Just that really and, inspired by another thread, why do so many people dislike him?

OP posts:
duvetaddict · 02/11/2019 07:12

He's a manipulative liar who says what he thinks will get him what he wants. He changes his views and policies to get votes then will screw everyone over. People need to stop believing his lies!!

Kittykatmacbill · 02/11/2019 07:18

No of course I don’t.

It astonishes me that anyone can vote Tory.

Fatshedra · 02/11/2019 07:18

But don't they all do that. Wasn't Jeremy banging on about no fees for uni or something at the last election ??? Where's that now.

DowntownAbby · 02/11/2019 07:19

The problem is that they all lie.

I mean look at Corbyn's latest bullshit statement about how the Conservatives have 'slashed taxes for the rich'.

There are people who believe this bollocks!

It's very troubling.

DowntownAbby · 02/11/2019 07:24

I know MN tends to be left wing but there are Tory voters on here and they are not coming forward to defend BJ.

So I suspect there are a lot of peopl who don't trust him but will vote Tory anyway...

No @EmmaGrundyForPM They keep quiet because they will be screamed at and called cunts by the raging socialists on here.

In reality the issue is that if you don't want Corbyn - and the vast majority don't - then who else can you vote for.

I'm totally stuck. I would never vote labour whilst Corby, McDonnell, Thornbury and Abbot are around, but I can't vote for the Conservatives and no one else has any chance. It's depressing.

MarshaBradyo · 02/11/2019 07:38

As many people on mn think Corbyn is terrible as BJ is a known liar

Actually more the latter in numbers because it isn’t a vote stopper for many

DippyAvocado · 02/11/2019 07:41

My DM has voted Tory in every election for the past 50 years. She has said she can't vote for them while BJ is leader so for the first time she won't vote.

leckford · 02/11/2019 07:44

People vote for the Conservatives because to option of Corbyn/Abbott/McDonnell is far too terrifying

Paddington68 · 02/11/2019 07:47

Politics has become a race of personalities rather than parties.
I don't trust Boris, but then I don''t trust the Conservatives.

Spudlet · 02/11/2019 07:48

Not as far as I could throw him, and I have poor upper body strength and a sore shoulder.

He makes my flesh crawl.

MarshaBradyo · 02/11/2019 07:50

It might always have been the case but the personality thing feels more pronounced

Labour under Corbyn feels very different to a centrist leader as is Cons under Boris

So people start to respond to personality of leader more

Seahorseshoe · 02/11/2019 07:54

Yes I do. He's trying to give the people what they voted for, being thwarted at every turn. I thought that was democracy - you have a vote and then it is honoured?

Cloverbeauty · 02/11/2019 08:12

I don't trust any politician. They are all liars.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 02/11/2019 08:15

I also don't understand why people would rather have BJ running the country than Corbyn. People keep saying how awful Corbyn would be as PM without saying why.

Johnson is a man without any moral integrity.

derxa · 02/11/2019 08:33

Corbyn's major fault is his dogmatic inflexibility, not his mendacity. If anything, you can absolutely trust Corbyn to do what he says, it's just that you might not want him to do it. Grin

EmmaGrundyForPM · 02/11/2019 08:37

But Corbyn has compromised with members of his party. So I don't think the inflexibility argument holds water.

BucketOfTheDetective · 02/11/2019 08:38

NO
NO
NO

BertrandRussell · 02/11/2019 08:38

Yes- Corbyn is honest to a fault. If he had dealt with his meetings with Irish republicans the same way Thatcher did hers, he wouldn’t have handed so much ammunition to his enemies.

Personally, I don’t want any of the current possibilities to be PM. But if I had to pick the one that had least concern for the country, it would be Johnson.

SandraOhshair · 02/11/2019 08:42

I trust him more than the alternative.

ARoomWithoutADoor · 02/11/2019 08:43

No. He's a proven liar.
Racist, misogynist, homophobic, xenophobic.
Self-serving, lazy liar.

But I think he will still be our PM come Christmas :(

SallyAnne89 · 02/11/2019 08:43

I wouldn't trust him to babysit my kids, make toast under the grill, deliver my amazon parcel or organise a bonfire night party, so I feel even worse about him running the country.

BertrandRussell · 02/11/2019 08:44

Yep. He’s going to win. Because he is excellent at pulling the wool over the eyes of the public. I still blame Have I Got News For You.

Solihooley · 02/11/2019 08:45

In reality the issue is that if you don't want Corbyn - and the vast majority don't - then who else can you vote for.

I dint think this is true at all. Labour garnered more individual votes at the last election didn’t they? Showing that quite a lot of people must be quite happy with Corbyn.

BertrandRussell · 02/11/2019 08:48

It shouldn’t be a matter of not wanting Corbyn. This is a parliamentary democracy, not a presidency. If you want hard right policies, vote Tory. If you want left of centre, social democrat policies, vote labour.
