New family just moved in to a rented house technically down the side of our house. They have 4 cars, one parking space. The street has space for 5 cars in total, so they deem this a suitable place to park - right across our drive.

Having asked them to move it, I got told they have nowhere to park and he doesn’t want his daughter walking too far to get to her car. Aibu to think we shouldn’t be inconvenienced because these people didn’t think ahead when deciding to rent this house, and what the hell can you do in these circumstances?

In this one, the area in red shows the property boundary and its corresponding parking space. The blacked out area surrounded by yellow denotes a shared access area, it contains parking for 4 cars. Sometimes there’ll be blue, denoting any rights of way.

Can't believe the next cheeky fucker has parked there. You'll have to go and ask them to move.
You need to go and ask anyone who parks there to move EVERY SINGLE TIME until they get thoroughly fed up with it.

Bookworm4 · 14/09/2019 15:52

I’d be placing large planters on the decorative nothingness ( accidentally overlapping the corner) You seem to be surrounded by mindless cheeky fucks.

WarshipWarrior · 14/09/2019 15:53

Cant believe looking at your photo that anyone would park like that! It's so anti social and rude.

lonelyonee · 14/09/2019 16:41

Wow the photo seals the deal. That is very cheeky fuckery! I'm gobsmacked that they're doing this I would go ballistic! There would be door knocking and notes everything! It's great everyone's discussing what you can do long term but you need to do something RIGHT NOW. This has to stop!
& best of luck x

WarshipWarrior · 14/09/2019 16:46

I agree. I'd go and park on the neighbours empty drive.

Tistheseason17 · 14/09/2019 16:55

I'd block your own drive every day yo stop this happening. And if they parked in your drive I would answer the door or move my car.

Windydaysuponus · 14/09/2019 17:10

Load the pics with reg on parklikeatwat

visitorthedog · 14/09/2019 18:17

Could you park with your car hanging off your drive enough that they can’t block you in?

RebootYourEngine · 14/09/2019 18:40

I would be knocking on this neighbours door as well and asking them to move.

RandomMess · 14/09/2019 19:15

Ask the other neighbours to move!!

Get the pic on here, this group doesn’t mind a ref plate 😉

Millie2016 · 14/09/2019 20:28

@RebootYourEngine so would I.
You ‘let’ one person do it and it becomes fair game.
They are both CF’s and I’d knock every time anyone did it.

WarshipWarrior · 17/09/2019 13:34

OP what happened in the end?

Burtiebojangles · 17/09/2019 13:40

Guess who’s back? It seems PC CID gets around the fact he’s parking on a corner with completely hanging out into the road. There’s no other cars on the street either, they’re obviously doing it to wind us up. We’ve sent photos to the council and I’m wondering if I can pluck up the courage to call 101. Our son has an operation next week with lots of follow ups, inconsiderate arseholes like this really aren’t helping our stress levels.

And here they are blocking another neighbours drive.

Spaghettio · 17/09/2019 13:47

I'd be calling 101. Whether he's a policeman or not, he's blatantly being a twat. And needs telling by someone with some authority. This is anti-social behaviour!

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 17/09/2019 14:00

Agree call 101 and report them. Inconsiderate neighbours are horrible! Good luck for your son's treatment.

WarshipWarrior · 17/09/2019 16:02

Wtf of course call 101 and explain they're doing it regularly and you're worried you'll be missing hospital appointments for your son because of their behaviour. Most importantly explain you've been told he is CID so want to report a police officer behaving inappropriately and you want a response from his superiors. Dont be lenient he is being a twat.

WarshipWarrior · 17/09/2019 16:03

Is that a sign on your neighbours fence saying please do not block drive??? What the fuck - your neighbour is a prize twat.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 17/09/2019 16:06

Superknob strikes again!

Definitely Call 101 op. He’s an inconsiderate twat.

Witchinaditch · 17/09/2019 16:12

Police don’t get to park illegally- can the council issue them a parking fine or is it a a private development? If it’s a private development log it with 101 and say the officers name is parking illegally and his wife threatened you

Mummyto2munchkins · 17/09/2019 16:39

Pluck up the courage OP, theres plenty of spaces so why park like a grade a penis?

Tistheseason17 · 17/09/2019 17:11

If he's renting, then technically you have not fallen out with the homeowner... I'd report.

BlankTimes · 17/09/2019 19:15

@MouseInATelescope

To stop people parking on your drive and so your children can play on it safely, get one or two of these collapsible bollards.

Then if you want to let your visitors or trades park on it, it only take a minute with a key to allow that.

This is the sort of thing you need.
