I used to always fully shave down there but now been mid 30s and 4 DC later I go all natural, my OH told me last night to shave downstairs I carnt even go to the toilet without having 1 of my DC clinging to my leg never mind a bit of me time, he said he doesn't like it and wants me to shave but to be honest I really don't care and haven't got time and it doesn't bother me. So I guess my question is aibu to not give in to his request

What on earth would happen if women loved themselves and their bodies the way they were! The beauty and fashion industry would lose billions

I don't understand this need to shave either. It was never a "thing" when I was younger. Been married twice, my pubic hair didn't bother either husband. Never shaved my pubic hair, now 60 yrs old and it will stay the same way.

Tell your OH you will shave when he shaves all his pubic hair. Why is it only ever the woman that is meant to shave anyway??

Up to you how you wear your hair, whether on your head or other parts of your body. Up to him if he wants to put his mouth on your hairy parts!

Your body, your choice. I'd explain to him you don't have time. He might notdo certain sexual things any more but tbh I'd rather that and have control over my body image!!

Young girls don't have armpits hair either, nor on the chin.. do you keep that on too? or is it just down there? some people, like me, don't like body hair. That's all, I prefer smooth skin, everywhere. I must say it felt strange the first time, but then I quickly got over it, I have way too much boobs and cellulite ( and ok stretch marks) to resemble a pre teen anyway.

Do you expect him to do things to his body that he doesn't want to do, purely for your own sake? If yes then I guess you should return the favour. If not then you should do exactly as you wish.

I actually thought I was probably the last woman on the planet who does do a "full" shave, just a tidy up on any bits that would stick out past a cossi in the local swimming pool. My DH couldnt care less, his best mate cannot abide shaved pubes, says shaved woman down there look like raw liver. At the end of the day, its your body. My DGD who has only ever seen her Mum and I thinks it hilarious calls me "nanny,nanny,hairy fanny" and refuses to believe she is very soon going to get some.

I genuunely don't understand men who cannot cope with a woman's natural body. Is it a porn thing - that's some what men think is 'normal' now?

I don't think It is like having a preference for a blue jumper over a green jumper. It is more like a preference between her wearing a jumper and being topless.

Some people just like seeing the bits and the details more clearly, in preference of looking at basically a patch of hair. or other covering. Some people prefer the feel of what lies beneath the pubic hair rather than the feel of the hair itself.

Tell him to fuck right off! My ex used to do this to me. He made me feel like having pubic hair was dirty and abnormal. He used to look at me in disgust and say "when are you going to sort that out?" My DH loves my body no matter what my bush looks like now (even when it's full on big 70s style!).

But pubic hair is smooth when left. As is leg and armpit hair. It feels coarser when it grows back after removal. Depilation makes me think of pale carpets for some reason. Endless joyless maintenance!!!

Keep the hair! After 4DC noone's fanjo is going to be looking quite as compact as it did and going bald will accentuate any droopage. Actually I'd probably tell him that and it might scare him into compliance

In my day when I was young, shaved pubes was just not a thing anyone did. At most it was a tidy up round the sides when swimming etc.

Sadly, younger women are now with men who watch porn online. (Yes I dated before the internet existed.)
