Erm anyone had any “work done” to their face?

Curious. I developed some bone loss and have jowls... thinking of having a lower facelift and my crinkly eyelids having something down to them. I’m also a keen runner that has knackered my face.

Please no personal opinions on facelifts just asking if anyone has had any tweaks.

Currently I’m all natural and haggard.

How did you lose bone? Genuine question

TheRealShatParp · 13/09/2019 18:03

No not had any, but would consider it.
Wouldn’t touch my lips or have Botox though.

berlinbabylon · 13/09/2019 18:05

Also a runner, but haven't and wouldn't. It doesn't make you look younger, it makes you look like you've had work done.

Also very expensive - and painful!

WarshipWarrior · 13/09/2019 18:06

One look at kylie jennier should put you off. Shes a billionaire with any doctor in the world at her disposal yet they still messed it up.

user87382294757 · 13/09/2019 18:11

How does running cause problems? (imagines face flapping in the wind?)

MrsMozartMkII · 13/09/2019 18:13

Contemplating upper eyelids.

The rest is as okay as it'll ever be.

Changednamealready · 13/09/2019 18:16

Ha! Well bone loss I think genetic all to do with my jaw and teeth apparently. Not sure of the cause I don’t think there is one. It’s not dramatic.

Ah but you see... I have some friends who everyone thinks are stunning... I and they know... good work , you can’t tell.

Well I like to blame jogging all that up and down motion surely is damaging. Maybe it’s just my dreadful genetics (or excess partying in my youth)

Lip fillers here. Very small amount, love them.

berlinbabylon · 13/09/2019 18:17

Running isn't good for your face. It does make it drop. I look 103 on my running photos! Don't "they" say you have to choose between your bottom and your face beyond a certain age? I think runners are more likely to have the nice bottom...

purplepoop · 13/09/2019 18:19

My friend had botox on her lips and forehead and looked odd. I told her it didn’t suit her and she looked odd.

A decent friend would do that. Im decent.

ThatssomebadhatHarry · 13/09/2019 18:21

Not myself but I’ve known a few and they are all positive. My friends mother had a facelift. Looked a bit obvious at first but has settled and looks great. A work college had a droopy eyelid done, again not obvious just looks great. My sister had a nosejob. Very subtle looks like her own nose but smaller and minis the bump. It took a year to settle propoerly and another year to stop being greasy (apparently that’s a thing).

Another work college had her lips done but it didn’t look great. Too obvious.

I think the main problems come with people being addicted and going under the knife to completely alter the way they look, rather than a subtle change to something that bugs them (such as a droopy lid).

Ponoka7 · 13/09/2019 18:21

I've had, fillers, botox and lips, in the past.

I currently use, radio therapy and microneedling devices.

I'm going to get my undereyes (tear troughs) filled and I'm thinking of some fibroblast.

For jowls you can get a thread lift.

Don't assume that you need a face lift, there's loads of alternatives.

Mrsgogginsthe3rd · 13/09/2019 18:30

My Mum has exactly that about 14 years ago for the same reasons it looked amazing,,she was 50 at the time obvs on her mid 60’s now and she has obviously aged but still looks lots younger and maintains it with baby Botox and has a very small amount of fillers in her lips.

She still has some lines etc. But it’s shaved a good 10 years off her and she just looks fresh and polished. I’m 37 and have two DC - she looks better than me 🤣.

Mrsgogginsthe3rd · 13/09/2019 18:32

Recovery was very quick also. I bumped into her in John Lewis about 10 days after and you wouldn’t have seen the bruising until you mega close. Go for it I say.

Mrsgogginsthe3rd · 13/09/2019 18:35

@Ponoka7 what do you think of microneedling, I have acne scaring that I’m desperate to do something about.

rhos · 13/09/2019 18:38

I have lip fillers (very, very natural looking) and filler in the bump of my nose to straighten it.

I imagine when I'm older I'll consider getting a non surgical lift!

Filler isn't the plastic devil as everyone makes out. Done properly by a skilled Dr ensures you wouldn't even be able to tell it's been done.

Changednamealready · 13/09/2019 18:56

Oooo all very interesting posts. Would love to see results but all the websites look like perfect cases. I don’t even know where to start with these things.

I've had upper eyelid surgery to get rid of my hooded lids. Now get Botox to raise the brows slightly as they are still a tad droopy. Was advised I really should get a brow lift next but that's a bit next level for me!
Also get fillers to help get rid of my jowls.
Don't regret a thing

Ponoka7 · 13/09/2019 22:27

@Mrsgogginsthe3rd, I'd say it's more for brightening ageing skin. It also gives a plumping effect. It isn't for scarring. But some higher grade microneedling pens can be used for some scarring. This has to be done by an anesthetic nurse (who does fillers etc).

I had severe sunburn scarring on my chest and it improved with the use of high grade peels.

Mrsgoggins, what did your mum have?

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 13/09/2019 22:34

I have had a lower facelift

What would you like to know

AnyFucker · 13/09/2019 22:34

I find my arse jiggles more than my face when I run

I don't like the feel of it so I try not to

crazypeppermint · 13/09/2019 22:38

I had maxillofacial surgery which involved my upper and lower jaw being reset, it improved my bite and also my side profile. My surgeon ended up performing minor surgery on my nose because it became hooked when my jaw was set. Before the operation my lower jaw was very pronounced and my teeth didn't meet so it was a huge difference.

The recovery was a pain because the swelling was so huge but I don't regret having it at all, it changed my life because I was so self conscious of my face. I haven't had anything else done since but I wouldn't rule out having something done.

Make sure you go for someone who is a medical professional there's so many places that offer fillers/Botox at much cheaper prices so just be careful where you go.

LaMarschallin · 13/09/2019 22:38

Ah, if only Elaine had got this properly into production.

DontCallMeShitley · 13/09/2019 23:05

So, you haven't had it but you say it is painful. I had no pain at all, some minor discomfort, but I chose my surgeon very carefully, one of the top facial surgeons in Harley St. at the time.

I had upper and lower blepheroplasty first, local anasthetic, a it of discomfort and a fair bit of bruising which was mainly on one side. Was back to normal in no time.

Same surgeon a while later, face lift, no brow lift, had sticky strips on cheekbones and staples in hairline, tiny bruise like a little fingerprint under my chin. After the obligatory resting period I was up cleaning the house and no-one noticed except the tiny bruise which someone thought was dirt from the cleaning. A bit of discomfort, slight swelling. No pain. The worst thing for me was that I always feel sick after the anesthetic wears off, surgery has never bothered me at all.

My surgeon specialised in natural looking work, I didn't want the wind tunnel look so looked the same but firmer. His appointment cards had a photo of Fiona Fullerton on them.
