Just for fun

OP posts:

All the sensible threads written by step mothers looking for genuine advice that get completely ruined and derailed by women who for reasons known only to them, hate step mothers.

RhubarbTea · 06/11/2019 00:07

Oh and yes, the trans one which always have a variety of titles so you click on them with a sinking heart hoping against hope it isn't another trans bashing thread and then, yep, it is. Fabulous.

Coolwinter · 06/11/2019 00:08

Overuse of controlling and LTB

Overuse of ‘I wish women would just... ‘ in response to a distressed poster.

The ganging up on Step Mums like they are all the OW mostly from Mums who have never been SM.

The jumping on people who have a partner or child with mental health or diagnosable issues - and are finding it difficult - and are lambasted for not being politically correct enough or prejudice or whatever when it’s clear they are trying to find support.

Coolwinter · 06/11/2019 00:09

@QueenofPain snap!

LingyLangy · 06/11/2019 00:09

I have never seen a trans bashing thread. I can’t believe people like that exist. How awful

OP posts:
VanyaHargreeves · 06/11/2019 00:10

Any thread that insists farting is hilarious

Threads were the root cause of the problem is obviously that the DC is extremely spoiled and the OP is grasping at straws to make it untrue

The alarmingly rife number of women who have taken up with men with pre-existing children and basically think the child/ren should be seen and not heard, not seen at all, definitely shouldn't be more important than them, and if they have their own children regardless of whether they are by the man or not they are entitled to be treated by him as being far more important than the children he already had

NeckPainChairSearch · 06/11/2019 00:11

"Am I the only one who..."

There are 7.5 billion people on the planet (not all on MN, granted). It's not likely that 'you're the only one...' who does/says/likes/hates anything.

Plus you'll be posting some banal crap that you know everyone will agree with anyway.

TheKrakening3 · 06/11/2019 00:12

I’m the worst mother in the world. I can’t stop crying. I don’t deserve to be a parent because I bumped baby’s head/caught some skin in a zipper/forgot their vest/realised a car seat strap was slightly loose after driving them or a myriad other minor mistakes and accidents that happen to every parent.

What exactly is the purpose of these hyperbolic, overly dramatic threads?

saraclara · 06/11/2019 00:14

@lingyLangy virtually every thread on the feminism branch is trans bashing (thinly disguised as women's safety issues). Virtually nothing else is discussed over there. It's a really angry place.

Youonlyhadonejob · 06/11/2019 00:17

Definitely the AMA threads. Only one that was interesting was the one where the OP worked in a crematorium and that was possibly the first ever one.

GuyForks · 06/11/2019 00:18

Questions where the very fact they are asking means the answer is obvious from the wording like
He's never gong to propose is he? NO.
This relationship isn't healthy is it? NO
Am I an unwitting OW? YES
Is my neighbour a CF? YES
This dress doesn't suit me does it? NO

You know this. Why are you asking us?

BrylcreamBeret · 06/11/2019 00:18

Lingylangy I have never once seen one of the "trans bashing" threads or even single posts on here. I have seen plenty of women hating though so I think previous posters are gas lighting.

BrylcreamBeret · 06/11/2019 00:21

Saraclara, I'll repeat for your benefit, where is the trans bashing? The only threads I ever read on the feminist boards are genuinely concerned with the plight of all womankind the world over. It's not thinly veiled anything. Are you not aware of the massive difficulties that women face on the basis of their sex?

kateandme · 06/11/2019 00:28

Diet.food.weight related.i no what's to come...

Welltroddenpath · 06/11/2019 00:30

All the types of threads that I would start. Like mind dumps where you know the answer but want to sound out anyway.

Like “my friend asked if I wanted to go with her to the cinema with me, but took her pot plant instead to see the film we planned, Aibu to think she prefers the pot plants company to mine?”

You know the answer but want to check your not crazy. That’s fine really as I do it too

HalfManHalfLabrador · 06/11/2019 00:31

Practically everything from AIBU

zen1 · 06/11/2019 00:35

Any thread that starts with a statement and then the OP asks the readers to ‘discuss’, often without giving their own opinion at all.

Bluerussian · 06/11/2019 00:37

Threads about Santa.

MyGoodTimes · 06/11/2019 00:37

The feminist board (anti men /anti trans / single space bla bla bla) or disguised posts on same topics on any other board by feminists.

Posters who post on the wrong board deliberately because it gets more traffic.

Posters who make a thread about an non issue. EG. I live near other houses on a lane. Someone walks past my house every night at 11pm. What should I do?

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 06/11/2019 00:38

"Line eyes"

They always seem cruel because the OP is desperate and so people tell her they can see a line based on a crappy photo.

DontCallMeShitley · 06/11/2019 00:38

I'm a parent I deserve a parking space
(Even if it is a disabled space).

DontCallMeShitley · 06/11/2019 00:39

I'm pregnant, I should have a seat on the bus.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 06/11/2019 00:41

Everyone who tries to shout down perfectly legitimate and much needed debate about women and women's rights as "transphobic".

The misogyny is tangible.

JaneJeffer · 06/11/2019 00:42

Mumsnet was better in the olden days.

Grandmi · 06/11/2019 00:43

MILthreads ....they are mothers !! It pisses me off that they are considered so low in the pecking order...and I am not a MIL !!
