Lidl. Had the most amazing smoked tuna with wasabi paste. I bought lots. Then they just stopped. No explanation. No goodbyes. No weaning me off.

I asked in store. They don't know. I emailed Lidl. They said they'll ask the buyers. I don't know if they did cos they didn't tell me. But it didn't reappear on the shelves.

I have googled my head off and can not find smoked tuna anywhere.

Help!! Send smoked tuna!

It's not just Lidl. I've had it with Tesco... they stopped selling peach flavoured sparkling water...then a certain low calorie whipped yoghurt went away.

I actually phoned up the manufacturers and found out it was no longer being produced...but I was told about an alternative product.

It's a real PITA.

fluffybottom · 26/08/2019 22:37

Me neither @Bambamber I look for them every time I buy crisps. I found them once in Asda around Christmas and bought 6 bags....

AnnonniMoose · 26/08/2019 22:40

@Crochetcrochetcrochet - have you tried Boudreaux butt paste? Amazing stuff for exzema/psioriasis etc.

Nothingcomesforfree · 26/08/2019 22:41

Less glamorous but I bloody loved Neutradol Lavender Toilet Cleaner. It’s perfect for the downstairs loo as it deodorises and the smell is lovely and not overly chemically like ZToilet Duck or whatever.
Used to sell it in the 99p shop....and then they all closed and became £1 shops. And that’s that. Never seen it anywhere else.

DareDevil223 · 26/08/2019 22:49

I forgot my pet peeve, Heinz Celery soup. my absolute favourite. I miss it so much.

HoneyBee1973 · 26/08/2019 22:51

I have used labello lip balm for years ( since I was 12, so that's 33 years!). It's now called Nivea Lip care. They changed the formulation this past year and it feels totally different.

The new one makes my lips tingle and feel sore. I am so gutted. I wrote to them and they said they had to stop using some ingredients, in line with new regulations. I have to find something else that works. I have almost run out of my old stock Sad
I am totally bereft about this. Pink labello is part of my life.

5foot5 · 26/08/2019 22:58

We are worried about Needle gin from Aldi. Discovered last Christmas and been our favourite gin ever since. Then suddenly local store doesn't have it and doesn't even have a space on shelf where it might have been.

Some relief in sight as FIL has located some at an Aldi near Darlington. But, still, hope they are not running out with no plans to restock.

Iamthewombat · 26/08/2019 23:11

I am quite worried about Lidl’s majestic ‘Fin Carre’ chocolate bars.

They rule the world of chocolate. The best one is white choc with coconut and cornflake bits. It is everything you could want from a bar of chocolate, and more.

Anyway today as well as being in the normal sweeties aisle they had it in the ‘get it before it is gone’ section. Which, if you are wondering, is quite distinct from the aisle of wonder.

Please say that you are not discontinuing Fin Carre, Lidl! Our short but close friendship (which began when they opened a shop by us) will be over.

RainbowCake · 26/08/2019 23:13

Jezzoh I remember coconut feasts, they were gorgeous.
I miss Vice versas, they were like minstrels but white chocolate in a milk and well vice versa Grin

SoundofSilence · 26/08/2019 23:20

This thread is making me very nervous about my Menissez partbake baguettes. Costco didn't have them last time and we ended up with an organic version instead. They were salty and heavy and we have five of them a month later because nobody wants to eat them.

Sainsburys still do the proper ones, but a lot more expensive. Oh please don't let them be joining my extensive list of the sadly missed.

YesQueen · 26/08/2019 23:22

Oh forgot Lidl protein rolls Sad

carriemathisonshandbag · 26/08/2019 23:23

DD1 and I have not forgiven Tesco for changing the recipe of their Devonshire Fudge yoghurt. The new ones are grim.

Eat used to do an amazing lemon and coconut bar, that is no longer around. Years ago Pret did a rhubarb compote with yogurt and granola. I went on maternity leave, came back and it had gone.

