Just that really and, inspired by another thread, why do so many people dislike him?

It sounds to me as if some people voting only on what is good for them don't really care about homelessness, poverty etc. It will not make a geat deal of difference to me personally what the outcome of the election is, unless I become ill and need the NHS but I am concerned re education, universal credit etc

I read the Corbyn thread. Some of it I thought was a load of bollocks, just "he is dangerous" with no explanation. I am studying the info on anti semitism. I posted this thread as a result of reading the other one but it is separate not a TAAT. I have by the way heard Johnson being racist directly. I want to see what Corbyn wrote in the forward to the book.

Says the person who is only just reading that there’s an issue with anti-semitism in the Labour Party.

Paintedmaypole · 02/11/2019 13:16

Don't be silly giraffe. Of course I had read about anti semitism in the Labour party. There is such a smear campaign against Corbyn that I was looking for direct evidence of him being racist towards Jewish people. I had not heard that coming from his own mouth. Johnson on the other hand I had heard talking about letter boxes, watermellon smiles and even read his lovely poem about the Scots.

"What a verminous race...this nation deserves not merely isolation but comprehensive extermination" Hilarious Boris Hmm

I voted that YABU to ask the question because the answer is obvious - he’s got a lifelong history of untrustworthiness, he’s a serial adulterer and has been sacked from two jobs for flat out lies to his bosses.

If you’re going to enable polls on your AIBUs then do please apply thought to which question you’re asking.

larrygrylls · 02/11/2019 13:23

A proven liar and philanderer, how could you trust him?!

Having said that, he has been quite effective so far.

EleanorShellstrop100 · 02/11/2019 13:24

NO, because I’m not a moron?

noblegiraffe · 02/11/2019 13:25

I was looking for direct evidence of him being racist towards Jewish people

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that you have dismissed everything that you’ve read. The mural, the wreath, the sharing a platform with holocaust deniers, the forward to the anti Semitic book, the ‘unable to understand irony’ comment, the failure to deal with anti-semitism in his party....

Paintedmaypole · 02/11/2019 13:26

I wish I hadn't enabled the poll. It is more confusing than I realised but MN can't remove it now.

No, you would have to be crazy to trust BoJo.

MrsMaiselsMuff · 02/11/2019 13:48

But for a starter, his idea of international politics is asking Russia to investigate whether they were responsible for poisoning the Skripals.

That's nonsense. He said we should reserve judgment until evidence had been gathered.

At the same time the government had to delete a Tweet placing blame with the Russians because, at that stage, liability had not been determined.

I'd rather someone assesses a situation fully, than jumps in and creates diplomatic crises. I expect Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliffe feels the same.

Paintedmaypole · 02/11/2019 13:53

To be fair there is so much twisting words etc that I had dismissed some things I should have taken more seriously, that is why I am reading more now. The present cabinet are still extrememy low in my estimation and I still don't believe anything Johnson says.

OP posts:
noblegiraffe · 02/11/2019 15:22

Not nonsense, Mrsmaisel

Because that wouldn’t be a total waste of time Hmm

noblegiraffe · 02/11/2019 15:25

Why would finding out about antisemitism in Labour make Johnson more palatable?

They’re both shit options.

StoneofDestiny · 03/11/2019 00:45

Mr Johnson took office in July as head of a Tory faction. He has bulldozed precedent, propriety, parliament, his opponents and the country’s allies with Trumpian disdain. Most have fought back. They must go on doing so. Mr Johnson must be stopped from gaming with the Commons, the courts and the country

The Guardian gets it right.

I don't trust Boris but I trust Corbyn even less.
Corbyn is promising a veritable nirvana which just isn't achievable without bankrupting the country.

Most politicians today are of a very poor calibre. I suppose we get what we deserve.

DioneTheDiabolist · 09/11/2019 10:17

What is the cost of Corbyn's policies vs the cost of Bojo's @TheGirlFromStoryville?

Karwomannghia · 09/11/2019 11:00

Yes I’m interested in research about the economics as I’ve actually been seeing headlines to the contrary, that actually Corbyn’s financial policies are more realistic.
