To not want to re-home my dog

My DP is terrified of my dog (his breed) he was physically attacked bybone and never got over it . He is a fantastic do, great with the DC, loves my mum's toy breed dog but mine he can't handle it. The hairs stand up on his arms when he even talks about him. He understands the upset it will bring in rehoming , however I don't want to 😭

Tartsamazeballs ah well, with a sense of humour like that I'm sure you and your dog will be very happy together.

Noselfconfidenceatall · 11/10/2019 20:10

Please do not rehome, he doesn’t live with you, why should your dog lose his home because of your Bf.
How long have you been together?
Do not pander to him, what next? Dislikes one of your kids? Move them out?
It’s not his house and if he doesn’t like it tell him not to come over.

Noselfconfidenceatall · 11/10/2019 20:23

He has tried , he makes the dogd dinner for him.every morning (adds tit bits, pilchards, chicken, egg, etc ) and feeds him.by placing thr bowl down through the door , he has also even sat next to him why he has been in his crate , he has honestly tried but he seems to go.one step forwards two steps back , but I'm not backing down just yet

I don't think so TwoPupsandaHamster
It's my house they moved into and it's me who pays the bills. Because I'm not a monster, you know.

BeesKnees4 · 11/10/2019 20:34

@Noselfconfidenceatall
How long have you known him?
Is he hoping to move in?
If he can feed and sit with the dog Im afraid I think he’s being manipulative.
Be firm and tell him the dog stays.

Wow! 😨 Your DP sounds like a prize catch. At least he has stuck by his dog. Kudos to him for that

Magicmama92 · 18/10/2019 09:53

I really hope you keep your dog. If he can feed the dog then hes just being manipulative I'm terrified of spiders I couldn't go feed them I'd be shaking and in tears.
