I have a bath once or more a week, depending on double dipping with my partner. It's really ok, no one will notice the difference, apart from the environment..

@MyLeftArm 😂😂😂😂 ffs

DurhamDurham · 01/09/2019 22:46

bath once a week was very standard especially for children until the 90s. With the environment and water as it is we might end up back there

Rubbish, I was born in 1970 and we had baths at least four times a week, the Sunday night one apparently was the most important one to make sure we were extra clean for school on Monday Smile
I'm sure all my fiends had baths a lot more frequently than once a week too.

TickleMyFanny

Says she with a rude username Grin

Come on... do you think anyone would want to tickle your fanny if you smelt like a fish market?

Some people must just get used to stinking. Imagine not having a wash during your period for example. No excuse at all and I feel sick at the thought. Do the dirty fleas even change their underwear?

I was born in 1978 and I had a bath every single night. As do my children ( a shower mainly ) and barring illness we are a very clean family. I would not sleep with anyone if they weren't fresh, its called self respect.

epari · 01/09/2019 22:48

Disgusting.

JaneJeffer · 01/09/2019 22:50

I think I used to work with you.

Milsplus3 · 01/09/2019 22:50

This thread has me laughing so much I’m expecting to go into labour any minute. I worked with someone who didn’t believe in washing (strong vegan ethos which included water only being for drinking) she would spray deodorant constantly but it wasn’t strong enough the BO had me heaving, don’t be selfish wash your fanny and armpits daily please

Wallywobbles · 01/09/2019 22:51

Child ten of 60&70s here. Daily bathing was the norm absolutely everywhere IME. I'd never met people who didn't until 90s kids told me about it when I was their teacher.

CustardySergeant · 01/09/2019 22:54

This is what comes to mind OP

Disgusting

Likethebattle · 01/09/2019 22:56

I was born in 1979 and had a bath at a minimum three times a week as a child with hair washing. If I was noticeably dirty I was put into a bath (my mum once tried to scrub the dirt off me and realised I had a tan as a young child). A daily sink wash was non negotiable and I was washed at the sink every morning. As I hit my teens I had a shower every night and a sink wash in the morning. Now I shower every morning as it’s less faff that washing at the sink.

A bath once a week was very standard especially for children until the 90s.

As PPs have said this is not true. I was brought up in a terraced house in sarf-east London in the 1950-60s and we bathed daily. Hair washing was less frequent than now, but not bathing.

healththrowawayx · 01/09/2019 23:01

I shower twice a day and my skin isn’t dry at all. Yes I moisturise my body, but my skin is completely normal if I skip the moisturiser. My skin hasn’t been ‘stripped’ at all. You can buy hydrating products for the shower you know, it doesn’t have to be some drying/cheap bar of soap?

Palaver1 · 01/09/2019 23:01

That’s not right all the mess from your ass can’t be cleaned thoroughly with just loo roll.
And your front won’t be clean either.
The thought of double dipping is awful.
Why share your habits though.

novasglowx · 01/09/2019 23:04

Alright there Shrek, back into the swamp with you. If you're lucky, Donkey might make some waffles in the morning.

Redglitter · 01/09/2019 23:05

Just try it, you won't smell and no one will know

Yes you will & they will

Dont you feel filthy though if I skip a shower I feel really horrible. Once a week?? 🤮

MouthyHarpy · 01/09/2019 23:05

You may not think you smell bad, but you do.

ISayWhatNow · 01/09/2019 23:06

Even the phrase "double dipping" makes me shudder.

Pp are right - deliberately not washing enough is foul. Regardless of smell, your body will be properly dirty.

Please tell me that you wash your hands in a normal fashion?

CustardySergeant · 01/09/2019 23:07

It's nice to feel clean and fresh surely. I don't know why anybody would deliberately not wash everyday.

Redshoesandtheblues · 01/09/2019 23:08

Reminds me - my dog needs a bath. He is minging!

Nothing to add. Just thanks for reminder.

GreigLaidlawsbarofsoap · 01/09/2019 23:11

Try it, you might be surprised and save money too.

Surprised how quickly I lose friends? Surprised when random parcels of soap start getting delivered from anonymous well wishers?
Surprised when shop assistants make gagging noises as I leave?
Surprised when taxi drivers close their little talkie window?
Surprised when I finally pass out from the stench of my own unwashed vag and arse?

No thanks.

My children were born in the 80s they had a bath every day , as did everyone we knew
I was born in 1960 ,we would only have a bath once a week, but strip washed everyday

“That’s not right all the mess from your ass can’t be cleaned thoroughly with just loo roll.
And your front won’t be clean either.”

You need to look at your diet. If a wipe with toilet roll doesn’t remove any lingering poo you’re either doing it wrong or you should eat more fibre. Really, it’s not difficult. My dogs shit twice a day without wiping and their bums are completely clean.

ClemDanFango · 01/09/2019 23:16

Hmmm you sound like a weirdo who wants to read people’s stinky fucker stories for your wank bank 🤮
