Wow, some impressive snobbery on this thread!

I will just say though that their spicy chicken livers (which are all I've eaten there) are amazing....... *dribbles......

LaurieMarlow · 22/08/2019 09:39

Food was not eatable.

What was wrong with it?

bakedbeanzontoast · 22/08/2019 09:40

I can't say what the food is like; I can't abide places that pump out booming music so haven't stayed in one long enough to find out. I suppose you can't really go wrong with chicken and chips though!

doadeer · 22/08/2019 09:45

I think it's somewhere teenagers go isn't it? Most of us probably aren't the target demographic

vampirethriller · 22/08/2019 09:55

I don't get it either. Tiny little stringy chickens and not enough rice. I've been in 3 different cities and they were all the same. "chicken shop" type takeaways are usually much better!

bobstersmum · 22/08/2019 09:58

Never been to nandos! I do like kfc and until recently loved the gravy the most, although dh would always have upset stomach after having the gravy. We were talking to someone that used to work for them and they said they'd never have the gravy because all the bits of chicken that crumble off throughout the day are saved and ground down to make the gravy, sounds grim and dodgy to say the least so we don't have it now, and he hasn't had upset stomach since!

You might be interested to know the kitchens are just for show - all the chickens are pre cooked at a central kitchen

That is not true, they come pre marinated and cooked in the back of the store, when you order the pre cooked chicken is then put on the grill and the spice is added and chicken is flame grilled.

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 22/08/2019 10:05

Mmmmmmmmm delicious !

Pinkarsedfly · 22/08/2019 10:07

Tasteless, sticky tables, noisy. Yuk.

Skittlenommer · 22/08/2019 10:24

I love the vegan options!

Inniu · 22/08/2019 10:29

As fast food goes I like Nandos. You can have healthier options than many other fast food restaurants

familycourtq · 22/08/2019 10:34

YANBU Nandos is utter shite

HouseworkAvoider10 · 22/08/2019 10:49

I don't like Nandos.

GabsAlot · 22/08/2019 10:51

Its ok for what it is-f and b now thats gone down hill over prices microwaved food-used to be great years ago

Hoppinggreen · 22/08/2019 10:54

Dd and her friends like it because it’s Halal and has a good vegetarian range too so the whole gang can go and it’s affordable for teens.
Halloumi fries are apparently awesome.

Pinkblueberry · 22/08/2019 10:57

I really like Nando’s Blush it’s simple food but can be very varied as you can mix up your sides, decide how hot/flavoursome you want your meal, go for just chicken or a wrap or burger depending how hungry you are. The salads are really nice too. It’s not Michelin star, but if you enjoy chicken what’s not to like 🤷‍♀️ Although I do wish they had proper waiter service rather than having to go up to order your meal - the meals aren’t really cheap enough to justify that.

Legomadx2 · 22/08/2019 11:01

Agree it's awful.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 22/08/2019 11:02

I have never been. Does it only serve chicken? I am far from being a food snob but that seems a bit limited.

Vilanelle · 22/08/2019 11:05

I would much prefer a cheaper lunchtime meal in a brasserie. Only went to Nando's once (on the suggestion of a friend) and I was bitterly disappointed.

Plus I had a blue elastic band in my food!

ElizaDee · 22/08/2019 11:08

How is this not good value?

I think that's a great price for a healthyish fast meal out. We add a salad to it too so a whole meal for 2 for about 25 quid Confused

oldwhyno · 22/08/2019 11:14

I go for the chicken livers and a glass of wine

CedarTreeLeaf · 22/08/2019 11:17

ElizaDee

You can get a cooked whole chicken like that from the store for like £5. Mash would be £1 to £1.50 and a large soft drink bottle probably another £1. You're total cost to have the same ready made meal at home would be £7.50 and they want £20.95 for it. I don't see it as a good deal.

Pinkblueberry · 22/08/2019 11:28

You can say that about any restaurant Cedar they do need to make a profit.

@thatmustbenigelwiththebrie chicken is the only meat but they do quite a few veggie options too.

magicstar1 · 22/08/2019 11:34

I went once with DH...the chicken was dry and stringy, and the coleslaw was rancid. I'd never go again.
