Wank tissue left on sofa

I’ve name changed for this and will no doubt be accused of making this up, or maybe not, don’t know how common this is.

This morning I went into the living room and found a clump of wet tissues on the sofa which my partner had clearly used to dry himself after wanking. I know this is absolutely gross, and I’m furious - was already angry enough and have changed my ways recently so that I’m only doing my own laundry, my own washing up etc as I don’t see why I should have to do his, and now he has left this on the sofa. He did subsequently bin it without me asking (how good of him) but i find it so disrespectful that he’d just leave it there for me to find. I know this reads like a parody post of ‘angry/first world problem mumsnetter’ but it’s sadly not. Is this common? I highly doubt it. We don’t have children thank god.

@Lairymary he disposed of it without being asked, I'm not clear if OP told him it was there or he just remembered or noticed!

MashedSpud · 25/09/2019 15:26

LTLB - Leave the lazy bastard.

SaraNade · 25/09/2019 15:27

So, is he your partner or not?' Because it doesn't sound like you are a couple, it sounds more like you are flatmates who hate each other.

The thread is funny, but irritating. I don't understand the constant use on this site of the word 'grim' (sinister, dire, serious), almost obsessively. 99% of the time, the word doesn't even suit the actual flow of the topic or sentence. I've lost count of the number of times the word 'grim' was used in this thread alone - 0% in the proper context. Posters on this site have a 'grim' obsession with the word grim. Lol

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 25/09/2019 15:30

For those who have said how do you know it's not snot, erm the smell? As for 'spunk rose' - LOL!

Bibidy · 25/09/2019 15:40

LOL @ people telling OP to leave her husband for leaving a used tissue lying about. Bloody hell.

oohyoudevilyou · 25/09/2019 15:40

@chocolatesaltyballs22

I thought this when DH mistook my Stylista creme for DS's waste DNA. Guys it doesn't smell great, nor does it taste like manna from heaven Grin

Funghi · 25/09/2019 15:50

What does it smell like?

Roozy123 · 25/09/2019 15:51

"grim adjective (UNPLEASANT)

C2 informal
very unpleasant or ugly:"

I would say finding a wank tissue on your sofa would be pretty grim.

BlueChangeling · 25/09/2019 15:53

My husband uses a sock, I have zero issues with this but it did piss me off that he just left them about for me to pick up despite repeated requests to put it in the machine or basket. I go to bed wayyy earlier than him so I totally understand why he does it on the sofa when he's in the mood.

That all stopped when he had his mates round to watch the footie and I walked in with the crusty sock and asked what he'd been doing with it.

He now makes an effort to put them straight in the machine.

AlexaAmbidextra · 25/09/2019 15:54

seamen on sofa

How many sailors can you get on your sofa? 😂

IncrediblySadToo · 25/09/2019 15:54

We all forget/miss things. He removed it as soon as he realised it was there. Failing to see what the Big Fat Fuss is about from posters in general.

However, OP, given the fact you’ve taken a stand on other issues, maybe this is the final straw?

womenspeakout · 25/09/2019 15:55

I dunno. It's like, it can be a honest mistake, especially if he picked it up now.

He probably did it and didn't get up right away, and then forgot.

I once left a wrapped up sanitary towel on the side in the bathroom, I don't have a bin in there and had wrapped it and put it in tissue, but I had to do other things in the loo afterwards and left it. I was mortified, but it's just one of those things of life.

Funghi · 25/09/2019 15:56

Why do people keep mentioning socks like it’s normal? Why would men use socks to wank into? It makes no sense.

SoBloodySleepy · 25/09/2019 15:56

It seems from your OP that this might be one small thing in a larger problem but tackling this situation alone, I just couldn't get that worked up about it, sorry.

Its abit grim sure but I'd probably have just made a joke out of it, DH would have been a bit embarrassed and we'd move on with our day in the hope that he not do it again.

Are you bothered that he was wanking or that he left the tissue out?

Roozy123 · 25/09/2019 15:57

OP I have also found similar by the side of bed in the past so it’s not a one off

Confusedbeetle · 25/09/2019 15:57

reminds me one one stuck to Dorothys face in Men Behaving Badly

AlexaAmbidextra · 25/09/2019 16:00

He now makes an effort to put them straight in the machine.

Is there a separate spunky sock wash or do they go in the general laundry? I ask as I would think that many MNers would indeed find it grim that crusty socks were revolving around with their La Perla or their precious DC’s babygros.

VictoriaBun · 25/09/2019 16:03

Yes it's slovenly of him to leave it about, agreed.
But as you sound like you are leading fairly separate lives, doing your own washing up , laundry I'm assuming live isn't a bed of roses at home. So perhaps what he does in private is not your concern, but just ask him to bin the evidence.

PhilCornwall1 · 25/09/2019 16:04

@Laralippy This should solve the problem. Third comment down on the picture says so!

A wank sock is pretty well known. A lot of guys do it as there's less fuss/mess afterwards. It's something they do from when they're kids and it sticks.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 25/09/2019 16:07

My husband must do it in the shower as he leaves no trace whatsoever! He's obviously a keeper hahaha

PhilCornwall1 · 25/09/2019 16:08

Eh?? I've never knocked one out in a sock. Shit, I haven't lived!!

Rezie · 25/09/2019 16:08

Was is an accident or was he making a point? I mean as a one of I can understand. There has been a few times that I've used my vibrator in the bathroom and forgotten it to the shelve. But it sound like this is a larger issue.

Rezie · 25/09/2019 16:09

A wank sock is pretty well known.
I've seen this is movies and tv but iwnonder how much it actually happens in real life

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 25/09/2019 16:11

Well yeah I imagine it would stick, especially if you chucked it at the wall!
