelina · 19/11/2019 23:00

Yes the royal family ‘beyond reproach’ comment has honestly gobsmacked me, even for BJ

Well, you maybe should have listened more carefully to what he actually said, which is that the INSTITUTION is beyond reproach.

And re: the global recession, we might have been in a better position to ride it out had Labour (under Gordon Brown as Chancellor) not pissed our economy up the wall and sold our gold at rock-bottom.

Soen · 19/11/2019 23:00

@greggers2017 are you saying you get your political opinion based on other peoples opinions?

JimmyGrimble · 19/11/2019 23:01

The electorate were manipulated and lied to. Recent polls show a majority for Remain as people learn more about the consequences and the level of mendacity has started to become clear.

MustardScreams · 19/11/2019 23:01

If you actually look into the recession more than soundbites you’ll know that’s GB prevented the UK from crashing down further than we did, and saved us from an even worse time of it.

Not that the least nine years have been fun of course.

CallmeAngelina · 19/11/2019 23:01

And I'm getting mightily tired of hearing Corbyn bang on about "getting a sensible deal" for Brexit. Like that's EVER going to happen! He's in cloud-cuckoo land.

MyOtherProfile · 19/11/2019 23:02

austerity is the result of there being no money left after the last Labour govt.
Grin Grin Grin
I didn't know anyone actually still believed this.

Deathgrip · 19/11/2019 23:02

I'm quoting what people know.

Then educate yourself. There’s no bloody excuse. We actually have an opportunity here to get shot of a government who are actively choosing to harm people. It’s an ideological and deliberate choice, in favour of a tiny wealthy minority, and elect someone with some integrity and decency. But no, he’s dangerous and magic money tree and blah blah blah. It’s bullshit.

Boris Johnson wants to fund the fibre broadband network too - did you know that? But instead of making it a universal state funded service, which boosts the U.K. economy and addresses digital inequality, he wants to hand a £5 billion pound subsidy to private companies, who won’t make it available to everyone because it’s not profitable.

Soen · 19/11/2019 23:02

@CallmeAngelina we might be in a worse position had he let the banks go under. Mortgages, savings, pensions, investments... all could have fallen to shit

JimmyGrimble · 19/11/2019 23:02

callme Angelina says someone who lied to the fucking QUEEN

Greggers2017 · 19/11/2019 23:03

No I'm saying I listen and make my own opinion. I have a disabled brother and son. My dad worked down the pit for 40 years. I was a teacher and now work for the NHS but I still realise that Corbyn will ruin the country.
A different leader, maybe my view would change

sunglasses123 · 19/11/2019 23:03

I also thought Corbyn looked very odd. His glasses didn’t fit and he seemed out of his depth. As though he should have taken retirement a few years ago and seemed to be sitting on the fence or unable to articulate his views.

It’s a real shame as a strong opposition keeps people on their toes but Labour are really blowing it for themselves

Yappy12 · 19/11/2019 23:03

@JimmyGrimble

Boris is a top bloke. Are you perfect? At least he wants to honour the referendum result and GET BREXIT DONE?

CallmeAngelina · 19/11/2019 23:04

And zero-hours contracts can be useful to some. Abolishing them completely will fuck up my kids for a start.

Yappy12 · 19/11/2019 23:05

Coryn can go back to his allotment on 13th whilst our great PM gets on with running the country.

Deathgrip · 19/11/2019 23:05

The electorate voted OUT so we should be out by now if it hadn't been for MP's faffing about.

Faffing about?

Did you actually watch those sessions of parliament? I did. It was actually incredibly heartening to see MPs from all parties standing up for their electorate against something that they knew categorically would lead to unemployment, homelessness, lack of access to medications, food, etc etc.

They weren’t faffing about. The deals were blocked and no deal was blocked because as a country we’d be significantly worse off if they’d gone through. Have you even read anything at all about this?
