General Election tomorrow question

bridgetreilly · 26/09/2019 19:32

So, I did the MN survey and was a bit stumped by the question about who I would vote for if there was an election tomorrow. Like, at the moment, it's hard to remember whether we've still got a government from one day to the next. I know who I normally vote for but right now? Who knows! I'm not sure the results from that question will be all that representative of Mumsnetters normal political preferences.

I can't believe the people who would vote Tory. Disgusting.

SNP always now.

RatherBeAScummerThanASkate · 26/09/2019 20:15

Labour. It’s a two horse race here. I don’t understand how anyone could vote Tory particularly if you are, or know anyone who is disabled or poor or female.

Jolonglegs · 26/09/2019 20:17

If we had a PR system then it would have to be Green. But given that we haven't then tactical voting comes into play, so Lib Dem in my seat.

Elle - Voted Tory last time because we’d just bought a house and my Dad commented that makes us middle class so we should vote Tory

Why would you vote Tory because your dad told you to: don't you think things through yourself? Come on MN's get a grip, the next GE will be very important.

LoveSatsumas · 26/09/2019 20:19

Tory, purely because of Boris.
BTW, I'm an educated, 60ish, female.

Madvixen · 26/09/2019 20:19

Labour aren't exactly doing anything to win over the female vote!

I genuinely have no idea who I would vote for. I've always voted Tory but I cannot bring myself to do it now. I can't vote for any of the major parties so I'll have to hope I have an independent who I can bring myself to vote for

NewStart571 · 26/09/2019 20:20

Yes, I often wonder what drives people to vote Conservative.

Whenever I ask the question, I never get a sensible answer. I live in a working class area and know people on benefits who are staunch conservative voters!

SabineUndine · 26/09/2019 20:22

Labour.

GorkyMcPorky · 26/09/2019 20:23

I would normally vote LD and probably still will. I'm uncomfortable about them cancelling without a referendum but if enough people vote, that has to be democratic anyway.

Never ever ever Tory!! Ever!! Labour probably but maybe Lib dem.

Monst3ra · 26/09/2019 20:26

Can't understand why anyone would vote tory. Even the toriest of tories are not supporting them anymore. It seems the ones most likely to be ruined by them are their biggest supporters.

Labour would have my vote, but only because they're the least worst option with a chance of keeping their seat in my area.

CendrillonSings · 26/09/2019 20:26

Yes, it’s pretty damning to have your own family effectively denounce you.

Is it now? How interesting:

Piers Corbyn has relentlessly criticised Labour’s approach to Brexit on Twitter and even described the EU as ‘the Fourth Reich’.

The 72-year-old weather forecaster, who is a sceptic about climate change, described Labour’s campaign against No Deal as ‘a cover to trash the historic democratic mandate to leave’ and describes its backers as ‘enemies of the people’.

Oh dear! Grin

marvellousnightforamooncup · 26/09/2019 20:27

I'd vote for my Labour MP. I agree with him on most things.

averylongtimeago · 26/09/2019 20:28

I will vote tactically to get rid of the ERG Tory in our constituency.

At the moment that's Labour. I have met the local candidate and I liked her.

onalongsabbatical · 26/09/2019 20:33

...who is a sceptic about climate change.. can be ignored on any subject then.

Vix20678 · 26/09/2019 20:34

Labour.

Ivgotasecretcanyoukeepit · 26/09/2019 20:34

Conservatives as always. How could anyone vote labour is beyond comprehension Hmm

Proseccoinamug · 26/09/2019 20:36

Labour. The ‘anything but this lot’ vote.

ginghambox · 26/09/2019 20:39

Conservative in support of our pro-brexit MP.

SilverySurfer · 26/09/2019 20:40

Conservative of course.

Really222 · 26/09/2019 20:41

Green or Lib Dem - probably Lib Dem. Though it will be to contribute to vote share as my constituency is normally Labour. If it were a Tory / Labour marginal, I would vote Labour.

NewStart571 · 26/09/2019 20:42

Can any of the PPs who have said they will vote Conservative please explain to me why you will vote this way?

I’m genuinely keen to understand the rationale. 🙂

user1573354 · 26/09/2019 20:45

Voted Tory last time because we’d just bought a house and my Dad commented that makes us middle class so we should vote Tory

Desperately hope you are a troll and this didn't actually happen. I'm gobsmacked someone could be so fucking ignorant.

Fluffsmum · 26/09/2019 20:45

Lib Dem probably, I'm usually LD but did vote Labour last time.

PatchworkElmer · 26/09/2019 20:46

Lib Dem
