I'm very recently single so not anywhere near ready to mingle. I'm 48 and know what I want though. Thinking far into future dating any potential partner would have to meet certain criteria (my kids obviously) and certain things would be deal breakers. I couldn't date a racist for example. Probably not a smoker. I'd need to know their politics and views on Brexit 🤣

I just caught myself wondering if I’d date someone who was retired- shit I’m old

In my 20s I was looking for someone with the holy trinity of

• own place to live (rented fine)
• own car
• job

I never managed to find a boyfriend with all three and DH only had one of these (working as a waiter 😂)

No excessive drinking. Not aggressively mood. Not addicted to fixing up cars (once had a letter from the council asking if we were running a private garage when I was with my ex. 12 old cars outside...)
No brown shoes.

Not great eyes - eyes are window to the soul

People who come out with twee nonsense like this.

Big calves
Lack of chest hair
Jewellery

Deal breakers: Anyone who thinks being 'mad' and 'wacky' is a replacement for a personality.
Emotional immaturity
Anyone who uses the words 'chuckle' 'leccy' 'slacks' 'panties' (there are more, don't wish to derail thread)
Anyone with his balls in mummy's handbag
Meanness with money, time or affection
Disrespectful
Unkind
Fantasists
Sport fans
Running/cycling obsessives (Obsessives generally)
