has your dc been upset by the advert or is this over kill by the few, a dragon who causes trouble by melting snow ice and burning things ?

wineandcheeseplease · 15/11/2019 17:43

It's ridiculous! They need to harden up and watch Bambi

Choufleur · 15/11/2019 17:44

Wtf?!

D0G · 15/11/2019 17:45

No.

Hope those children haven't watched water ship down or Coraline etc.

Ridiculous.

Igotthemheavyboobs · 15/11/2019 17:45

Made me cry but I am 20 weeks pregnant and an emotional wreck haha! Love the advert though and this is overkill!

Hazardd · 15/11/2019 17:46

harden up and watch bambi

I saw bambi when I was 3 and I am still upset.

DrVonPatak · 15/11/2019 17:46

If kids are traumatized by this, how are they supposed to function in the real world?

Clangus00 · 15/11/2019 17:48

Good grief.

00100001 · 15/11/2019 17:49

traumatised by what?

FemininPluriel · 15/11/2019 17:49

It’s not traumatic but it’s a pile of shite

Houseworkavoider · 15/11/2019 17:50

Eh?? It’s happy at the end... Hmm

BlueCornsihPixie · 15/11/2019 17:51

Fgs it's a friendly Dragon! If children get traumitised by that they shouldnt be watching tv at all!

annie987 · 15/11/2019 17:51

I’m confused - what’s traumatic?

YourOpinionIsNoted · 15/11/2019 17:51

Apparently it's because the dragon kills Olaf. Because all snowmen are Olaf, obviously. Numpties.

GruciusMalfoy · 15/11/2019 17:51

Is this for real? What the feck was there to be traumatised by?

FabulouslyFab · 15/11/2019 17:52

There’s no such thing as bad publicity!! 😂

alreadyinchristmasmood · 15/11/2019 17:53

People nowadays are traumatised by pretty much everything. I loved the as, it 's just about love & kindness.

brittabot · 15/11/2019 17:53

The Champ with Ricky Schroeder, I was about 6. 😢😢😢
Not sure of the rating? I seem to remember watching it with my 10 year old brother. What were my parents thinking?!
Anyway my 8 year old DS watched it and it was not triggering. He draws combat scenes for fun though,

nocluewhattodoo · 15/11/2019 17:54

My three year old has been asking to watch it on repeat, admittedly she has a taste for wanton destruction so the dragon is right up her street. I don't understand what could possibly be traumatic about the ad, the parents of those children are going to have a lot more stress ahead if their DC can't watch an advert without 'trauma'

littlepaddypaws · 15/11/2019 17:56

femin as is a lot of stuff on tv but no one apologises for it. i'd love to know who complained though,
is this really news worthy in the 'manchester evening news' ?

Sparklingbrook · 15/11/2019 17:56

That’s hilarious. How do these children cope when their RL snowman melts? Shock

Igotthemheavyboobs · 15/11/2019 17:56

Apparently it's because the dragon kills Olaf. Because all snowmen are Olaf, obviously. Numpties

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I really hope this is true

PotholePalace · 15/11/2019 17:58

When we sang Puff the Magic Dragon at school I used to sit at the back and cry my eyes out.

The Selfish Giant breaks my heart every time I read it.

The beginning of Watership Down makes me angry.

Edgar's story was nothing compared to these.

Evilmorty · 15/11/2019 18:00

Unless there is an alternate version where they roasted the dragon for Christmas dinner, I fail to see what was upsetting Confused

Aragog · 15/11/2019 18:01

Oh I read this and laughed. Goodness how those children cope with real life, or their parents!

There's also a woman claiming that JL stole her idea from a book she's sold on Amazon. Apparently the little dragon looks similar to hers - don''t all baby dragons pretty much look the same??? And apparently its a similar story to hers, excepts here's were unicorns learning to divert their talent elsewhere - but again, surely the same kind of 'moral' is in tons of books and fairy tales so none of its a new idea! Reckon she just wants a bit of publicity and to add to her online book views.

Still think the advert is cute.

Littlemeadow123 · 15/11/2019 18:01

I think it was original a good natured joke but then all the newspapers jumped on it and, in their usual habit, turned it into a s**t storm.
