Weve decided we would like to buy a dyson hoover in the black Friday sales currently its £499 im wondering if anybody has any experience of Dyson and Black Friday? And whether theres much of a saving?
Tempted to just take the plunge.

After how he behaved over brexit (leave, leave, leave, then as soon as it was voted he shipped out of the UK as fast as he could) I would never buy a dyson.

A Dyson is not a Hoover -

Politics aside I just bought a cordless animal. It's divine.
Game.
Changer.

There was a code on money saving expert so cost £169 with free accessories.

It is the best purchase I have ever made.

I actually love it.

DontCallMeShitley · 26/10/2019 18:41

Brought it?

NormaBean · 26/10/2019 18:43

Why do people say brought? I’ve heard this a few times now.

homeworkery · 26/10/2019 18:46

Aaaargh. Can't cope with this thread. Way too much going on

sausagepastapot · 26/10/2019 18:46

I just got a V8 and its absolutely unreal. Totally love it, totally worth the money. Not on offer but I don't care.

Sotiredbutcannotsleep · 26/10/2019 18:47

I bought a cordless Dyson Absolute on Black Friday 2 years ago at John Lewis at around £300 (this wasn't widely advertised, I just happened to see it online by accident but it said out of stock, I then called my local branch who had in it stock). So it was definitely a bargain.

blackteasplease · 26/10/2019 18:56

I got a pink/purple one, which was just over £200 because no one wanted the colour!

Pumperthepumper · 26/10/2019 19:07

Don’t do it - he promoted leave then fucked off abroad because Brexit doesn’t actually suit his business model. He also had plans for an electric car in 2016 but scrapped them
this year because it wasn’t commercially viable - yet we’re having to accept Brexit (also 2016, which he promoted) despite it absolutely not being commercially viable for the entire country. Fuck him.

SummerHouse · 26/10/2019 19:14

James does have questionable morals but he does make exceedingly good vacuums.

OhWifey · 26/10/2019 19:31

Go to the Dyson official eBay outlet. You'll get a really good deal on there including warranty

DontLookBackIntoTheSun · 26/10/2019 19:35

Dysons are shite. And I’d never give that man a penny of my cash

IWorkAtTheCheescakeFactory · 26/10/2019 19:35

They’re shit. Don’t by one.

BinkySodPlop · 26/10/2019 19:36

If you've had a Dyson in the past, chances are that your tools will fit, so no need to spend the extra on a new set. I have one and love it. It's a game changer on stairs.

ProseccoIsTheAnswerHere · 26/10/2019 19:37

Shit. Get a shark

IWorkAtTheCheescakeFactory · 26/10/2019 19:38

I meant buy! Grin

steff13 · 26/10/2019 19:44

A Dyson is not a Hoover

Of course it isn't; Hoover is a brand name.

Tellmetruth4 · 26/10/2019 19:57

Number 1. Dyson’s are over-rated for the cost. You can get a good vacuum cleaner for less.

Number 2. James Dyson recently scrapped an electric car which risks lots of jobs in the UK. He also campaigned heavily for Brexit, telling us all to ‘BeLeave’ in Britain and then promptly moved himself to Asia along with thousands of jobs.

I’m pissed off my workplace installed his hand dryers. I’m pissed off with lots of companies which supported Brexit but I’ve got some respect for those who have at least stayed in the UK. Dyson supports the UK from his low tax base in Asia where he can pay workers far less. Guess he’ll come back when he can re-employ his old British workers for less than his Asian workers as all he cares about is maximising his profits, loyal workers be damned.

breakfastpizza · 26/10/2019 20:03

Just chucked my second Dyson in 3 years and bought a Shark off Amazon. Bloody love it.

GreigLaidlawsbarofsoap · 26/10/2019 20:05

Get a Shark. Way way way better. And I have mud loving hairy dog.

MaryMoffett · 26/10/2019 20:07

God aren't there some dicks on this thread? Nit picking over grammar and bringing politics into it. Embarrassed for you. Can't just answer the question.

OP - I am vacuum cleaner addicted and have had all sorts. Currently have the Dyson V11, however it was expensive and couldn't get a deal. Have previously had V6 and V8 and liked both.

I don't rate Shark at all. Cumbersome and no suction power.

Go for the V8 if you can

cptartapp · 26/10/2019 20:08

We bought a hand held Dyson on Black Friday. Charge doesn't last long enough. Wouldn't buy another.

DramaAlpaca · 26/10/2019 20:11

Go for a Shark instead.

CaviarAndCigarettes · 26/10/2019 20:14

We bought a vax cordless from eBay. It was a company refurbished model - which for us meant a brand new item with a damaged box that couldn't be sold as brand new.

We paid £80 for it. I use it countless times a day and it is on its last legs now. We've used it for two years and have three small and very messy children. It is used on all of our laminate flooring after every meal, most snacks and intermittently throughout the day too. I would strongly recommend one
