How are you voting in December?

Apologies if there’s already a thread on this - I did look and couldn’t find one.

So now it’s been confirmed that we’re having a GE in December, how are you voting? And what are your predictions on the results?

I’ve seen quite a few posts on here over the past couple months from people saying they wouldn’t vote now as they are politically homeless - wondering if these people still feel that way?

I’m voting labour - albeit in a very safe Tory area (so feel very much as though my vote doesn’t count). Reasons being I would never vote Tory and I don’t like a lot of what the Lim Dems have said recently. I also couldn’t bring myself not to vote at all.

@IAmPrettyWisdomous agree with your post wholeheartedly

@MyOtherProfile and yours!

Conservative and unionist party

MouseMartin · 30/10/2019 08:19

I can't imagine anyone but the very wealthy would want to vote Tory. They will increase costs for the less well off and help the rich as they always do.

motueka03 · 30/10/2019 08:20

@IAmPrettyWisdomous yes, I don’t think people actually read policies!

MaMaMaMySharona · 30/10/2019 08:20

I’ll be voting Boris, I’m from a very labour area but can’t stand Corbyn, we voted leave so let’s get the job done. You can’t have a vote and then refuse to honour the response because it’s not the one you wanted!

Firstly, you don't vote for a person, you vote for a party. Surely the past 3 years has shown you that whoever is in charge can change pretty quickly? We've had 3 Tory leaders and haven't even had a chance to vote for most of them!

Secondly, I am gobsmacked that people are still toting this 'just because you didn't get the result you wanted' nonsense - Brexit is DAMAGING to our country. How do you not see this yet?

frumpety · 30/10/2019 08:21

Lib dem. Labour don't stand a chance here and I refuse to vote Conservative because they are no longer conservative.

If Labour won , would Leavers then blame Labour for Brexit ?

IAmPrettyWisdomous · 30/10/2019 08:21

@MouseMartin It’s not just the rich, there’s a strong support from racists and xenophobes for the Conservatives too.

dontforgettheyellowbird · 30/10/2019 08:21

SNP

ShatnersWig · 30/10/2019 08:22

Wineislifex Are you moving to live in Johnson's constituency then?

Answerthequestion · 30/10/2019 08:22

@IAmPrettyWisdomous thank you for that. I am not even slightly ignorant but as a British Jew I will never ever ever allow myself to support a party who does not act on anti semitism and don’t tell me I’m wrong about that. It’s an absolute disgrace of the highest order and something I never thought I would see in a civilised country in the 21st century

Rock4please · 30/10/2019 08:22

Labour as it's a marginal seat - anything to keep the Tories out!

Iggly · 30/10/2019 08:22

Conservative and I think the conservatives will win. After the election I hope the country can reunite again as we’ve had such a politically toxic year

The Tories literally gave us brexit and are the reason we are in the mess we are in. Because they couldn’t fix it. Why?

Because Brexit isn’t about left/right traditional politics. You can be a left wing brexiteer or a right wing one.

As for Labour being confused on Brexit. They’re not actually. They recognise that plenty of labour voters want Brexit and plenty don’t. So that’s why they’re suggesting it needs another referendum.

It’s just too grown up and sensible to be reduced to a sound bite.

The Conservative party are funded by the incredibly wealthy who suck money out of the economy.

Why would anyone want to stand by a party that shrugs at people who with chronic health conditions being denied money to buy food?

ExecutiveFiat · 30/10/2019 08:23

Hope the DUP get hammered.

IAmPrettyWisdomous · 30/10/2019 08:26

@Answerthequestion I assume this is because he’s spoken against Israel? Otherwise what exactly has Corbyn done that constitutes as anti-semitism? Just a reminder in case it is the aforementioned, criticism of Israel does not equate to being an anti-Semitic. It’s overplayed to attempt to shut down any negative words about what Israel does wrong.

Nonetheless, you’re voting a party not a fucking person.

KitKat1985 · 30/10/2019 08:26

Difficult one. Politically my views are probably most aligned with the lib dems, but I may vote labour as a tactical vote. I'm going to see who is standing where I live I think, and then make my mind up.

I'm a nurse and having seen what's happened to the NHS and social care the past decade there's no way I could ever vote Conservative.

My concern with the whole GE is that the whole election campaign and voting is all going to be about Brexit, and hundreds of other important issues are all going to get side-lined.

Fatshedra · 30/10/2019 08:26

Hope the DUP get hammered
I would think they will be feted in NI. But you never know.
I'm in Scotland - can't believe we are in for another 'once in a generation' independence vote. Politics these days is BS.

NameChange84 · 30/10/2019 08:27

If people think that it's only the rich that are voting Conservative then they are wrong. I live in a Leave Northern town. Boris has huge support from white, working class leavers here. They switched from being life long Labour voters to Tory voting a while back now. Ask them who they will vote for? "Anyone who will get us out!" Is the response. They see Europe as the cause of their problems rather than the party that they are consistently voting for Hmm.

RedSheep73 · 30/10/2019 08:28

As I always do - I'll vote for whoever has the best chance of unseating the Tory. It has never worked yet, but you have to hope.

OOAOML · 30/10/2019 08:29

SNP.

Those who hope the country can reunite, how do you think that could happen? It feels like a single issue not that many people were massively bothered about now dominates and people are entrenched. Even if the withdrawal agreement passed the wrangling over the future relationship is still to happen. People are going to be arguing about the impact of Brexit for years.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 30/10/2019 08:29

Labour.
How can anyone vote Tory?
They’re liars and austerity has already killed 120,000 of our people. They’re evil. Corbyn is NOT an extremist. Labour policies are the same as Scandinavian countries where people have the best quality of life. Why would you vote Conservative for people who actually are destroying this country?

Nicolastuffedone · 30/10/2019 08:30

Conservative

FaithInfinity · 30/10/2019 08:30

I am politically homeless. I am a nurse who is devastated at the pressure the NHS is being put under. I always been a swing voter anyway - my parents were/are true blue but once I’d grown up I formed my own opinions. I don’t even know who our Lib Dem candidate. It’s pointless anyway, ours has been a safe Tory seat since 1924 with one of the most pompous arses known to man. But I will vote simply to have my voice heard and to vote against him.

Wakemeuuuup · 30/10/2019 08:30

I'll be voting for whoever has the best chance of unseating Johnson
