West highland terriers for me Smile Mother has one and she's a delightful little bundle of energy!

Dalmatians. Like a walk, but quite chilled after. Intelligent and independent, keep you on your toes! Not small but not so big they are a problem. No extreme features. Short haired so minimal grooming although do shed like crazy. Also important - they don't drool!
I do also like fluffy dogs, but only if someone else grooms them!

I must confess I have a mongrel but I think he's delightful

Lurchers. Never met a lurcher owner who wanted another breed.

Elphame · 20/10/2019 23:03

Welsh terriers. Happy chilled little terriers but never a dull moment with one around.

Majorcollywobble · 20/10/2019 23:03

@missmouse101
Same here .

Mastiffs and beagles

HowDoIGetOffTheBus · 20/10/2019 23:06

Beagles. Heard work but so worth it.

DontCallMeShitley · 20/10/2019 23:09

Another vote for Staffies.
Used to want a Shar Pei until I met a Staffy.

Any scruffy mutt would do though, I love a mongrel, not an engineered one like the 'designer mix mongrels' a real accidental type one, especially if half of him is Staffy.

Samoyeds. But the hair. So much hair...

plominoagain · 20/10/2019 23:15

Greyhounds . So elegant , yet so so fast , and so laid back it’s untrue . The opposite of my other dog , a Dalmatian . A demanding , unrepentant clown , who is loyal to a fault and just keeps on running . Apart from when she’s pinning me down

Justsocross · 20/10/2019 23:15

Irish setters by far the best sweetest most lovely breed in the world ❤️

Dita73 · 20/10/2019 23:17

All of them. If I could I’d have one of each!

housewifeoflittleitaly · 20/10/2019 23:23

I adore dogs... I fact I prefer them to humans.

My fave dog is my German Shepard she’s amazing and brings me so much joy.

I’ve had springers & pomerians & found them both very different but equally loyal and amazing. Loving all those beautiful dogs.

GeorgiaGirl52 · 20/10/2019 23:23

Shih Tzu
Cavalier KC spaniels
Shetland Sheepdogs

  • all child friendly and other dog friendly and not too hyper.
Shih Tzu is first place because it is hypoallergenic and smallest.
LittleNightmare · 20/10/2019 23:45

Cocker spaniel Is my 💕

But I need another few lifetimes to have as many different breeds as id like!

runninguphills · 20/10/2019 23:55

Whippet. Quiet, affectionate, lazy and in my opinion - beautiful. The perfect dog!

Tartsamazeballs · 21/10/2019 00:49

German shepherds. Mine is more like a room mate than a dog!

Yes German shepherd! I love them. I wish I had one

Sunflower20 · 21/10/2019 01:16

Greyhounds/whippets - So gentle and sweet with soulful eyes that literally melt my heart!
Vizslas - LOVE their personalities and they’re just beautiful
Beagles - adorable and mischievous
I also love bedlington terriers
I can go on....absolutely love them all but I can’t have one anytime soon Sad
Please keep the photos coming!!

Jackchi

Sunflower20 · 21/10/2019 01:20

Sorry to derail but I remember staying at an air bnb and the owner had a whippet. She introduced me to him and he immediately brought me his toy duck, and started whining until I stopped chatting to acknowledge his toy. Then he snuggled next to me on the sofa...so sweet!

rededucator · 21/10/2019 01:22

Ours turned out to be a staffy black lab cross from the pound. We didn't know that until we met him though.