CheshireChat · 26/08/2019 23:36

Similar to a PP, I also miss the Tesco plum flavoured water.

And the lovely coconut and cornflake chocolate has already long disappeared from my Lidl.

abitoflight · 27/08/2019 00:00

Aldi and Lidl used to do blue Brie in a small round at 79p - gone - fave fast lunch
Bourjois proudly naked lip booster gone
Cannellini beans gone from Aldi
It's too sad

shas19 · 27/08/2019 01:26

Lidl used to sell apple pie and blueberry mufffin milkshakes! They just vanished!
Also milky bar choo and mars delights. Still sad about them

TheKarateKitty · 27/08/2019 04:11

I just remembered more, thanks to all of the drinks and chocolate talk, and the mention of Mars.

Twix used to make a cookies n cream version, instead of the usual caramel layer, as well as a layer of chocolate cream instead of the regular caramel layer.

A favorite at that same point in time and long ago discontinued was Snapple Cherry Lime Rickey. It was delicious. I miss it. As I miss the plum ramune I cannot find anymore. The places that carry ramune, around me, seem to have all the flavors but that one! Even the specialty Japanese grocers don’t have it. So sad.

pinkunicorn20 · 27/08/2019 04:38

Sunpat choco peanut butter, so unhealthy but so delicious. There is nothing like it available anywhere :(

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 27/08/2019 07:03

@KetoWithIF Aldi also stopped doing the Nespresso style decaff pods whilst I was pregnant. Never managed to find any more that were as nice

Benjispruce · 27/08/2019 07:09

Ikea chocolate spread with honeycomb pieces. Not for me but my DD searches for it when we visit Ikea and hasn’t found it for about 2 years.

SinkGirl · 27/08/2019 07:11

Years ago Waitrose has these amazing smoked sausages every summer and then one year they just disappeared. It broke my heart.

Happy ending enough - they’re back this year.

There’s a local hipster burger place that sold “cock scratchings” which sounds awful but they were like pork scratchings but chicken skin, then tossed in some spices. They were the best thing ever. Whenever we went we bought an extra portion to take home. Then they stopped doing them. Just as I became pregnant. I craved them my entire pregnant and nowhere sells them. They don’t exist. I’m too accident prone to try deep fat frying so I’ll never get to taste them again.

I found a company that makes packets of them but they were legitimately disgusting.

londonrach · 27/08/2019 07:19

Back in 1993 in my first job we had a trolley lady come around the office selling chocolate, sandwitches, tea, coffee etc.... there was a chocolate bar on this trolley. By cadbury a mixture of choc, nuts, think it was fuse of something like that. Never seen it since i left that job in 1995. Think i imaged it now

LipstickTaserrr · 27/08/2019 07:35

Shop bought Italian wedding soup - gone, as though I just imagined its entire existence.

Asda - baby wipes have changed, smell vile and feel horrid
Uncle Ben's bacon and mushroom risotto. Really easy steam pack lunch has dropped of the earth.

Aldi if your reading - peach fruit and barley, I live on the stuff and after looking in 5 different locations its obviously over. Now I have to buy Robinson's chemically version for double the price Sad
Light hot chocolate Aldi version of options , praying it comes back this winter.
Oh an your new recipe Seal Bars are disgusting change them back.

Georgiemcgeorgeface · 27/08/2019 09:16

Clearly I'm not BU the fat cat supermarket bastards are! I was so perturbed after posting I had to go round to my friends and get shitfaced so now I'm perturbed with a mild hangover. I could really eat some smoked tuna......

londonrach Fuse did exist but was discontinued years ago. I hate when companies do this.

HaroldThatsEnough · 27/08/2019 09:26

Vichy do a tinted moisturiser which was beautiful. They discontinued the fair (00) shade and despite many reviews on their website begging them to bring it back, the bastards only have orange and darker than orange shades to this day.
