How often do you wash your towels?

I wash mine after two goes and I regularly bleach... husband thinks I'm mental? AIBU??

If only people utilised the humble flannel more they wouldn't need to wash their towels.

How can a person possibly be hygienic if they don't use flannels. The mind boggles at how filthy people are. No wonder we're the scourge of Europe. Filth!

barearsedloverofthigh · 29/08/2019 18:50

I'm so filthy, my DP recently mistook me for his dirty flannel and chucked me in the machine with the rest of the dirty laundry. Thankfully he's environmentally aware and only put it on a 30° cycle. Unfortunately, he also uses the environmentally friendly washing powder so I came out looking a dismal grey colour.

YoTheGinPussyOfStMawesOnThigh · 29/08/2019 19:03

Indeed Thigh what a lovely user name you have. How have I not come across your wisdom before on MN. Flannels rule. Flannels, Flannels, Flannels.

Barearsed I see you too have a wonderous user name. Life’s a bugger when our DP’s are so foolish isn’t it.

BlueCornsihPixie · 29/08/2019 19:04

I actually wash mine halfway through use

Jump out the shower, little dry. In the washing machine, bottle of thick bleach per towel. Tumble drier.

Then finish drying myself, only takes about 4hrs a day, anything less is slovenly tbh.

HairyDogsOfThigh · 29/08/2019 19:05

A flannel saved my life once, but it's too outing to tell the tale on here.

ThighThighOfthigh · 29/08/2019 19:30

Oh dog was it while you were playing an outing sport (lacrosse).

WombleishOfThigh · 29/08/2019 19:32

Pixie, I ❤️ you, please come and live with us.

DanglyTasselsOfThigh · 29/08/2019 19:45

Dog was it the time when the frog got free and ...

Deadringer · 29/08/2019 19:56

But why the need for flannels? I wash with soap using my hands, does everyone else use flannels? Genuine question.

HairyDogsOfThigh · 29/08/2019 19:56

Thigh, Dangly, you seem to know a lot of the details, were you there? Or has it happened to you too? I always carry a flannel now, just in case.

DanglyTasselsOfThigh · 29/08/2019 20:05

Dog yes it's just that I use a flannel to plug the gap!

And then thoroughly clean it until it's dead of course!

YoTheGinPussyOfStMawesOnThigh · 29/08/2019 20:18

Deadringer flannels must be used. They are a dying breed. If we don’t use them they will go extinct.

(Very outing I know to use my real name but I feel very strongly about this)

ThighThighOfthigh · 29/08/2019 20:22

Oh dear dead(appropriate) you wash with soap and your hands? Discustard.

RedPanda2 · 29/08/2019 20:23

I wash them when they smell a bit 'old towelly' because I have a life and would rather be doing other things than putting washing out to dry

RedPanda2 · 29/08/2019 20:24

Pixie we recognise a kindred! We are not so hard to find, please join us!

barearsedloverofthigh · 29/08/2019 23:50

Pixie if you're worried about not having the time to come and stay with us, what with your admirable four hour a day cleansing routine, let me reassure you that we have much lower standards where we're from. A quick dip in the moat to wash off the blood splatters with a flannel cut from an old pissy slanket and a run around the grounds with a squirrel's tail stuck up our arse to dry off and we're ready for the day.

Br1256 · 30/08/2019 01:20

Can I just ask about bleaching...gradually my white sheets and towels don't look so white ...what do people use...ordinary bleach or something special do u just put it in with the washing powder...how much do u use

Thanks for any advice Jane

astralplaning · 30/08/2019 05:13

I use a shower puff for a good scrubbing and it really helps lather up my soap

maddiemookins16mum · 30/08/2019 06:06

Clean bath/hand towels every 3-4 days here. So I’ll change then tomorrow, they’ll do until after showers on Tuesday morning. It’s not a hard and fast rule and sometimes they’ll go 2-3 days.

These types of posts are really making me laugh. Thanks! Grin

80sMum · 30/08/2019 07:33

Do some people really wash a clean towel after first use? Even posh hotels won't do that unless specifically requested! It's totally unnecessary and a waste of water, detergent, electricity and wear and tear on the washing machine (and tumble dryer, if used).

ElizaDee · 30/08/2019 12:34

You know those aren't environmentally friendly. Get a loofah or soap bag instead!

YoTheGinPussyOfStMawesOnThigh · 30/08/2019 17:43

I shaved off my pubes and tied them together in a bunch. They make a brilliant shower puff.

barearsedloverofthigh · 30/08/2019 18:55

My pubes are so wild and abundant DP mistook me for his shower puff the other day and i found myself being rubbed vigorously up and down his filthy arse crack.
