I wash my towels about as often as there are threads about it on mumsnet Grin

AsTheWorldTurns · 27/08/2019 05:51

After about a week.

1066vegan · 27/08/2019 06:12

Once a week.

You only use them after you've washed/bsthed/showered so they're used to dry something clean. If they're hung up to air after use then they won't smell damp.

Genuinely shocked by people who wash them after a single use. Ridiculous waste of money and electricity.

user1480880826 · 27/08/2019 06:23

Have you heard of global warming and the environmental catastrophe that we’re facing?

What a massive waste of water and energy.

Stop being such a dick.

7-10 days is fine.

MeredithGrey1 · 27/08/2019 06:32

Every week and a half/two weeks

But in summer I hang them out in the garden every day so they dry properly, get aired and never smell damp.

AsTheWorldTurns · 27/08/2019 06:37

I definitely get more mileage out of my towels in the summer.

adaline · 27/08/2019 06:43

Once a week.

I do love a good washing thread though!

dottiedodah · 27/08/2019 06:45

About once a week here .Quite apart from the obvious harm to our planet ,Washing powder/electric arent cheap!

Megan2018 · 27/08/2019 06:48

We wash towels weekly and not with bleach, just on a 60 Cottons programme. Washing more often is excessive and terrible for the environment.

Fridakahlofan · 27/08/2019 06:51

You obviously don’t care about the environment at all

yikesanotherbooboo · 27/08/2019 06:52

Once a week.
It has never crossed my mind to use bleach.

ThinkGlow · 27/08/2019 06:54

I cannot be the only person who washes bath/shower towels less than once a month.

You use them when you're clean.

Hand towels are washed more often, once every couple of weeks. Teatowels every couple of days, with whatever load I'm doing.

And somehow I haven't died from any towel-related disease.

missmouse101 · 27/08/2019 06:55

Once weekly perfectly fine for bath towels (different bright colour per person-no need ever for bleach) They are hung to dry after each use. Hand towels every 3 days or so.

MirandaWest · 27/08/2019 07:00

I really have no idea but not as often as many people here. Maybe once a fortnight or so? And no bleach

Barbarafromblackpool · 27/08/2019 07:01

I do when they need it.

The kids towels, not very often maybe after a month. Unless they’ve been swimming.

Mine. I’m going to say once a month, which sounds like not very often but it doesn’t smell.

Hand towel I do every few days and it gets shoved in with everything else.

Once a week when I do the sheets. more than that is massively excessive.

RoseMartha · 27/08/2019 07:03

Weekly under normal circumstances. Kitchen towel gets washed more often than that.

RoseMartha · 27/08/2019 07:04

But I do not ever bleach my towels.

Daffodil2018 · 27/08/2019 07:07

I'm with @ThinkGlow - probably about once a month ish. I honestly don't know why you'd do it after every use - that is so wasteful Shock

LoubyLou1234 · 27/08/2019 07:07

Towels, bed linens once a week. Tea towels prob less when I remember. Only two of us. Daily Is ridiculous

S0CKS · 27/08/2019 07:11

I throw my kitchen towels into a wash with kitchen wash cloths etc whenever i do a clothes wash.
Bedding weekly i prefer to sleep under a big throw though which gets washed probably monthly dh gets the duvet
Towels probably every 5-8 days
I always use the ready to wash towels to give the dog a bath too to get extra use out of them.

toomuchtooold · 27/08/2019 07:12

One of the kids got worms a couple of months ago. Now I wash towels after two washes and we don't share towels.

cherryblossomgin · 27/08/2019 07:17

Two for the big towels and one for my hair and face towel. I have alot of towels so do a towel wash once a week.

Tonnerre · 27/08/2019 07:18

They smell if they are damp.

Ours don't. What on earth are you doing with them? Quite bemused by the people who are apparently so inefficient at washing themselves that their towels need to be washed after just one use.
