Erm anyone had any “work done” to their face?

Curious. I developed some bone loss and have jowls... thinking of having a lower facelift and my crinkly eyelids having something down to them. I’m also a keen runner that has knackered my face.

Please no personal opinions on facelifts just asking if anyone has had any tweaks.

Currently I’m all natural and haggard.

Oh and I've never had a tooth pulled out without anaesthetic either, but I am 100% sure it hurts.

m00rfarm · 14/09/2019 14:53

Mine didn’t hurt. But it was uncomfortable for a few days.

Bluewavescrashing · 14/09/2019 14:58

I have thin lips but wouldn't have fillers, don't like the duck face look. I would consider an eye lid lift or tuck or whatever but I'm squeamish about things near my eyes.

FamilyOhNo · 14/09/2019 15:12

I’ve just had HIFU done under two weeks ago. It’s an alternative to going for surgery.

It takes 12 weeks to show the final best results..... but I’m pleased already. It lasts about two years. The procedure was a little uncomfortable on the forehead but bearable elsewhere.

PM if you want details if where I went.

change if you do have any more questions just pm me

I also had a Harley St renowned surgeon last year giving me what he called a “freshen up”. I’m wondering if it was the same surgeon DontCallmeShitley and I was just unlucky. He damaged TWO facial nerves and I’m still suffering 9 months down the line. Not one follow up email to see if I’m ok, I have to do all the chasing. I was warned of “minuscule risks”...

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 14/09/2019 16:02

So sorry to hear that around

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 14/09/2019 16:06

Change following arounds post my surgeon was excellent when i had my issue

Rang the hospital at 5pm when we realised something was wrong, had an appointment with the consultant by 6pm (he had to come in from home)

At this point the nurse thought that dh may have been exaggerating as people are wont to do when they are worried 😀. Turns out he was underplaying the issue 😀

I visited the hospital once every other day for a week and then every three days until they were happy thee wasn’t an issue

I appreciate that i was very lucky to get that sort of aftercare

OP, if you have a friend who’s had a facelift and looks amazing, just ask her where she had it done and who with. Simples.

Rainbunny · 14/09/2019 16:12

m00rfarm - good for you and thankyou for being brave enough to share pics as well. I hope you are feeling good!

Can I ask how much roughly your lower face lift cost? Obviously costs will be different depending on individual cases, location, surgeon etc.. but a roughly approximate number would be very helpful!

Rainbunny · 14/09/2019 16:18

LilyRose88 - would you mind pming me to let me know who your surgeon was?

It's crazy this thread appeared today, I literally just mentioned getting a lower facelift to my DH last night (I've been thinking about it for a few years now) and he asked if I was serious about doing it and I realised that I really am.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 14/09/2019 16:20

rain iknow you didnt ask me but mine was 6.5k

Rainbunny · 14/09/2019 16:23

Rufus - thanks! That's about what I would have estimated.

FionaBrusque · 14/09/2019 16:26

I regularly have Botox - I love it it erased all my frown lines and only my best friend knows. My mum didn't even notice, I just had the "you look well" comments. I started having it in my early 30s though so was more of a prevention thing and probably didn't make a hugely dramatic difference.

@Changednamealready
I’ve had upper eyelids done (bleoharoplasty) pics here

Well, since I've taken up running, (at the age of 48!) people think I look a lot younger than my age ! Pretty sure genetics have more say than running (everyone on one side of my family looks younger than they really are!) and losing several stone!

Running gets a bad rap!

honeylulu · 14/09/2019 16:49

How do people find out where to go, which clinics/practiotoners are any good, and which ones do the "natural look" etc? Especially if you haven't got any word of mouth recommendations ...

Also what if you're not sure what treatments would be best and need advice? I've heard about non surgical facelift , HIFU, surgery on individual areas (eyelids etc.), botox, fillers and more.

I'm 45 and have a good income. I dont want to look "young" as such or different, but would love to look good for my age/"well" etc. (I don't look too bad, but it's all starting to "collapse" a bit!) I'd love to invest in some treatments but not a clue where to start. I'm in Berkshire but work in London so there must be quite a choice in these locations, I just don't know what I want. Any tips welcome.

Nothing helpful to add but I'm here, reading, not judging anybody who's had work done/.
We're not living in a world where a 55 year old woman is HEARD. I am 49 and aware that my jowls are the first to go. I'm intrigued by any procedure that lifts the jowls. I wouldn't expect to look 35 afterwards, I would just like to think that I still looked good despite being older.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 14/09/2019 17:05

I dont look young, im still wrinkly and look my age

Its just my neck looks better 😀

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 14/09/2019 17:07

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 14/09/2019 17:13
