Shit pic, but ours looks like a sardine can. From Tiger. Had it three years now.

I love some of those posted and think a collection would be lovely... But I don't want the ghost of Marie Kondo haunting me!

I have Lurpak loaf tins and brownie tins for baking. There was an offer a few years ago where you bought a pack containing two packs of butter and a free baking tray and I got two of each type

I got those too, Seville They are really good quality, especially considering that they were FREE! (My favourite price! )

I never imagined that i would ever suffer from Butter Dish Envy - but there are some truly beautiful ones on here.

Mine is similar to yours but without the cow (sulk). I too use it as a plate with a cover unlike my friend who uses her identical one the other way round, i.e. WRONG!!

I can't think of many things less likely to spark joy than margarine tbh.

By which I mean, it is an inherently depressing food. It's a sad replacement for the thing you actually want but for some reason can't have, or think you can't. It's the carob of the things you put on toast or bake with world.

This is mine. My house is mostly pretty minimalist but this is my little bit of kitsch frivolity and I love him. It pains me that 50% of my household can't eat dairy!

Here's my monstrosity. There is a little door on the other side (I'm at work so pics of Google)

I was drunk one night and decided I wanted ironic kitch stuff, so bought this I actually also had a toast rack, bread bin, tea pot, tea cups, coffee pot, milk jug and mugs, tea/coffee/sugar pots all on watch too. but luckily only bought the butter dish.

Dh and DC still joke about my drunken buy, and are sincerely glad I was didn't buy the rest in the cold light of day.

it is used and is on the side for all to see

I have a butter dish,but found the butter doesn`t fit it.
Went back to butter around 10 years ago.

I wish I could have a butter dish DH is vegan so there's no point in buying butter really. I don't mind the plant based alternatives - although I do prefer them out of the fridge but they wouldn't hold their shape.

I want the whale one! I dont like butter but I'm.eating now out of principle. I think.a.whale butter dish would make it go down a little better

This is my one: I wanted French Blue but TK Maxx ran out so I had to get black, although I will replace it with blue one day! It's a very good butter dish, even though it is fondly nicknamed The Death Star...

There are some lovely ones on this thread! The stainless steel with a woodbloock lid one a few posts in, my mum still has that one, she's had it longer than she's had me and I'm 29. Can confirm it's bomb proof. Also, @vampirethriller, 99% we had the entire crockery set to match your butter dish as an inherited spare set of crockery.

I have butter dish envy - mine is plain, white and boring. Converted to butter years ago and although I have to limit how much I have (thanks middle-aged waistline!), there is no chance in hell I would ever use any form of 'spread' - I'd rather go without entirely.

My friend is also a recent convert to butter but she places the partially opened butter straight into the dish so the wrapper goes in too.

@TomHagenMakesMyBosomTremble - I actually bought mine as I missed the offer, packed them all away and moved house, moved house again, and again, and have just discovered them. Have put them aside to sell as I no longer use egg cups and am unlikely to need the butter dish either. They are sitting in their little plain white boxes waiting to be photographed and sold, I just haven't got around to it yet.

I buy lurpak spreadable. Does that count as butter? I don't like margarine

Mine's very similar to this. I bought it for nostalgia from the days of making jelly in a rabbit shaped jelly mould.

@seven201 I bought my rabbit-obsessed cousin a rabbit jelly mould for nostalgia a couple of years ago, too! Bought my dad a cat one.

Mines like this one. Don't know where he came from but he does the job.
