She's speaking so much sense at the moment about brexit. I think she'd do a good job at running the country and is saying the truth about what boris Johnson! Would be good to get prescription fees and tution fees scrapped in England also!

OP posts:
SilverySurfer · 29/08/2019 00:58

It's a no to wee Krankie from me but thanks for the laugh.

Toodlesdeary · 29/08/2019 00:59

Can’t stand her and yes we should pay something towards prescriptions. Put the money from that directly into NHS. God just £2 a prescription would raise a hell of a lot! Where is all the money supposed to come from to give us everything for free? Also don’t start me on the baby boxes...

Moveoverplease · 29/08/2019 01:01

You can fuck right off with that idea. She's an awful, obnoxious woman and wouldn't even get on my list of people I'd rather have.

aprilanne · 29/08/2019 01:01

Oh and yes the cruncher .My autistic son had to taken from a main stream school and home educated because they shut all our special education schools down .The lovely snp council that run our district .she can go foreign jollies they can save prestwick airport where no one wants to fly from ferguson ship yard but they don't know how much it will cost probably put up tax again but hey we Scots have got a life of Reilly

BohemianDream · 29/08/2019 01:05

People who can afford to pay for prescriptions should do so.
Not all can afford it.
Baby boxes were a fantastic idea in my opinion.

aprilanne · 29/08/2019 01:09

Baby boxes are a good idea like free prescriptions if you need them but not free to all and sundry it's an awfull waste of money

Blueoasis · 29/08/2019 01:11

BohemianDream

People who can afford to pay for prescriptions should do so.
Not all can afford it.

And yet you were laughing earlier about people saying they had to pay when they can't afford it. Real charmer you are. Hmm

Missangrypants · 29/08/2019 01:12

Certainly not.

Just because Scotland with a population of 5.3m (2011 census) had a majority for remain does not trump England's (with a population of 53m) majority vote to leave the EU.

I still cannot understand hers or the rest of the SNP's thinking on that one.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 29/08/2019 01:15

I'm Scottish and this is literally my worst nightmare

BohemianDream · 29/08/2019 01:19

@Blueoasis
I'm amazed at how you turned that around.
At no point in the post that I reffered to did the person state that they couldn't afford to buy the prescription privately. Perhaps you didn't read it all?

Blueoasis · 29/08/2019 01:28

@BohemianDream

Why on earth are people slating free prescriptions? 'We have to pay privately to get the good stuff for hubby' Jesus Christ I can't believe I just read that, though it gave me a good laugh.

What part of that did I misunderstand? Looks like you're laughing at someone who had to pay to buy the right medication when it should have been free. Or are you sturgeon and meant something else?

Blueoasis · 29/08/2019 01:33

@BohemianDream and you're the idiot who assumed the poster could afford it. They have since stated that they can't but to stop their husband being in agony, they have to. But hey, long as it gave you a laugh right? Hope if we go independent that you lose your job and house. Will give me a laugh. Haha so funny. Hmm

BohemianDream · 29/08/2019 01:42

@Blueoasis
You didn't read the post that I was referring to. Hmm At no point did the person say that they couldn't afford the prescription privately. They went and got a private prescription, yes?
Seens to me that your trying to gain some kind of moral high ground after your nasty comments earlier.
Now as we have now taken over this thread and are probably starting to piss everyone off I will say goodnight to you.

BohemianDream · 29/08/2019 01:43

Words fail me.

Chickenish · 29/08/2019 01:43

YABVVU. Sturgeon is working harder than the English to give away women’s rights.

@blueoasis
You sound like a 7, maybe 8 year old.
Not once did I say that I could see the future.
Didn't even say I was a fan of Nicola Wink

Butchyrestingface · 29/08/2019 02:22

OP not your fault but that is going to become a depressing Scotland bashing thread

@MaxNormal You’re giving the OP, who couldn’t be arsed to return to her own thread, way too much credit.

JenniR29 · 29/08/2019 02:47

Her or Caroline Lucas would be great. I feel they are the only ones talking sense right now.

