I have the lurpak one too... I think I saved coupons for it in the late 90s. It has survived a few moves! I would love the egg cups Envy

Currently looking for a small one so we can have two as I'm gluten free and DH always leaves crumbs in the butter. Some lovely ones here!

Oneborneverydecade · 14/10/2019 14:42

bankitten those both gorgeous

Is the butter whale the new mumsnet scarf?

Themyscira · 14/10/2019 14:53

I found mine at a charity shop. Been to the shops today to replenish my butter stores. Lovely.

ErrolTheDragon · 14/10/2019 15:05

I buy lurpak spreadable. Does that count as butter?

I think so. It's just butter blended with rapeseed oil (no palm oil). Or Anchor, ditto.

I keep unsalted block butter in the fridge for cooking. I've got a butter dish in a Wedgewood design from about 30 years ago but never use it. If I wanted to put a bit out with a meal I'd just use a small dish.

Oh Mollpop, my parents had a whole load of that line, it really yanks my early 70's nostalgia. Flowers

Gorganzolabrie · 14/10/2019 15:28

Here's mine.

What strikes me about most of these dishes is that they're designed to look homey and comforting.

There's nothing comforting about a plastic tub of palm oil and preservatives.

That rabbit one, I want it! So many great butter dishes on this thread 😍

WeirdCatLady · 14/10/2019 15:49

My brand new Le Creuset butter dish. Was going to order from them online but after advice on here I popped into Home Sense (owned by TK Max) and I’ve just picked this up for £12.99 Star

This is my Art Deco butter dish from the 1930s - as you can see it’s in daily use. Love it! Found it at a flea market 20 years ago.

Mine is like this. Pyrex, I think the pattern is called Autumn Glory. It was a wedding present, and I have the matching casserole dishes and gravy boat too, but they only come out at Christmas.Smile

I think I need another butter dish actually. If not two.

You know - one in use, one in the wash and one for emergencies. or something.

MonstranceClock · 14/10/2019 15:58

I’ve never seen one before! Do you keep it out of the fridge??

Grasspigeons · 14/10/2019 16:00

I got a butter dish for my 40th! It has a beautiful peacock on it.

NemoIsLost · 14/10/2019 16:00

moomaa my gran had a whole dinner service in that cottage stuff, plates, cups, saucers, tea pot everything! I'm sure it's in my mum's loft. Probably a butter dish in there too!

GrumpiestCat · 14/10/2019 16:04

I posted these on the other thread. They are from eBay but I used to have the snowflake one and my partner has the curly pattern one. Love the vintage 70/80s feel! Current one v bland!

To whoever asked: I keep unsalted butter in mine as it is expensive/hard to get salted. Haven't had any problems but don't use it in the summer (hot country).

TheCaddyisaBaddie · 14/10/2019 16:13

I have 2 of the glass cow ones. Love em
