For the person who gave a list of reasons why Scotland is shite, I would like to ask:
Schools with no contingency plans when they get set on fire so pupils lose out on education - I could find only two examples of fires in Scottish schools when I researched this claim, in any case they don’t state that the period where education was not provided was long. And if a tragic event like a fire happens then another school would provide education for these students, I know that similar happened to me when my school had closed to have work done to it. Scotland has a very ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ approach, so I don’t see your point.
Schools with no heating - Examples? I went to five schools in Scotland and all had heating.
Schools with leaks in the roof- Are all of your issues with Scotland about petty maintenance work? Leaks can be fixed.
Lack of teachers- In what school? Where?
Lack of funding for schools- An independent Scotland would have much more control over finance and spending than Scotland does today, as aforementioned. Plus when you compare Scotland to England, England also has very high levels of lack of funding in schools, this is a nationwide issue.
Hospitals with over worked staff so they make mistakes - Everyone makes mistakes? Where and when and what are you talking about?
Roads that are unfit for use - the only road where this is a case is the A9, and there are still developments being made to it. They’re preparing for the rise of electric cars, which is still currently not a massive issue, so if this does take some time, it isn’t going to hurt anyone?
Plans to spend millions on 'fixes' to roads that actually don't need it - Again you’re talking about the A9, but England spends millions on a nuclear weapon that they have never used. Everyone has their unnecessary costs.
Millions no doubt spent on adding gaelic to road signs, when hardly anyone reads it - These issues you present are all so trivial and stupid, the protection of culture is very important and I would have thought any Scot would encourage that, the fact you say ‘millions no doubt’ shows you don’t really know.
Over spending on the trams in edinburgh - finally something I agree with you on! They’re overpriced, don’t go anywhere and don’t add anything to Edinburgh. But everyone makes mistakes. England single handedly voted to jeopardise their own economy for example.
No doubt over spending and taking too long in dualling the a9 - already addresses this
Cutting services in councils - local government as a whole needs improvement I agree, not just a scottish issue.
More people being made homeless - homeless in the UK is a massive issue yes
More crime - overall crime rates have fallen by 16% since 2017 according to police Scotland
