To wonder what is more terrifying to the public of Mumsnet, Corbyn or Brexit Fallout?

So either way we look we seem to have poor prospects.

Potential fears from either side...
Brexit = potential food shortages, medicine shortages, increase of house burglaries, riots, looting, at least half the jobs gone, pound becoming worthless, NHS collapse, economy going down etc.

Corbyn = land value tax, communist, everyone losing their property, house prices crashing, economy going down, etc

I'm not saying I believe either of these things exactly, although I think we will be facing an economy worse than the fall of 2008 after Brexit. I'm more curious as to what people here think.

So to the haters who will say "Another Brexit thread blah blah blah". No one made you click! Stop trying to silence the critics.

Anyways for voting purposes, what is more worrisome to you?

YANBU = the fallout from a BJ led No Deal Brexit
YABU = Jeremy Corbyn in charge

Ebac?

Do you know, i typed that with two c’s and then i thought nah!

That baccalaureate thingy

Alsohuman · 02/09/2019 20:09

That poster wasn’t bullied. Nobody called them names. Their very first post referenced “dummy throwing remoaners”. Anyway most of the posts are still here, should anyone want to look for themselves.

MaximusHeadroom · 02/09/2019 20:09

The comments in my post were purely based on the content in the relevant post of User. I didn't make any personal comments about them I didn't question their intelligence. My tone was guided by the tone of multiple posts made previously in this thread by that user.

I do find it disgusting that people feel it's ok to attribute motivation to dead soldiers to support their own ideology in the same way a far right group did in European elections by using Lee Rigby's name.

But it is of course far worse to argue than to threaten to punch someone.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 02/09/2019 20:17

Oooh is that the post everyone is on about

The one where maximus got irritated by user using the wars...

I could not figure out what heinous thing had been said

I mean its not heinous but i thought it must have been heinous

BertrandRussell · 02/09/2019 20:18

“Do you know, i typed that with two c’s and then i thought nah“

I’m sorry- I thought that’s what you meant but I couldn’t fit it into the context of the thread so I thought it must be something I had never heard of!

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 02/09/2019 20:21

It made sense in my head Grin

The ebacc relied on having a language and there wasnt much of a take up for language in the school, only 2 out of my 3 children did a language

Supernova69 · 02/09/2019 20:21

''But it is of course far worse to argue than to threaten to punch someone.''

They did not threaten to punch you, I think they said 'could', as in there could be a no deal Brexit NOT there will be a no deal Brexit. There is a big difference. Alsohuman also falsely accused them of threatening to punch others lights out. But how could that even be contrived as a threat? They aren't in a position to act it out on you?? I read it as they were saying they were not happy with what you said about them.

I also think you took the war/soldier thing out of context and read more into it/more out of it. 've seen your post (yes it was quite a rant IMO) and it is very targeted, you made a lot of assumptions and accusations, and I would be offended if it had been aimed at me.

Things were very one-sided to me. I'm just playing devils advocate. As I said enough said let MN decide...

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 02/09/2019 20:23

As I said enough said let MN decide...

As they have, think a ban was a bit harsh though

But not my decision to make obvs

Alsohuman · 02/09/2019 20:23

It wasn’t a false accusation but unfortunately the proof has now gone.

BertrandRussell · 02/09/2019 20:24

“is very targeted, you made a lot of assumptions and accusations”

And the User poster didn’t? Grin

Blibbyblobby · 02/09/2019 20:26

Simple question, if you love the EU so much why don't you move over there to be in it?

I already fucking live in the EU. I was fine with it.I didn't vote to change it.

If you hate the EU so much, why didn't you move over to a country outside the EU instead of dragging the entire UK into a future that seems to get worse by the week?

Supernova69 · 02/09/2019 20:27

''It wasn’t a false accusation but unfortunately the proof has now gone.''

Yes very convenient that!

Alsohuman · 02/09/2019 20:28

It isn’t convenient, I wish it was still there.

BertrandRussell · 02/09/2019 20:32

I wish it was still there too. I think it was a bizarre deletion/ban.

Pannalash · 02/09/2019 20:33

Corbyn without a doubt.

Supernova69 · 02/09/2019 20:36

''I wish it was still there too. I think it was a bizarre deletion/ban.''

yes I do too because if we go down the route of censoring/banning those who's views are different it kind of defeats the purpose of a forum.

Supernova69 · 02/09/2019 20:39

I think we need to be more tolerant too and stop being too precious. That wasn't a threat and was blown out of all proportion. I used to remember when I was kid saying 'sticks and stones...'. I'm sure we have all seen real fighting talk and that wasn't it.

Autumnintheair · 02/09/2019 20:40

I'm surprised any leaver comes out anymore on mumsnet.

They have been attacked and goaded, called thick lazy racist etc.

Maximus I also find your vitriolic post re the wars offensive as well. Older members of my family voted leave because they lost people in the war fighting for freedom, they lived through the wall and communism. Like gisela Stuart and Andrea ledsome... They realised the eu is to vast and clunky, too many interests being represented and we don't need to be so closely politically aligned with it.

Please don't think You speak for everyone who lost someone in the war. Thanks!

Autumnintheair · 02/09/2019 20:42

To be fair supa mods have pretty much left leavers to be constantly goaded. Mumsnetters like packs of famished piranhas swoop on any leaver and pummel them with endless questions Grin

Supernova69 · 02/09/2019 20:42

''Their very first post referenced “dummy throwing remoaners” ''

Come on so what? I've heard worse said. That is their opinion, they weren't being personal. I've heard Remanier's call Pro-Brexit some awful things. I think some need to grow up.

BertrandRussell · 02/09/2019 20:47

“piranhas swoop on any leaver and pummel them with endless questions”
There’s an incredibly simple answer to that one- answer some of them!

Alsohuman · 02/09/2019 20:49

Absolutely. And don’t call us names. For some reason it tends to put people’s backs up.

Supernova69 · 02/09/2019 20:49

To me there is a cleek of people on here with a common agenda that DO bully/gang up on others who don't agree with their political views. It is very evident. I am not the only one who is seeing this. MN needs to sort it out rather than ignore it.

BertrandRussell · 02/09/2019 20:51

Are you sure it’s hanging up and not just more than one person having the same opinion?

BertrandRussell · 02/09/2019 20:52

*ganging up
