LOL at Bojo's big Euro appearance. He ran away. The euro minister was alone at the 2 podiums. He is an utter disgrace we should all be ashamed of him. AIBU to say he's a bloody embarrassment?

"@ChocChocButtons no definitely not been stalking your posts. I just notice things when I read posts and replies and I've seen your replies"

@SistersOfMerci Welcome to the club A very exclusive one. Ive also been accused of the same simply because i have an excellent memory.

The best bit is when they gaslight and keep on accusing even when you remind them you"ve been on the same threads as them and thats how you"ve remembered what theyve posted.

I suspect this club will gain more than two members Smile

The world doesn't owe England a living
But apparently England owes everyone else a living

Seriously - do you really mean England?

Just asking 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

StoneofDestiny · 17/09/2019 04:49

Johnson is a total bawbag and clearly needs to get used to dealing with those who don't support him, as his limited skill at addressing people is at the Elton debating society, the Tory Party Conference and his soundbite TV appearances.

StoneofDestiny · 17/09/2019 04:54

Eton, not Elton

Fuzzywuzzywuzzy · 17/09/2019 05:24

@Justanotherlurker

Good for you going up against the tide of Boris hate on here. As you said Boris Johnson was in a lose/lose situation.

The person that did not conduct himself well was Bettel.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 17/09/2019 05:51

For the millionth time

Remainer =/= Corbyn supporter
Anti-Tory =/= corbyn supporter
Anti no deal =/= corbyn supporter
Thinking that corbyn would be a better option as a PM than BJ =/= corbyn supporter (frankly the bar on “better than BJ”
is very low)

HTH

theduchessstill · 17/09/2019 07:12

Lurker is always here as an apologist for the right under the guise of 'critical thinking'. Maybe Johnson was unfairly treated yesterday, but the it in no way cancels out the other utterly appalling things he has done before and since becoming PM and anyone who thinks otherwise either supports the hard right agenda he is now pushing or is totally stupid. Or perhaps is so enamoured of his Brexit policy they are blinded to his faults.

proudestofmums · 17/09/2019 07:23

Here’s a minor, possibly irrelevant glimmer of light - at least now the worst Prime Minister in history will no longer be determined to be a woman

mummmy2017 · 17/09/2019 07:38

I think walking away from a speech in front of a hostile crowd is far better than having everything you say shouted down for 5 mins, where was a similar group of people who supported him to make it fair.
But all people want on here is to call names and shout that they are not getting their own way.
The EU wanted our money, but can see it slipping away, and this frightens them, Germany is about to pass a law to restrict how much they have to give, wonder how many others will do the same.

BertrandRussell · 17/09/2019 07:47

“where was a similar group of people who supported him to make it fair.”
There wasn’t anything stopping them.......

HerSymphonyAndSong · 17/09/2019 07:48

Bogus Johnson isn’t hiding from remainers shouting at him - he’s avoiding answering questions so that leave voters don’t see through him. He knows remainers aren’t going to come round, and while he hates the lack of adulation, he isn’t bothering to try. But if he actually tries to answer questions he risks leave voters realising that the emperor has no clothes.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 17/09/2019 07:48

Haha bogus = boris, thanks autocorrect

echt · 17/09/2019 07:56

Amazing that there are apologists for a PM bottling it. Boris was utterly reprehensible.

SerendipityJane · 17/09/2019 08:45

The person that did not conduct himself well was Bettel.

Not according to the foreign press my clients read. Even Americans have pointed out that Donald Trump has had the cojones (their word) to face protesters (and then claim there were none).

mummmy2017 · 17/09/2019 08:52

There is no way forward.
There is no way back.
The speech shows the EU27 can see this.
Hence not their fault when it fails....

BertrandRussell · 17/09/2019 08:56

I do think that Johnson was in a difficult position. But he definitely chose the worst of two not very good options. If he had come out and faced the protestors with charm and good humour he would have done wonders for his own and the national image both at home and abroad.

mummmy2017 · 17/09/2019 09:03

And how is that going to go down?
I was voted in to take us out of the EU.
I can't agree to the WA terms.
Let's be friends.

Actually I think it's probably worked just about great for Boris and team. For the people being targeted by the narrative, it speaks to the storyline of the UK being victimized by the EU unfairly and it keeps everyone distracted on what is ultimately a minor story. So strategically, great choice of action.

CendrillonSings · 17/09/2019 11:47

When the UK hosts foreign dignitaries, do we ever allow their press conferences to be barracked by protestors? Of course we don’t, but it seems our courtesy is not reciprocated.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 17/09/2019 12:12

Cendrillon he wasn’t trying to avoid protestors. He was trying to avoid answering press questions so that people like you continue to support him. He’s not going to try to win round remainers - he is trying to avoid people like you seeing through him

BertrandRussell · 17/09/2019 12:33

Many people roundly mocked Trump for avoiding protesters.......

VladmirsPoutine · 17/09/2019 12:37

Of course they do! Remember that stunt he pulled r.e, buying Greenland not too long ago. Transpired Obama was due to be in Denmark too. So a whole state visit cancelled because deep down he knew Obama would be welcomed with open arms but he'd probably be met with protests and potentially another baby Trump blimp.

TheSandman · 17/09/2019 15:44

Have you never seen Prime Ministers Questions? This is "Do or Die" "Dead in a Ditch" "Incredible Hulk" Johnson we're talking about here. Running scared of a couple of dozen middle-aged expats the other side of well guarded railings - what a wuss.

rosie39forever · 17/09/2019 16:39

John Simpson has tweeted that he saw Margret Thatcher land in Zimbabwe in the middle of the night charge down the aircraft steps and hold an impromptu press conference in the middle of a baying crowd even though they threatened to throw acid at her, now as much as I despise her politics that's what a leader does not run away. He would of come out of it much better if he'd fronted it out and bumbled through a few jokes as he usually does.
