Erm anyone had any “work done” to their face?

Curious. I developed some bone loss and have jowls... thinking of having a lower facelift and my crinkly eyelids having something down to them. I’m also a keen runner that has knackered my face.

Please no personal opinions on facelifts just asking if anyone has had any tweaks.

Currently I’m all natural and haggard.

I've had a nose job, tear trough & mid face fillers.
All very successful/ huge confidence boosting to me.

That’s interesting about the thread lift, I’ve heard conflicting views. My skin is so fine I’m not sure it would work well for me, hairy but yours sounds fantastic. I don’t suppose you would share consult/pics?

Sigh. I was sort of ignoring the issue and spent evening with my olive skinned sibling and they have tight skin and this lovely non sagging line free skin. Sibling rivalry but a picture of us (only a few years apart) we look so different. I just permanently look tired and yes this is vain but, I used to put on make up and scrub up ok. Now make up can’t hide it.

At the same time I would only want subtle work. I don’t want to look like someone else or a baby! I was wondering if fillers to upper face might hoist the face up a bit...

Around the clock I’m so sorry to hear about your symptoms. X

I say go for the lower face lift.
Or if you're unsure, you could always try some cheek filler (to build volume where most ladies lose volume) this often does a lot of lifting of the jowls, or you can add filler to the jaw to tighten the skin around there.

2-4ml cheek filler with 4-7ml jawfiller combined with a course of microneedling should help to tighten and lift things for you

Lolly rose that’s great how do you know this stuff! Can I ask who you went to? (Can pm if that’s ok). Thanks.

Feeling more positive, conflicted with feelings of guilt but also just I am really fed up with looking feeling tired (also trying to get a bit healthier, get my cholesterol down etc). I don’t want to be gorgeous just feel more awake and less hound dog like. I like hound dogs I just don’t want to look like one.

Ps lolly rose nervous about jaw filler, I have lost bone but I already have quite a wide jaw and lower face which has become more square with age. The idea of putting more filler in the lower parts is terrifying!

Place marking for some thread lift info!

I'm 61 - yikes- with good skin but jowly.

I looked into a thread lift a few years back and told I didn't need it, which was nice I suppose.

I just don't know where to begin...

Pm me a photo (feel free to anonymise it!) and I can give you some advice on what I would recommend.

I'm a (non surgical) aesthetics practitioner

LloydBraun · 21/09/2019 21:53

What is a non- surgical aesthetics practitioner? What’s the professional qualification?

bombomboobah · 21/09/2019 21:54

I'm thinking permanent makeup, laser treatment, Botox and fillers kind of thing?

theWarOnPeace · 21/09/2019 22:24

Following in. I have good skin, apart from my horrendous saggy jowls. I’m finally at a point where I want to actively do something about them.

Mixingitall · 21/09/2019 22:47

Try Botox and or caci facials for skin tightening before investing in the lower face lift.

I have baby Botox in my chin for my jawline, and then my forehead, eyebrow lift (works wonders at opening my eyes up) crows feet, under eyes, side of nose for bunny lines, top lip for the lip flip and my neck. I look very natural and my face moves, I don’t have the frozen look. I also have restalyne filler to prop my bottom lip up, it was turning down, and for my tear troughs, which also covers my nose to mouth lines.

I pay £300 for Botox to all those areas and £450 for the filler. The filler lasts 9-12 months and Botox lasts me 4 months.

At the point jowls appear I would consider a lower face lift.

I have 2 friends who have had eyelid surgery, both look amazing and natural and the recovery was minor. They were done by Dr Gateley in Raynes Park.

Good luck, do whatever makes you feel amazing. I had Botox as my 11 lines made me look cross all the time.
