It really drives me mad. You are obviously mainly famous or successful because of connections. I know some are them are talented but surely connections of parents help. David Hasslehoff's daughter has said it. Kelly Osborne, Lilly Allen and loads more.

I former friends son had something as a small child @IcedPurple. I don't know if it was charisma but he was just magnetic like he had a shining light that made you look at him and smile.

IcedPurple · 16/10/2019 18:38

Well, whenever I look at any of the Beckham sprogs - or their parents - all I can do is cringe.

HUZZAH212 · 16/10/2019 18:45

@IcedPurple This is very true! To be fair I can recall going on a holiday when I was about 8 with DGPs, and there was a lot of fuss one afternoon surrounding a man dishing out autographs... It was Paul Daniels son 🙄 I was even pretty umm what? Even at that age.

itssquidstella · 16/10/2019 18:48

@IcedPurple compared to other children, yes he did. I'm not saying he was [insert notoriously charismatic celebrity of your choice here] level, but he was both naturally charming and a total sweetie.

PhilSwagielka · 16/10/2019 19:09

Did David Beckham not ever consider sending his sons to the Manchester United academy or something? Other footballers have done it. One of Tim Cahill's sons is at the Everton academy, Petr Cech and Jose Mourinho's sons are at the Chelsea one. I'd have thought that would be the obvious choice but I guess they're more interested in the kids going down the same route as Victoria.

PhilSwagielka · 16/10/2019 19:12

Incidentally, I knew a family who sent their daughters to Bedales. They were extremely posh. Like, massive house in the country, regular holidays to remote parts of Africa posh.

I'm sure I can recall one of the kids (possibly Brooklyn?) giving football a go. But I assume, like everything else he's tries his hand at, showed absolutely no aptitude for it whatsoever. As someone has said above, sport is the one thing these kids need to be actually good at to make a go of it. With modelling, acting, photography etc, they only need to be passable.

VB had a go at designing a range for Target (US supermarket). You’d want to have seen the clothes. Terrible and cheap looking.

I’ve got one of her ‘Victoria by Victoria Beckham’ dresses. £370. It’s a nice dress and was designed by somebody who knew what they were doing (so not VB).

Skinnychip · 16/10/2019 19:47

I Romeo Beckham is (allegedly) a really accomplished tennis player. I read somewhere (although this may or may not be true) that he had training sessions with Grigor Dimitrov?

Iamthewombat · 16/10/2019 20:07

Why would Grigor Dimitrov give tennis lessons to the son of multi-millionaires? I‘all give that some thought and get back to you.

IcedPurple · 16/10/2019 20:15

he was both naturally charming and a total sweetie.

Obviously doesn't take after either of his parents then.

HUZZAH212 · 16/10/2019 20:16

@PhilSwagielka I suppose the issue is whether they show a natural aptitude or not though? DF worked fairly high up in the sporting community a few decades ago, and had been semi pro in a sport himself in younger years. DB showed a natural ability for sport and he tried to 'support' it in a cpl of different sports. Not so much for money and fame (obviously nice too) but a genuine 'love of the game'. My mum interved in the end when DB clearly didn't want to go down that road. It's never enough to be mediocre/good, unless you actively want to dedicate your entire career life to aspiring to be great.

@HUZZAH212 Oh yeah, the greats live, eat and breathe football. It's their life.

I liked Beckham enough as a player, apart from the fact he played for Man United, but the whole celebrity circus surrounding him and his family is so embarrassing. WAG culture makes me cringe, although at least Victoria was famous in her own right before she met him, unlike, say, Coleen Rooney.

100PercentThatBitch · 16/10/2019 22:44

I think David was quite clear that Harper was his last hope football wise

All three boys were given every opportunity at London youngsters sides but none had the ability, passion or commitment and were let go the same way Joe Soaps sons would be.

So nepotism in sport doesn't always work if opportunity finds no talent

Bouledeneige · 16/10/2019 23:19

Here's another one: Abby Clancy's daughter makes her modelling debut on a range they 'co-designed' for Lipsy!! Yeah right...

Iamthewombat · 16/10/2019 23:33

There is more where that came from. Today’s Metro informs me that Liam Gallagher’s daughter, Molly Moorish (who he apparently met for the first time last year...she was born after he had ‘a fling’ with Patsy Kensit’s former best mate, Lisa Moorish, whilst he was still married to Patsy Kensit) has landed a modelling campaign for All Saints.

She added the Gallagher to her name after meeting Liam. It’s all right, though, we don’t have to worry about nepotism. That is because Molly tells us that she “has no interest in riding on the coat tails of her parents” and has “always been encouraged to find my own way”. So that’s all right then.

Molly is a very normal looking 21 year old. Normal looking 21 year old girls get picked for fashion campaigns all the time, don’t they?

Bouledeneige · 17/10/2019 00:00

Gosh I'm so glad she found her Dad and her surname. It must have meant the world to her. She will definitely go a long way without riding on anyone's coat tails.

HUZZAH212 · 17/10/2019 00:35

I think I feel a bit of sympathy towards Molly Moorish though. Liam hasn't given a shit until now, and publicly proclaimed 'he was too busy to bother with his other kids'. That's got to hurt as a young person, and whilst she originally may have wanted to kick the silly prick in the balls or desperately craved his attention. Now she get to make a couple of quid for herself off the back of him not being too monged to say hello. I'd imagine she views it as compensation for him being a deadbeat dad.

100PercentThatBitch · 17/10/2019 00:46

I mean even though he's met Molly he didn't bother his arse with her til she was grown up and he basically said that meeting Molly doesn't mean he's going to bother with the other child he fathered Gemma who is still a young child

PhilSwagielka · 17/10/2019 08:55

The Gallaghers really are becoming everything they supposedly hate.
