yogafailure · 20/10/2019 22:06

Labradors....my latest black lab is currently playing some all in wrestling game with my 18 yo DD...Labs are such good natured sappy things Grin

JulietTango · 20/10/2019 22:09

Labs roll in too much muck.

My favourite is the springer spaniel. English or Welsh doesn't matter

MothershipG · 20/10/2019 22:10

Affenpinschers, I have 2, always surprised they are not more popular.

Brigante9 · 20/10/2019 22:11

Springers, of course! People seem to think they’re mad and a lot of work, I don’t think they are. I’m on my 3rd and 4th now. This one thinks he’s a panther. They’re velcro dogs, extremely affectionate.

Cocker spaniel every time - daft, loyal, intelligent, funny bundles of gorgeousness

sweetheartyparty · 20/10/2019 22:13

Miniature schnauzers. We had 2, both with very different personalities and such lovely dogs

Disneymum1993 · 20/10/2019 22:14

Jack russells mine is such a loving wee man and has a great nature x

BrokenWing · 20/10/2019 22:14

To look at: rottweilers are an impressive dog. Newfoundlands are gorgeous. Northern Inuit, wolf like.

To own as a family pet: labrador , golden retriever (gun dogs)

I like the look of terriers, but too feisty for me. Unsure about lurchers as have never known one.

Can't abide what I consider mutations for human pleasure - tiny toy/miniature of any breed - chi, dachshunds, etc. or anything brachycephali - pugs, Frenchies, etc bassets, English bulldogs etc. Too many of those poor dogs just suffer too much.

DramaAlpaca · 20/10/2019 22:14

I'm with Brigante9 on springer spaniels, and I'm also on my 3rd & 4th. Mine are also affectionate velcro dogs, full of energy & brilliant with kids. Just the perfect family dogs.

Lostintransfixation · 20/10/2019 22:15

Cockerpoo - mixed breed obvs. Loving, sociable and happy.

Crede · 20/10/2019 22:16

Labradors. I have a chocolate and a black one and they're the best Grin

babybythesea · 20/10/2019 22:17

Rough collie.
Brilliant with my kids, loves a cuddle, loves to walk and play but will stop if I stop meaning if I'm bird watching she doesn't scare them all away, loves a cuddle, not massively food orientated, and did I mention she loves a cuddle?!
Down side - she hates anyone being out of sight so if the kids want to play hide and seek while we are out on a walk, she ruins it by going and standing next to the hider. If the children hide she might even bark to let me know where they are...!
