Just for fun

Any thread with a click bait heading or ticking the Mumsnet tropes (parking, CF, buggy vs wheelchair)

Aridane · 10/11/2019 07:51

Since the question of the thread was about titles rather than content, I say any thread title containing the word 'zilla'

Aridane · 10/11/2019 07:52

or - and my heart drops here - a thread where the title is 'part 2' - typically a further thread on a non even which for some reason got. 1,000 posts in a short space of time

CAG12 · 10/11/2019 08:03

Threads that go something like this -

'Im TTC. Can you see a line?'

People respond with 'OMG yes I can totally see a line. Congratulations'.

Igotthemheavyboobs · 10/11/2019 08:06

Probably been said already but, 'AIBU to not understand why childless people are on Mumsnet?'

I imagine them sitting there with wide eyed, Bambi like curiosity (yeah right!)

EmpressLesbianInChair · 10/11/2019 08:29

Probably been said already but, 'AIBU to not understand why childless people are on Mumsnet?'

By now the only reasonable answer to that is BINGO!

I hate that so much.

It's part of this new move in places for unconditional affirmation of what posters want to hear.

Having had fertility issues, I stepped away from MN for a while due to seeing loads of threads like that. The poor people probably know there's no line and yet liars online (especially the ones who mock those who can't see a line) insist on giving false hope... And then OP's period arrives and they're upset and some people still acy like it was an early miscarriage, which is worse because there was no line.

I agree with you and you've hit a nerve here. Smile

holidays and bedrooms in the step mum forum

You just know where it is going.

Airplane seats:

  • pay to reserve or not
  • recline or not
  • trying to convince others there really is no difference between economy and business/first because "everyone arrives at the same time"
CruCru · 10/11/2019 17:57

Any thread where people start posting “Shame on you!”/“You should be ashamed”/“You should hang your head in shame”. It’s often such a pile on and there ends up being no acceptance that anyone can think differently from the hive mind.

BeThere · 10/11/2019 18:03

Every time I read "is this a line/is this positive"? I think buy a bloody test with words. They literally say "pregnant" or "not pregnant". Problem solved

Campervan69 · 10/11/2019 18:17

AIBU to....

Yes says everyone.

But but blah blah reasons why I'm not unreasonable.

Well don't bother asking if you're not going to listen ffs

DidntLikeRugbyAnyway · 10/11/2019 18:23

"What shall I put in my hospital bag?"

This thread gets started about 700 times a week, I’m sure.

LingyLangy · 10/11/2019 19:18

Wow - didn’t expect so many replies. It’s good to have a little moan to offload & thank you to everyone for not detailing my thread & keeping it lighthearted. A rarity on MN Grin

The ones that really piss me off are the ones about husbands/partners working really long hours and commuting, which is then used as an excuse to be a lazy, self centred twat and not lift a finger at home. I just think open your eyes and raise the fucking bar.