Curiositykilledthecat113 · 29/08/2019 02:56

I’m so sick of finding statistics which prove that the opinions on Scotland are incredibly wrong, in the case of Education Scotland has the highest proportion of students going to university in Europe. In terms of sustainability 80% of scotland is powered by renewable energy like wind. As for prescriptions in Scotland they are free whereas in England you pay 8£. Since Scotland is in the UK it only has devolution over certain areas of policy, for many areas it has to follow the lead of England (to put it lightly. The standard of the NHS as a whole in the UK is poor. The standard of transport (an area devolved to scotland) is much cheaper whilst still being effective. In terms of social rights scotland has been said to be the most LGBT friendly country, with several gay people as MPs etc. As someone who has studied in both countries I would definitely say that Scotland has the better curriculum, the freedom to leave School at 16 allows students to choose their own path and in most cases I have seen, means they think a lot more carefully about what they actually want to do. In terms of ‘money from England’ this is technically correct, Scotland is required to send all of its income to England through which it gets back a certain amount. So yes Scotland is paid by England, but they are paid with their own money (and only get to control a certain amount of it I believe it’s about 50%), the SNP however would like to control all of Scotland’s income and would in exchange pay England their fare share of the union expenses. But England does not care about equality. I could go on for paragraphs, about why Scotland is sustainable and has the potential to be great, but I’m sick of having to justify that to people who realistically have probably never been to Scotland. It’s fair to say that Nicola Sturgeon is not a good leader, although after the aftermath of the brexit vote I seem to remember that she was the only politician who stepped out of the silence and made comments on the matter, however to the people who are bashing Scotland as a whole for basically relying on England and being inefficient, I won’t ignore that.

Curiositykilledthecat113 · 29/08/2019 03:10

For the person who gave a list of reasons why Scotland is shite, I would like to ask:

Schools with no contingency plans when they get set on fire so pupils lose out on education - I could find only two examples of fires in Scottish schools when I researched this claim, in any case they don’t state that the period where education was not provided was long. And if a tragic event like a fire happens then another school would provide education for these students, I know that similar happened to me when my school had closed to have work done to it. Scotland has a very ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ approach, so I don’t see your point.

Schools with no heating - Examples? I went to five schools in Scotland and all had heating.

Schools with leaks in the roof- Are all of your issues with Scotland about petty maintenance work? Leaks can be fixed.

Lack of teachers- In what school? Where?

Lack of funding for schools- An independent Scotland would have much more control over finance and spending than Scotland does today, as aforementioned. Plus when you compare Scotland to England, England also has very high levels of lack of funding in schools, this is a nationwide issue.

Hospitals with over worked staff so they make mistakes - Everyone makes mistakes? Where and when and what are you talking about?

Roads that are unfit for use - the only road where this is a case is the A9, and there are still developments being made to it. They’re preparing for the rise of electric cars, which is still currently not a massive issue, so if this does take some time, it isn’t going to hurt anyone?

Plans to spend millions on 'fixes' to roads that actually don't need it - Again you’re talking about the A9, but England spends millions on a nuclear weapon that they have never used. Everyone has their unnecessary costs.

Millions no doubt spent on adding gaelic to road signs, when hardly anyone reads it - These issues you present are all so trivial and stupid, the protection of culture is very important and I would have thought any Scot would encourage that, the fact you say ‘millions no doubt’ shows you don’t really know.

Over spending on the trams in edinburgh - finally something I agree with you on! They’re overpriced, don’t go anywhere and don’t add anything to Edinburgh. But everyone makes mistakes. England single handedly voted to jeopardise their own economy for example.

No doubt over spending and taking too long in dualling the a9 - already addresses this

Cutting services in councils - local government as a whole needs improvement I agree, not just a scottish issue.

More people being made homeless - homeless in the UK is a massive issue yes

More crime - overall crime rates have fallen by 16% since 2017 according to police Scotland

Sadie789 · 29/08/2019 03:58

Sturgeon is a self serving waste of space. Obsessed with independence to the detriment of doing her actual job. Scotland is in a dire state from roads and infrastructure to health provision, child poverty and adult destitution. Can’t think of anyone worse to run the entire uk (actually I can, JC)...

This is a woman taking millions of £ from China to take thousands of students, including providing brand new state of the art accommodation for them all, while the natural residents of her own constituency live in abject poverty with unfit housing, few prospects, little support for addiction or mental health, and local amenities closed off and derelict.

What a heinous idea, OP.

Singlenotsingle · 29/08/2019 04:12

Get outta here!

PhilCornwall1 · 29/08/2019 05:52

We've got a muppet as a PM at the moment, the last thing we need is Billy Krankie!!

tigger1001 · 29/08/2019 06:11

I am Scottish and think she is doing an awful job. Education is failing. We might get free prescriptions and uni places, but it comes at a cost.
