Just that really and, inspired by another thread, why do so many people dislike him?

OP posts:
Paintedmaypole · 02/11/2019 08:51

I find the prospect of Johnson more "terrifying" than Corbyn as I think that people with disabilities, ill health etc will experience real suffering under a government lead by the present cabinet.

Screwtheclockchange · 02/11/2019 09:08

Paintedmaypole - in my experience, people are sadly very good at convincing themselves that those kind of measures will never affect them, only other people (who are all scumbags and wasters, etc). Even though most of us will end up with some kind of disability or, at a minimum, ill-health, if we live long enough. Reminds me of my mother, who used to sneer that legal aid work was "working for scum" (I'm a lawyer) but then was furious when she found out that she wouldn't get legal aid for her divorce.

greenghoul · 02/11/2019 09:12

No but unfortunately think I'll have to vote for him as Corbyn a disaster

greenghoul · 02/11/2019 09:17

@Solihooley I think Corbyn has since revealed how awful he is and that tbh he's in it for himself. Does not come across as a genuine person to help others, he should stand down and I reckon then labour would lead like crazy

noblegiraffe · 02/11/2019 09:19

If you want hard right policies, vote Tory. If you want left of centre, social democrat policies, vote labour.

And if you don’t want to put your tick in either the arsehole or the anti-Semite box, other parties are available.

Why is this being framed as an either/or? If you don’t like Corbyn, you don’t have to vote for Johnson.

Kyvia · 02/11/2019 09:25

Why is this being framed as an either/or? If you don’t like Corbyn, you don’t have to vote for Johnson.

If you’re voting in a Labour/Tory marginal then that does feel like it’s your only real choice, and a hell of a responsibility in making it as well.

BertrandRussell · 02/11/2019 09:29

“Why is this being framed as an either/or? If you don’t like Corbyn, you don’t have to vote for Johnson.“

Very true. And vice versa. But if you want a left of centre government, Labour is your only choice. And that, God help us, means Corbyn.

MollyButton · 02/11/2019 09:37

Corbyn tends not to lie, in fact he often seems to bend over backwards to avoid it - so gets others in the Shadow cabinet to make statements on thngs where he might have to change his mind. I don't like his policies but he really doesn't lie.

Johnson lies like he breaths - he seems to have no moral compass. His own family seem to know this (and come very very close to saying so blatantly). And he cost London a fortune - and wil cost the UK more.

A wise quote I saw this morning was:
Voting isn't like finding a life partner its like public transport, you don't wait for the perfect one, you take the one that will go closest to your destination.

Love that qoute Mollybutton it should go viral.

Corbyn a disaster people keep saying this but rarely say why.

OP posts:
FuntimeFranky · 02/11/2019 09:53

Why not Yes and No?

LellyMcKelly · 02/11/2019 09:53

LOL NO. I wouldn’t trust Johnson to look after my cat. He’s completely without morals or scruples.

FudgeBrownie2019 · 02/11/2019 09:55

I can't tolerate liars in any way, shape or form. It sickens me that our PM is a known bullshitter and people are so anti-Corbyn that they'd still choose a bullshitter over him.

A woman I know has two DCs who are disabled and lives very much on the breadline. She hates Corbyn so much that she's voting Tory (and has announced as much on social media) because she sees it as the only way to keep him out. I am astounded at that because she will vote openly against a party who'd offer her - and her DCs - more because of personal hatred towards JC. It's madness.

noblegiraffe · 02/11/2019 09:58

But if you want a left of centre government, Labour is your only choice.

If you want a government who either has to go into coalition with a more moderate party or run as a minority government depending on the votes of other parties - if you don’t want either of the main two parties to have a majority, then vote someone else.

RedSheep73 · 02/11/2019 09:58

Duh, because he's Boris Johnson. He's been caught lying so many times, you'd have to have been living under a rock to not know that. Plus he's a Tory politician so it's in his job description. It's like saying why would you not trust Donald Trump. If you even have to ask it it says a lot about you.

noblegiraffe · 02/11/2019 09:59

Corbyn a disaster people keep saying this but rarely say why.

Er, have you had your fingers stuck in your ears these last three years?

fussychica · 02/11/2019 10:03

Obviously not, he lies as easily as breathes.
I can't understand how he seems to get away with things others would have been sacked for just because he's a "character".
He is a very dangerous man and I can't stand the fact that we now have our very own Trump figure.

mamandematribu · 02/11/2019 10:08

No. I wonder how many other illegitimate babies he has out there....

BertrandRussell · 02/11/2019 10:32

No such thing as an “illegitimate” baby.
Try ”unacknowledged”.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 02/11/2019 10:34

@noblegiraffe. that's not explaining why.

ShirtyKnickers · 02/11/2019 10:38

Virtually all politicians are self serving arrogant liars. The small number of good ones that talk sense are out of the limelight on the back benches. Once they start climbing the political career ladder they get taken over the PR spin and lose the ability to answer simple questions with a yes or no.

greenghoul · 02/11/2019 10:39

@FudgeBrownie2019 that's the problem though if everyone votes solely on what's good for them we get what we have in the U.K. instead of broader thinking. Why would you vote someone who hosts the IRA or is openly anti Semitic not to mention one mouthing 'stupid woman' openly in Parliament.
And no I don't like BoJo either but I think Corbyn would be dangerous in power.
OP google why not to vote Corbyn if you're really unsure why people keep saying he's a disaster.

Paintedmaypole · 02/11/2019 10:40

noblegiraffe I have read the press but I just see insults most of the time and no proper explanation. I also see Corbyn's words twisted and stupid photos of him snoozing on a train. The only people giving an explanation of why they dislike him are the people posting links re anti semitism, which I am reading. Boris of course I have heard with my own ears making racist remarks.

OP posts:
StoneofDestiny · 02/11/2019 10:41

He is a self seeking, arrogant, untrustworthy, amoral imbecile. He has proven this by his own actions.

To ask if you trust Boris Johnson.
noblegiraffe · 02/11/2019 10:41

I know, Emma.

If someone is incapable of even looking at the ‘why do people hate Corbyn?’ thread, I’m not sure there’s any helping them.

But for a starter, his idea of international politics is asking Russia to investigate whether they were responsible for poisoning the Skripals.
