It seems very out of character for Harry? Confused I wonder if he misinterpreted and thought she was asking about the lawsuit...

Why is no one else commenting on the timing of the publication of this?

Piers published this clip on the daily mail, directly alongside an article saying "harry stop playing the victim".

These are both of his responses to Harry and Meghan suing the media.

Are we all going to blindly follow what Piers tells us to think?

Abouttimemum · 03/10/2019 14:37

I’ve been involved in lots of royal visits and there’s lots they aren’t allowed to do because of security. Also a team of press officers manages their every move and general conversation while there. There’s always a security team, met police and local police 48 hours ahead of every visit to comb every nook and cranny. And it takes weeks to have everything in place. I don’t know Harry and have no idea what he’s like, but people saying royals won’t do certain things because they’re above their station is definitely incorrect.

angell84 · 03/10/2019 14:38

@elprup it is on the daily mail homepage , right beside Pier's article saying "Harry stop being a victim". I am sure that Piers had alot to do with it.

angell84 · 03/10/2019 14:39

Look at the daily mail homepage, and the order of articles.

There are lots on Harry and Meghan today. And lots of talk about them suing the media.

MonChatEstMagnifique · 03/10/2019 14:39

AudacityOfHope

I think you are right. But the people who hate Harry and the RF won't want to hear it. They can't win.

Bluntness100 · 03/10/2019 14:39

I'm not really sure what's going on with them. They aren't coming across well. It's like the wish to give their messages out, but not be asked questions or bear any scrutiny at all. The do as we say, not as we do.

The "ask them" response wasn't right. I also don't understand why rhey used the African tour as the platform to launch their law suit. They are representing the queen there, it's not all about them. That tour was no place for his speech and simply detracted from what they were trying to seemingly achieve.

It came across like they felt their message about the press and their law suit was far more important than Africa.

It's very very odd.

Travis1 · 03/10/2019 14:40

Context is everything, what had gone before? Not a coincidence it's the daily mail who 'broke' the story and as for the comments on twitter jst absolutely fucking vile.

Gruzinkerbell1 · 03/10/2019 14:42

They’ve wrecked such a successful trip with that statement against the press. Every article written, including in the Daily Fail, was glowing and complimentary. Then they released that statement and now the knives are well and truly out.

They should have just stayed at home quietly watching Netflix.

Badtasteflump · 03/10/2019 14:44

Condescending prick.

Bluntness100 · 03/10/2019 14:45

agree, their law suit, the statement he made has completely and utterly over shadowed any work done in Africa. They must have known this would happen.

As said it's very odd to do this to something they claim to love passionately.

RoseQuartzGlow · 03/10/2019 14:47

@Bluntness100
I agree with you

RoseQuartzGlow · 03/10/2019 14:49

I don't think he was rude. He was irritated and trying to get into the car. Obviously she was asking him about something inappropriate . The legal action? It wasn't the time or place. He was polite, but irritated.

Sagradafamiliar · 03/10/2019 14:52

Mountain out of a molehill
He was on the back foot and vaguely amused by the accusatory tone of the question, 'what do you hope to achieve with this?'- the wording and way she asked it is what you'd say to reprimand someone. Bizarre and he didn't really know how to react.
Car door thing is neither here nor there.

Orgyofsausages · 03/10/2019 14:53

I expect he did it because he's heartily sick and tired of twattish 'reporters' yapping at his heels 24/7 like flies on a pile of turds. I thought he was remarkably restrained, given the circumstances.

Instead of chasing someone to his car like a fucking stalker, why don't the Sky 'reporters' go and do something useful like getting embedded with the Houthis in Yemen or something? the papparazzi really are a bunch of parasitic cunts, IMO.

DianaT1969 · 03/10/2019 14:56

It's standard security protocol that a potential target doesn't open or close the vehicle door himself/herself. It slows down a getaway and access.

Sashtag · 03/10/2019 14:59

I've always been ambivalent to the royals but any enemy of the Daily Mail is okay in my book.

Orgyofsausages · 03/10/2019 14:59

'Royal correspondent' my arse. What sort of invented crappsville 'job' is that when it's at home? I wonder what GCSE grade they managed for that one.

VladmirsPoutine · 03/10/2019 15:01

He was irritated and trying to get into the car. Of course wires are frayed.. he's literally released a statement about fearing his wife is facing the same his problems his mother did - and that ended in her death.
The hounding his wife gets must make them on edge. Notice William never had to do this sort of thing for Kate... the worst she got was something along the lines of other poshos saying "doors to manual", much rather that than being described as 'straight outta compton' when the Duchess is patently not.

They don't owe their lives to anyone, they're not going to be King or Queen. They're protecting their baby and their lives. It seems the press have daggers out for them.

DianaT1969 · 03/10/2019 15:03

I'm more surprised by the female in a hat with Harry who half-heartedly tried to open the door, got in his way and slowed him. Not sharp. I wouldn't want any of those people in the video as my security detail.

Bluntness100 · 03/10/2019 15:03

The reporter clearly wasn't rude, he also clearly understood what she was asking, as he responded with "ask them"

And if he's sick of reporters then he shouldn't be on the African tour. It's not realistic that he can stand up, say what he wants, it's reported and there is no questions. It was minutes if that, till he was in the car and away from them. If he can't bear to be polite for those couple of mins then he really should look at not doing these publicity tours, as it's not a nice way to behave.

Orgyofsausages · 03/10/2019 15:05

It seems one merely needs to be obsessed with celebrity and to be confident with a base of around four adverbs to be a 'reporter' these days.

Bluntness100 · 03/10/2019 15:06

The hounding his wife gets must make them on edge. Notice William never had to do this sort of thing for Kate... the worst she got was something along the lines of other poshos saying "doors to manual

How short people's memories are. Kate was hounded. From being called with Kate to the wisteria sisters, to slagging off her dress sense, to insinuations she went to St. Andrews just to get William, to her mother being brought into it, to even fake pregnancies. Kate was totally ripped apart and for years.

Bluntness100 · 03/10/2019 15:06

From being called waity Kate, sorry

Gardai · 03/10/2019 15:15

And meanwhile uncle Andy slips into the background whilst everyone’s concentrating on picking the sussexes apart...

TheFairyCaravan · 03/10/2019 15:18

I'd like to see what went on before but the Daily Mail and Piers Morgan are shit stirrers and are just out to cause trouble for Harry and Meghan.

Piers Morgan is an bloody awful specimen. How he's still working is beyond me.
