Nuggy nugs

Before I get a flaming for eating maccys: I'm a fit, 30 YO woman who does serious cardio 4x a week, with strength training. I'm a healthy size 10-12. I limit sugar, I eat salads etc etc. You get the picture.

I've been out tonight for a wine or two, so I treated myself to some maccys nugs on the way home. I LOVE maccys nugs. I once had a nugs salad because I couldn't finish a share box so had them with salad the next day.

Someone has just told me to stop eating them on the tube as it's disrespectful. I can't work out if I have offended the skinny, the fat, the under privileged or the overprivileged.

I had BBQ sauce. It's not all over my face. I work really hard, I deserve these nugs.

YABU for 'nuggy nugs' are you two? And eating them the next day.. Savage.
Get in the bin.

JassyRadlett · 20/09/2019 07:43

Oh no OP, you can’t have that, you’re letting yourself down.

Surely bakey bake?

sapphiresandchampagne · 20/09/2019 08:32

When did I say I was eating them the next day?!

No bakery on commute route Sad Greg's maybe!

Are the spicy nuggets any good? The regular ones taste like cardboard... not sure why DD loves them so much.

MarthasGinYard · 20/09/2019 08:42

Ugh

Are you like this in RL

EdersonsSmileyTattoo · 20/09/2019 08:43

It doesn’t matter what size or weight you are, that’s neither here nor there.

Eating on public transport is horrid. Sorry.

Bezalelle · 20/09/2019 08:47

NUGGY NUGS!

faints clean away

zingally · 20/09/2019 08:49

You're clearly a drunk lunatic for calling them nuggy nugs. But apart from that, I love them too. So YANBU.

NameChange84 · 20/09/2019 09:00

YABVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVU using the terms "nugs" and "nuggys" Envy.

At school in the late 90s we would get a detention for eating in public in school uniform if we were seen by a member of staff. So no eating on the bus or chips and pasties on the way home from school. It was viewed as being very poor in terms of manners.

Whilst I understand people do have to eat on long train journeys, I think it was a bit off to eat on the tube in all honesty. It does show a lack of respect and courtesy for other people. I think you should have eaten in the McDonalds and then got the tube.

This is one area of life that I wish hadn't changed. Constant munching wherever you go often by people that don't have great eating habits (I.e chewing loudly, scoffing lots of food into their mouths). I think some people really lack insight into how terrible it looks, sounds or smells and how intrusive it can be.

I wouldn't have said anything to you but I would have moved away from you.

Igetknockeddownbutgetupagain · 20/09/2019 09:04

Duchess

Howwwww very dare you. Cardboard. I might have to go out later and console myself with some original and best nuggets (no nugs here), as a result of that comment.

😜

"When did I say I was eating them the next day?! "

You said you ate them in a salad the next day in your OP. We're not just making stuff up about your nuggy nug consumption! (autocorrect wants me to change it to "buggy nun" btw).

Frangipane · 20/09/2019 09:49

I thought this was going to be one of those threads where we share what our toddlers called breasts.

Neck that Anadin OP. I bet you need it.

WonderTweek · 20/09/2019 10:00

Am I the only one that is a bit tickled by the word "nugs" then? I must be easily amused but I did have a quiet chuckle at "nuggy nugs". 😁 Although I have form of using silly words at home (only to my husband and toddler mind!) and used to refer to my rabbits as "ribby ribs" and "rabby rabs", so maybe that's why.

Anyway, I wouldn't eat nuggets on the tube though but I don't think I would be hugely offended if someone else did. As long as it wasn't smelly or too noisy.

redchocolatebutton · 20/09/2019 10:08

yabu for calling them nuggy nugs

they do smell a bit, but so does a brie sandwich or lentil soup...

Clangus00 · 20/09/2019 10:22

I thought this was going to be a thread having a go at someone for calling them nuggy nugs to their child 😂
I love a wee McDonald’s nugget.

OhMsBeliever · 20/09/2019 10:24

Nuggy nugs. Grin

Surely there will be lots of drunk people eating greasy takeaways on the tube at night? I do it on the bus after a night out. It wouldn't bother me. You go right ahead and eat all the nuggy nugs you want.

KatherineJaneway · 20/09/2019 10:24

I prefer 'buggy nun' to 'nuggy nugs' Grin

HavelockVetinari · 20/09/2019 10:27

There was a poster series a few years ago that asked people not to eat smelly food (which fried food definitely is) on the Tube. YWBU.

MyKingdomForBrie · 20/09/2019 10:31

@FrangipaniBlue 'you've drank' is much worse than nuggy

You can't be a language snob with shit grammar..

VapeVamp12 · 20/09/2019 10:33

Obviously none of you follow the FB page "People eating on tubes", it's good entertainment.

Really, unless you're going from one side of London to the other, you're only on the tube for five minutes. Eat the nuggets!!

VapeVamp12 · 20/09/2019 10:34

Also eating on the tube at 11pm is very different to 6am!

User12879923378 · 20/09/2019 10:35

I once had to eat a Five Guys on the train because I'd misread the board and thought the train was leaving later than it was. I wasn't going to bin a £9 burger under any circumstances.

Besides, it was an overground long-distance train with a buffet car selling hot food to take back to your seat. Nothing as good as a Five Guys burger though.

I get a bit miserable when people eat very strong smelling food on the Tube, but I don't really think chicken nuggets are that offensive in terms of smell (content obviously another matter but that's the OP's funeral) and I honestly don't care what the OP wants to call them.

Spidey66 · 20/09/2019 10:37

I don't care about you eating McDonalds (am partial to the occasional McChicken Sandwich myself from time to time, but eating hot food on the tube isn't nice for other passengers.

GruciusMalfoy · 20/09/2019 10:38

Nuggy nugs 😂 Dafuq?!

They're not smelly, are they? I've smelt worse things being eaten on republic transport. Tuna sandwiches reek, but I've seen people eat those.
