How often do you wash your towels?

I wash mine after two goes and I regularly bleach... husband thinks I'm mental? AIBU??

Holla at the fellow flannel users!

I wash my towels 'occasionally'. So, when they seem a bit gross. I usually have about 3 on the go, though. I am clearly a disgusting cow. I do bedding once a week though...

Benjispruce · 30/08/2019 20:14

barearse I’ve just spat my rose wine out! Grin

OooErMissus · 30/08/2019 20:27

Really?

Everyone's been running variations on the same joke for a while now.

Tweetingmagpie · 30/08/2019 20:30

I wash towels after every use, not because I think are terribly dirty but because I can’t stand damp towels hanging around and there’s 9 of us in this house!

So in this house towels are either clean dry and neatly folded where they should be or in the wash.

For whites I use a Vanish white oxy action powder and put half a scoop of that in with bio washing liquid and 40-50 deg wash. I normally use non bio liquid and 30 deg but hate grey whites

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 30/08/2019 20:33

I’ve just spat my rose wine out!

You’ll be needing a (clean) towel then. Wink

2Rebecca · 30/08/2019 20:34

My main use for flannels is for drying my bits after using the bidet. The bidet always has a dry flannel by it. Love my bidet. The damp flannel then gets hung on the towel rack and gets put in the washing basket when it develops eau de genitals

greentheme23 · 30/08/2019 20:37

It's no wonder some people say they can't work. There's no way I could do the job I do and wash towels like that! Ridiculous! Get out more. Life's for living!

VerbenaGirl · 30/08/2019 20:38

Weekly change and hot wash, more if they don’t smell fresh. No bleach! We’re clean when we come out of the shower and hang them to dry afterwards.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 30/08/2019 20:42

It's no wonder some people say they can't work.

😂 how long does it take you to switch the washing machine on and hang a load? 10 minutes max. No obstacle to full time work.

greentheme23 · 30/08/2019 20:49

@JoxerGoesToStuttgart but why would I choose to wash a towel after 2 uses that's balmy. Even if it takes 2 minutes it's 2 wasted minutes and I'd rather be reading or walking the dog or shagging. Basically anything other than washing a towel that doesn't need to be washed!

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 30/08/2019 21:02

No idea, who said you should? Confused you were talking about people but having enough time to work, not whether you should wash a towel.

Even if it takes 2 minutes it's 2 wasted minutes and I'd rather be reading or walking the dog or shagging.

Yes the sacrifice of having clean towels is no sex and a fat dog. Tough but that’s how it is.

Or alternatively, you can do all those things. Because there aren’t just two minutes in the day (and frankly if the sex is only two minutes long- is rather have the clean towels Wink)

BlueJava · 30/08/2019 21:05

We each have our own towels, I was them once a week. I can't imagine washing 8 bath sheets (2 each) more than once a week tbh! The hand towel gets washed more often then say 2-3 times a week.

ultrablue · 30/08/2019 21:16

We all have different coloured towel each, so once a week for bath towels ( or whenever they reappear from the DS's room, change hand towels every couple of days and each day for my tea towels which I never dry up with anyway.. 60° wash, detergent, capful of Tesco blue disinfectant and fabric conditioner once a week

HairyDogsOfThigh · 30/08/2019 21:20

My pubes are so long and matted, i can use them instead of a towel, so i never have to wash my towels, they are as new and white and fluffy as the day i bought them.

MadameForest · 30/08/2019 21:21

I wash mine as soon as they become soft. I line dry my towels so they ate stiff as boards but absorbant. As soon as they get soft after around 5 days in the wash they go

Tweetingmagpie · 30/08/2019 21:46

@2Rebecca that’s disgusting you dirty cow Confused

SequinnedSlippers · 30/08/2019 21:49

I don’t use showers, baths or towels. Every morning I rise before dawn go into the garden and roll around in the dew as God intended.

Anything else is simply profligate.

YoTheGinPussyOfStMawesOnThigh · 30/08/2019 21:56

I just have one thing to say. Bath mats. As you were, good night.

ThighThighOfthigh · 31/08/2019 00:15

Bath mats! Yes indeed now that's something that really does not changed daily.

But what of the toilet seat cosy?

AlunWynsKnee · 31/08/2019 00:24

Thigh I have a new cosy each time anyone uses the loo. It's just discustimg otherwise. Amazon deliver so really there's no excuse for poocrumbs in the fluff.

ineedaholidaynow · 31/08/2019 00:29

Tweeting how many washes do you do a week? Assume you must use a tumble dryer as well if you don't like damp towels hanging around. I dread to think of your bills.

Also those saying that washing doesn't take long. The actual act of putting in and taking out the machine might not take that long, but I assume if you want a good clean then the actual wash will take some time. And I don't think it is advisable to leave your washing machine running whilst you are out of the house or in bed, as there is a danger they can catch fire.

barearsedloverofthigh · 31/08/2019 00:46

I have my bathroom demolished and rebuilt after every use. My DP says this is a bit excessive but I say if he wasn’t such a dirty cunt I wouldn’t have to.
